Hi, need some help. Trying to install TT6 on N80 but unable to transfer files to SD card, stops half way through saying that it can't continue transfer. This is via file manager and data cable, can't use card reader as it will not read my 2Gb card. Anyone got any thoughts?

I have installed tt6 onto N80, didn;t work. So deleted it off memory card, then tried to copy and paste the same files to memory card, but it wont install automatically again. It just says cant install.

Ok, i've downloaded the software after re-booting the phone (*#7370#).

However, my new problem is that i run the Tom Tom software, put in the time, agree miles ETC, choose the female voice. Then it comes up with 'No maps found!.
I can then click Select or Cancel. If i choose either of these the programme ends and i go back to 'My Own' page.
I have downloaded and saved different maps (Guam, GB_plus_.....mid files) onto the root directory of my memory card, but it doesn't seen to find them.

Is it do with with running a different version of Symbian V3. I have (*#0000#) V 3.0617.0.6 03-05-2006 RM-92 Nokia N80 (33.01).

I have read about V 4.0 something. Is this the reason my Tom Tom is not workming. I only bought this phone for the sat nav, and cant even get it working! Arrrggghhh!
Any help would be appreciated, and i'm sure a helping hand now would be rewarded in future life (no promises though).

I'm using a N80, and it's working now. I put the map in de tomtom map instead of making a new one. I called the new one GUAM and copy the complete GUAM map into this one. Than activate code with the keygenerator, and it works. Than I put the Benelux map into the tomtom map, and ......tata

I just copied the .mid file and the .dat files with it, from download and copied them onto the memory card (top level). Do i need to put them into a special file? or install them?

Is there a way to create regianal maps from large 1.2GB north america maps? One more question. When i zoom out all the way my eastern region (where GPS is) is darker than Western Reagion. Does it means anything? Am i limited to using only part of the maps at the time?

Tomtom directory should be on the root of yr memory card m8 and you need to copy file after file into the right directory of yr memory card then use keygen to get the code for your map and there you go son

Thanks for the reply fatteh, I have used a copy of TomTom that works on my friend's N70 but my N73 doesn't seem to recognise it unless I'm looking in the wrong place!

The way I was told to do it was, place my memory card in a card reader then copy all of the TomTom files to the root directory, replace the memory card, then boot up the phone.

When I do that, the phone starts up okay, but the TomTom program isn't there. The files can be seen on the memory card in File Manager, but the application won't start.

(Having said that, I don't know where the program icon would turn up!!)

Nothing askes for a serial number or code. It's as if I don't get that far into the installation.

Can you see what I'm doing wrong or can I pleeeze ask for a copy of your files???

With The N73 You Can Use Tomtom5.2 Or Tomtom6
For Tomtom 6 Just Use Sis Installer And Copy Gaum Map..then Copy Your Country Map

Glad I could help mate.

To change maps you need to go to the TomTom preferences.

Open TomTom
Press the joystick to access the Main Menu
Select option 5 (Change preferences)
Go to page 4 of Preferences
On page 4, select option 3 (Manage maps)
It's self explanatory from there........

Hi khan, sorry, I'm no expert at this, it's just that I found the link for the N73 at post# 322 above.

Try following those instructions. It might work for your phone as it did mine.

I had quite a few different versions of downloaded TomTom but none worked until I got a good one from there. It might just be that!?

It appears that way! There are quite a few posts in this forum stating that 'pirated' versions of TomTom just wont work with the N91!!

Do other users, with the same hardware, experience the same problems? My N73 firmware is ending with .001. I've heard that firmware .003 may fix the problem (at least it fixes the same problem that Navicore navigators show)

N73 (ver. . . .0.0.3), globalsat BT-338 (ver 3.1.1), TT-6.50. couple one-day long trips -- few times (2-3 most) on each trip i had lost connectivity to GPS, even though N73 dispaly says "no valid GPS signal" (or something like that), blinking green light on BT-338 tells me it's connected and in 3-d sync mode. Ok now this following method to install TomTom 6 navigator may depend on what nokia you got but this worked eventually for me on my N73 and since I nearly smashed my head in frustration at working this out and piecing this together I thought that I would try and help some other unfotunates who have the same questions that baffled me. I eventually worked this out after some trial and error....

have tried to make easy a poss for any noobs.


1. You need to download a file called something like TomTom_S60_3rd.rar - links posted in forum above to rapidshare.de, if not try megaupload or if you have a usenet account - binsearch.info

2. Extract the .rar file to your PC and copy to the root folder of your Mini SD (or whichever memory card u using). You can't do this via the Nokia PC suite either as the 'sys' and 'private' folder are protected. You need either a media card reader in your PC or a usb key pen with SD card adaptor. This way you should be able to transfer all your files straight to the SD card - I started with a newly formatted card, not sure about with data already on but it should work the same.

