I am a newbie, I installed version 5.1.0.170 from here, registered licence with Patcher 1.8 to make it work with my Acer BT-600 USB dongle, it works, but when I am pairing it with a BT device (tried a headset and a mobile phone) I can't see which services are available with this device, and because of this I can't complete successfully the pairing procedure.

Anyone can help telling me what's wrong?

Thanks a lot!

Hi everybody, I have a Microtune USB Dongle and the problem is the same for me : after pairing, unable to use any service...

btw before installing it I replaced the file BTWUSB.INF contained in the BTW\Win32 and Win64 folder of the WidComm v5.1.0.1700 package with the corresponding file from the v5.1.0.1100 package

And did you use the Licence Patcher ?

Any chance your Bluetooth adapter is based on CSR (Cambridge Silicon Radio) parts? If so, Widcomm v5.1.0.1700 drivers are broken for these devices.

Thanks RonR, it must be it because I've spent all day long reading the posts of this forum and trying all patching methods...no success.

Which is the last operational version of Widcomm drivers for CSR adapters ?

Which is the last operational version of Widcomm drivers for CSR adapters ?

All of the v5.1.0.1700 drivers that have been posted are identical in terms of the actual Widcomm Bluetooth Driver files contained therein (and they all fail with CSR based adapters).

The previous version is v5.1.0.1100 and works equally well with CSR and Broadcom based adapters.

The only problem with this release is that the anycom package linked by illusion0 has a btwusb.inf restricted to ANYCOM adapters.

Just use the btwusb.inf file from 5.1.0.1100 release, or find attached in this post the btwusb.inf file that I used merging the two files from both releases.

Otherwise many people will find that after installation the adapter will not be installed correctly even though the drivers installed correctly after License patching.

Anyway this version works correctly on my HP nx8220 with integrated bluetooth adapter...

Thanks to Illusion for posting this release...appreciated...;)

My $0.02...:)

Guys I've just dled 5.1.0.2800 from the mule,
it gives the right number when I start installing it, and it says "ThinkPad Bluetooth with Enhanced Data Rate Software" in the advanced config.
It works on my broadcom adaptor.
Is this the last version? It worked withouth additional licenses/files/patches...also, I can't apply with the license patcher cause I don't see any license.dat ... should I be ok so?

Are you sure it's v5.1.0.2800 and not v5.0.1.2800? There was a v5.0.1.2800 a while back and someone scrambled the digits when talking about it in an earlier thread. Look in BTWUSB.INF and also check the properties of several of the actual driver files.

You are completely right! It seemed so strange to me!
It also was workin' worse than my ""older"" 5... one installed :)
Thanks for making me notice it!

Using the "search" function in forums takes roughly the same time as making a new post, and the chances of getting an answer straight away are much higher :D

This is identical to the AnyCom release (except the AnyCom release also includes a firmware update for the AnyCom 200/250 adapters).

Is your device based on the CSR chipset ? If so read the above posts. It is clearly stated that the 5.1.0.1700 release is INCOMPATIBLE with CSR chipsets and that you should stick instead with 5.1.0.1100 if you have such a dongle.

Double click on your bluetooth icon in the system tray, then click on the Bluetooth menu and select Advanced Configuration. Click on the Diagnostics tab and look up the manufacturer.

The rightmost tab (I forget what it's named) on the configuration window generally tells whether it's a Cambridge Silicon Radio (CSR), Broadcom, or whatever based chipset present in your adapter.

Ouch, it would seem that Broadcom has really messed up Widcomm compatibility with other chipsets as well.. not just CSR. Can you pair anything else besides your cellphone ?

Hi!

I was able to install this version of WidComm stack without any patches, etc.
(I have a Trust BT 1300TP dongle which has VID 0A5C and PID 200A and is recognized by this stack as ANYCOM Blue USB 130)

I am trying to get this to work with a Motorola HT820 Stereo Headset.
The headset is recognized (as HandsFree device and Stereo Audio) and paired.

Handsfree device works fine (listening to voice quality mono audio and microphone) but Stereo Audio is problematic.
First, it only works at all if the Hands Free profile is not connected (otherwise, it just plays <1s and that's it - although media player continues to play... when I press the left button, I again here <1s)
Even when the Hands Free profile is not connected, it stutters (as if listening to streaming audio on a slow connection).

Any suggestions (maybe some registry settings) to fix this?

Thanks!

Any suggestions (maybe some registry settings) to fix this?Is your dongle a Broadcom dongle? If yes, what firmware does it have? Firmwares older than 2.1.92.0 are problematic when it comes to stereo streaming. How about the Motorola stereo headset, is that fully Bluetooth 2.x compliant, or is it a Bluetooth 1.2 headset? My impression is that one won't be able to make both Hands Free and Stereo Audio work at the same time with Bluetooth 1.2 headsets...

I am using an A1pro ESS-388 dongle, which has an ISSC chipset.

Installed 5.1.0.1700, patched the ISSC device licence, and when I run widcomm it has found my dongle. However, when I search for bluetooth devices like my PDA, nothing is found.

There's nothing wrong with the dongle, as it managed to find my PDA when I was using bluesoleil.

Does anyone know what's wrong here?

I didn't get a v1.1 CSR dongle (BT v1.1) run with a headset (stack: Widcomm 5.1.0.1100). The micro didn't work and the "Stereo Audio" profile didn't connect at all... After getter many gray hair, I tried the toshi stack and WOW!!!! It works fine!!!!

Is this a limited trial version? The Toshiba stack that comes with my laptop is a 30 day evaluation trial only.

This is the v6.00.03 stack (http://global.msi.com.tw/index.php?func=driverfile&dno=6919&i=0) for the Toshiba (read CSR) device in the MSI Wind. I have it installed on my MSI Wind (rebadged as Advent 4211) and it works fine. I was trying to change the stack to Widcomm but 5.1.0.1100 won't connect to A2DP devices my reason for wanting to change. The Toshiba stack connects fine to my Plantronics Pulsar 590A stereo headset but not to my WiMe Kurve (http://www.wimenow.com/product_kurve_receiver.htm) BT audio receiver which suffers from regular drop outs.
