Good, allround protection.
Works great with Sygate firewall.

Avast even knows that a lot of the files on my Pc are actually cracks, and doesn't tell me they are virus's as such :D

With NOD, I had many false warnings, With Norton had some major slowdown, and did not find virus , found by any other antiviruses, Bitdefender, (I bought even licens for it) I liked it most, but I found that FREE Antivir personal edition (lately Avira) does better job on even slover computers ( even K62, hehe, who use it anymore) interface a littlebit spartan but I use it almost for 2 years , and I just love it, it is the best for me. It doen't send hidden data as "quality feedback" when updating it, a few hacker frends use it for this reasons ( and they KNOW whitch is the best).

They are all the same they just copy from each others such as GSM products sometimes one update 1st then the rest is just after it , some do it for free and some is paid for , some could be cracked , some couldn't be

If you are looking for a good anti-virus, follow my advice.. Get Kaspersky! Why? Because it monitors even the most trivial task/service. Even if a software is requesting access to the net, something will just pop up asking your permission before proceeding.

Forget Bit Defender, Norton and Mc Affeee.... They are just useless from my point of view. Many of you might not be supporting my post but let me share my experience with you:

A friend of mine is in the hacking stream and often pings servers using a lame trojan/virus called RBOT which uploads itself when it finds an open port (That's why it's not a good practice to open UDP ports). To prevent security software from detecting it, they just pack the virus with something called EXE packer. This packer is going to alter the header of RBOT.EXE and make some changes to the file size. Thus when your anti-virus reads it, no virus/trojan related info will be found in its database. This is not the case with kaspersky. It is going to have a deep scan and will tell you which requests the virus is making and only with your permission will it be able to get access to the net.

3.:Forget the Norton stuffs,I used it years ago,it was slow and useless.My internet provider blocked my connection because of virus activity,Norton found nothing.I found more than 50 infected files with Panda.
4.:Maybe Nod32 is good enough,but on my Pc,it was a real ram-eater and that user interface,OMG.My friend was a big fan of Nod32,until his computer got slow down.Nod32 found nothing,Avast found 97 infected files.He uses his computer with Avast without problems.

So,maybe Avast is not the most perfect antivirus software,but it is free and works well.

I'm using norton 2009 version its very smooth for my computer the antivirus is excellent detection very few false positive detection.

kaspersky8.0 is the best but its expensive to purchase and difficult to activate it . bitDefender but activation is the most difficult, and it might slow down the machine,nod 32 good for games as it does not slow down the PC but might penetrate some of the viruses such as SVHOST!!!. personally say that stick some freeware such as avira,AVG,Avast ,but just make sure to come up with a user account which will have a password at least of 8 characters as viruses will have the difficulty to crack it and get installed in your machine.Use a spy-ware if you are working in an environment with high contiguous of viruses and leave restore point in your PC so that even if a viruse enters the system it you will manage to recover your system.;)

Its good if it is at least Pentium but i manage to use kav 7.0 with a p3,256MB but it slows down the PC a bit, but thanks to window maintains software i manage to use with out huge issues.

1- less weight
2- less memory,cpu usage
3- 6th sense technology
4- should detect suspicious files and able to handle them
5- Registry protection and cleaning