4. Download a copy of the Guam map if its not included in the original download, copy the Guam folder to the mem card as well. This should be a folder with several .dat files, a .pna file and a Guam.mid file.

5. Load the mem card back into phone and boot up - go into the menu > applications > and you should now see the TomTom logo. Launch the app and follow the prompts - for the Guam map it will ask you to activate, choose manual. It should then tell you the Device ID which I believe is unique for each phone (I think). Exit application

6. Download the Map Activation Keygen and extract the files to e.g C:/TTNKeygen

7. copy Guam.mid to C:\TTNKeygen

8. click start -> run -> type cmd -> OK

9. CD C:/TTNKeygen

10. TT6_kg_4_C4Pda.exe Guam.mid

11. Enter your device id from tomtom.

12. Keygen will then generate an activation code.

13. Go back to phone and run TomTom, this time enter activation code and bingo you should now be able to use map live somewhere in Guam.....

14. Next download the map(s) you actually want and copy the .mid file to C:\TTNKeygen and run the crack again to get a new activation code....

15. copy the new map to the mem card - you should be able to do this via nokia pc suite now.

16. enter your activation code again and here you go you runing tomtom for real.

17. Connect GPS device and then you actually live in ........ Skegness (Not)

Once you have it unrar all the files either onto your PC or directly to the memory card of the phone (can use a card reader).

After that copy what ever map/maps you want to have onto the card.

So on your phone you should have a load of tomtom folders and files and your maps.

Once all files and maps are copied over, pop the card back into the phone.

You now need to download the keygen (TT6_kg_4_C4Pda) from here :-

To make it easier just make a directory and extract it to C:\Keygen

Now go to your maps and copy over the MAP_NAME.mid file so in this case go to the Great_Britain map folder and copy the following file - Great_Britain.mid (if you use the GB Plus map use this file - GB_plus_major_roads_of_WE.mid )

Paste the Great_Britain.mid (or GB_plus_major_roads_of_WE.mid) into the directory with the keygen (c:\keygen) so that folder will have 2 items now:

TT6_kg_4_C4Pda.exe and Great_Britain.mid (or GB_plus_major_roads_of_WE.mid)

Open up a command prompt (Start-Programs-Accessories-command prompt) and type cd C:\ (press enter) it should now display C:\>

Now type cd keygen it should now display C:\keygen>

Then type TT6_kg_4_C4Pda.exe Great_Britain.mid
(or TT6_kg_4_C4PDa.exe GB_plus_major_roads_of_WE.mid)

(Make sure you have a space between .exe & Great)

It should now display Enter Device ID:

Ok, now in your phone go to the My own folder, in there you will find the tomtom icon. Click on it to start and it will ask you to select your preferences etc. Select the map you wish use and it will ask you activate it. Activate the map manually and it will give you a Device ID and ask for the activation code.

Go to the command prompt on your PC and enter the Device ID in and press enter - the activation code will pop up and that's it !!

put the flie caled zip on the memory card thats the file with the postcodes in
putting additional voices on sometimes slows tomtom down so dont bother

Well i did it without a card reader, used data transfer and transfered to the memory card in the phone. Seems to work fine...

Still waiting to purchase a gsm receiver, should do this evening.

BTW what is the difference between 16 channel and 32? I wish to leave it in my glove compartment... Would this be ok?

i made it! it's like you said. put the keygen-folder with your .mid on pc c:\-directory. open dos-console and type in "tt6_....exe Western_and_Central_Europe" for example. then you got the key!;) :) :cool:
even easier open dos eg run/cmd.. then drad key gen in to black box then pres space then drag midi file int black box press enter hey presto :D

Finally got my BT-GPS, got it all set up and is working great!! The only problem is, it takes about a bit longer than a minute to lock into a GPS signal, but thats the BT-GPS's fault.

Does the bluetooth signal drop or your GPS signal ?

If your GPS its probably or most likely the fault of the GPS, Could try a more expensive one with a higher channel number (Been doing my research) or move the GPS Reciever into a different location in the car, the wonders of bluetooth an no wires :p

If your bluetooth signal, then what phone are you using? I know that the N80 had some bluetooth problems and was fixed in the new firmware update. Otherwise try moving the phone and GPS receiver around...

I have had to put into the carphone whaerehouse for update as there are none for O2 on the nokia updater they said it will take 10 to 14 days for repair

First maybe you have a folder named tomtomnavigator or something else in your phone memory (not in the SD card!), delete it using a file manager.
After, delete the .mac file in the map folder
Then try this: GCDDK XMQLR BSSBS

Final, please use a bright font!

