View Full Version : My RAZR has a virus!

It won't stop pressing the numbers 5 and 6, which makes it impossible to even get into my phone since I have a start-up lock on it.. it also keeps adjusting the volume to "6". I assume I got the virus from downloading things off my mobile internet. Stupid! :/ Is there any way I can master reset my phone without actually getting into it? It is impossible to type in my password (like I said, my phone won't stop pressing buttons and unfortunately the ones its entering are NOT the ones of my pin) to unlock my phone to get into settings. HELP!

hi

you getting paranoid,
the only problem you have is your keypad, remove the simcard and try the keys again,

razor have not residen os to allow virus, everything is shutted down at powerdown and boot up again when powered,

best regards

its 100% hardware problem.

your keypad membrane got damaged and its making contact all the time.
check for water damage as this will cause this.
also if your volume is moving around too then your side buttons are damaged too, almost guarantee 100% water damage.

When I do that it still keeps pressing "5" or "6" and sometimes "2" then an "Emergency calls only" box pops up. It does this over and over to where I can't even turn the phone off because it's so busy pressing the buttons. I have to remove the battery again just to get it to turn off.

I have already checked that.. there IS NO water damage to my phone. But I didn't really have to.. because I know my phone has never gotten wet.

it does not have to get wet, the way you mean, it could be huminity, (body) sweat, even sudden changes in temperature could cause "water" damage, change keypad cable and try new speaker flex cable, new LCD, mainboard. Swap known good parts to find the bad one, definately no virus, e.g. symbian operating system phones can get virus but not v3.
