I have now read ALL the posts regarding sim cloning and it is all as clear as mud! Sorry to seem like a dullard , but can anyone provide an idiot's step by step guide including all the soft that is needed and exactly how to run it (ie in dos or what).I have an elvis and i think i have downloaded most of the soft inc the PAR file (whatever that is!!! I need your help guys!
I'll be doing a small FAQ about SIM cloning and the several types of clones (for gold, silver...)
When it's done, I'll drop a post here <img src="smile.gif" border="0">
In the meanwhile... get SIM SCAN 1.21 and start scanning your cards for KIs (use option F5-F3 from sim_scan and use F800 as the limit). Takes 20hours on a PII 700... First put the PAR2.BIN on the sim scan directory.

Thanks for the quick reply! My elvis won't even respond to sim scan!! keep on getting error "card dosn't send answer to reset" !! any ideas???
This may seem obvious, but... have you tried changing the COM port? Aren't there any other programs accessing the COM port? get <a href="http://alf.di.fct.unl.pt/~pa/CWSDPMI.EXE" target="_blank">cwsdpmi.exe</a> dos extender and boot without windows and do the following:
run "cwsdpmi -s- -p"
run sim_scan
<br />Have you tried smartmouse mode too?
Where can I get the full specs on your Elvis programmer?

I have tried booting in dos and running that prog first,but it still comes up with the same fault.I have tried swapping the com ports,still no help,info on the elvis can be found at <a href="http://www.maxking.co.uk.How" target="_blank">www.maxking.co.uk.How</a> would i try "mouse" mode when booting in dos?

check elvis power supply - should be 9V with -ve centre pin.