1. Extract the folowing file to your Mini SD (or whichever memory card u using).

3. Download the Map Activation Keygen and extract the files to e.g C:\TTNKeygen

5. click start -> run -> type cmd -> OK

Yes. N80s must have V 4.0623.0.41 or above, cause Nokia had to fix some bluetooth problem.

Yes. N80s must have V 4.0623.0.41 or above, cause Nokia had to fix some bluetooth problem.

I'm one of the rather silly people who buys the software without checking the fine detail... N91 = S60 v3, Navigator 6 = S60 v3 compatible.

I asked from TomTom before buying if it is compatible, their response was

Thanks for that i have tomtom on my N91 and its good to see that thay have started to pull there finger out and get on with an update for us N91 users.

If you need a navigator for your N91 then i would us Route 66 Mobile 7 it works on the N91 and theres a Crack for the maps so if like me i need a working navigator for work then us it until tomtom bring out an update

So what is this noob doing wrong. Have downloaded tomtom_s60_3rd_rar to PC .unrared to SC card on phone. and not install happens.m on looking through the file there is no .sis file. the folders that have been opened are:-Voices,tomtom (2 files Munich.bin and data.chk), Sys,resource, raster,private and licence. Use USB cable and connect the mobile in "File Transfer" -mode instead of "PC Suite" -mode (or some other mode). Then you are able to do anything you want to memory card.

You can also use memory card reader in order to transfer those files. If you do not have one, ypu can always use "File Transfer" -mode :D .

Hello I have found shrewdness for those that want to have the announcements for the POI personalised, without changing the "DATA.CHK" which is stored in the subdirectory drive:/TomTom.
This method is working on the TomTom Navigator 6 for Symbian S60 3rd edition working on the Nokia E61.
Here below the workflow how to personalise the spoken messages linked to the POI which are saved as OV2 files in the directory of the Map.

1) First of all one has to prepare the message which one can build using the web page: naturalvoices (http://www.naturalvoices.com/demos). On this page one can type in a message and a wav file is generated with the spoken message.
2) To enable that the TomTom application is recognising the messages the format of the files should be changed using the Ogg Vorbis algorithm. To do this the application ‘OggdropXPd.exe’ which one can download from the location: OggdropXPd.exe (http://www.rarewares.org/dancer/dancer.php?f=78).
The use of OggDropXPd is rather straight forward. The file oggdropXPd.exe in the Zip file needs to be stored on the hard disk. You don’t need to install the program. One the program is launched a square will appear on your desktop which contains the Ogg Vorbis logo. To setup the settings like audio quality, the target folder, to remove the source files or not, etc… one need to right click in the window. To encode or decode files it is sufficient to select those files and move them in the window of the oggdropXPd program. The program will start converting the files. A user guide is available via the following URL: UserGuide (http://www.rarewares.org/files/ogg/oggdropXPdUserGuide1.6.zip)
3) Ones the audio files are converted the files should get the same name as the POI files except the extension is different namely .ogg indicating that it concerns Ogg Vorbis files.
4) Ones this is done the .ogg files need to be stored in the same directory where the map is stored. So for example if one have the map Western_Europe the following files are stored over there:
CLINE.DAT
CNAME.DAT
CNODE.DAT
FACE.DAT

But also the POI files like:
mb_bnl_flitspalen_100.bmp (containing the icon of the POI)
mb_bnl_flitspalen_100.ov2 (containing the information of all points)
mb_bnl_flitspalen_100.ogg (the message that should be played when a point of this category is passed by)

For each POI one can make a spoken message.
5) How to activate this message:
launch Navigator 6 on your mobile phone.
Go to the menu and select ‘Change preferences’. Select ‘Manage POIs’ and select following menu ‘Warn when near POI’. Select the POI you want a spoken warning. If there exist an ogg file with the same name as the POI you will not be asked to select a warning tone but the program will select it automatic.

Hi, i dont know if you can help me or not. But i have been trying to install tomtom 6 on my mobile for the GB_plus_Major_roads_of_WE. I cannot get the keygen to work i get devive code ANHAS C2LF2.

I am going out of my mind trying to get the code, any help woul be very gratfully appreciated.

Thanks for you help, I was not using the above the link but have now tried to use the above link you mentioned and follow the instructions but cant find the MID file anywhere do you know where this is located cos i have searched everywhere for it.

Really hope someone can help me.

Tomtom 6.010 installs without problems.

I have followed the procedure, but i can`t manage to activate the maps.
Have tried the Guam map and the scandinavian map. I get the wrong activation code on both maps.
I also tried removing the scandinavian map, and just tried with guam.

I get the following codes from the keygen:
Guam
Device code: AB3AQ A2GSS
Activation code: NA2AT 3BDQL A3A9J

Scandinavia
Device code: AB3AQ A2GSS
Activation code: REFHZ RTMYL UX8A2
