Hi,<br /> <br /> This the traslation of a post from simemu's creator talking about the next version of the software. I think you will enjoy it <img src="smile.gif" border="0">
----- CUT -----
The new version I'm working on uses the Sim Application Tool Kit (SATK) to deal with the phone and create as for example you own menus. This way we could change addressbook size and number of allowed sms dinamically, check the currently selected number, and here comes the most interesting one, being able to change the phone number without power off.
I've tested in some phones, i.e. Alcatel,Panasonic, Motorola, Ericsson T68 and Mitshubishi, and everything works perfect and best of all it's fast (nokia info follows).
Ericcson T10 takes too long so it's better power it off and use another PIN.
With Nokia and Siemens (that also takes a long time), we have to force a provider search for them to work.
And now, what happens when the phone is provider locked?
Nokia, Mitsubishi and Ericcson T10 they work without problems. The remaining brands just ask for the net code. I suppose that when they know about this Nokia and Mitshubishi will also ask for it
In order to show the phone that IMSI has changed while it's on, we need to ask it through SATK to execute REFRESH command as, GSM 11.14 spec. recommends , but it looks like each manufacturer developed it their own way and that's the reason why they show so different behaviours.
Besides the advantage for locked phones, I don't see this practical if it takes longer than power off and power on again using another PIN...
I suppose it will take some time to release this version but I thought it would be interesting to talk about it.

<br />Well, I just can say one thing, this guy is amazing <img src="eek.gif" border="0"> <img src="eek.gif" border="0"> <img src="eek.gif" border="0"> <img src="eek.gif" border="0">
This can be a TRUE bomb.
