In the list of the available com-ports, theres many missing:

COM3 (FTDI cable)
COM4 (FTDI cable)
COM5 (Furious Gold driver)

The only it finds is COM1 (physicle), 1 of 2 USTII-ports, and NSDongle box.

Why doesn't it find itself or other FTDI devices?

can you tell exactly how you installed the furious gold?

And be sure you installed drivers from support area. Don't use any other FTDI drivers like cruiser cable etc... Use only FuriousGold.

I installed the furious drivers, but when i got prompted that a newer file already existed, i selected NO to overwrite it, since that would mess up every other device.

Last time i installed older drivers than then the ones at ftdi.com, that resulted in blue screen everytime a ftdi device are accessed. What version of the ftdi drivers does furious use?

Why isn't it possible to use updated drivers with furious?

But they are not updated...

This is a FTDI device right? Then it should use FTDI drivers which is available here: http://www.ftdichip.com/

I guess you are using old FTDI drivers, when making drivers for furious.

In other words, i can't use furious, because your software does not support new ftdi drivers, like all other software supports.

Old drivers have bugs, like the bluescreen issue i mentioned.
