View Full Version : Why can't I use simscan 1.21??
I made a dejan smartcard reader
And it work perfect on simscam_1.01 & candian 68
But when I use the latest sim_scan 1.21
It shows
Fatal Error: Card don't send Answer To Reset !
I also try to download a par2.bin,it still not work!!
Could someone help me!!
Or if there is any better (fast & safe) way to get Ki code!!

Try Cardinal software for Windows... it works well and gives KI and IMSI and creates the SilverCard files for you

Which version of Cardinal does this?!?!?

I have version 68 of Cardinal and it sure ****s up all recent cards... maybe you have a better version?

I still can not use Sim_scan 1.21 , only old version did....
I can use Cardinal v68,
I've use it to found 4 pairs Ki,and still trying...
But I also worried about Cardinal will broken the A38 limit...
Is there any other program won't broken A38 limit ??
Or if there any method to make me use sim_scan1.21??
I've heared there is a way to run sim_scan in Pure DOS??
Could anyone tell me how to do and sent me the dpmi program..

Download cwsdpmi here (http://alf.di.fct.unl.pt/CWSDPMI.EXE) .
Boot to DOS and run "cwsdpmi -p"
Then run sim_scan
If you need par2.bin get it here (http://alf.di.fct.unl.pt/PAR2.BIN)

... m8.. you should know that par2.bin is especially created for YOU on YOUR system and effects the behaviour of sim_scan on your own computer.....
Downloading from another PC can result in fake KI according to my own experiance!

I've only ever used the par2.bin that Alf kindly mailed me months ago - I've done 3 sim cards myself ok and also shared it with several people who also have had no problems with it.
Not saying you're wrong in any way Carlos - just posting my personal experiences

I found that I had two similar but still different KI when I used another par2.bin other than created on my own PC.....
Maybe it's the PC or the perating system..... I don't know :confused:

par2.bin is NOT system dependant!
If you have two different par2.bin then one of them is corrupted.
Par2.bin is a simple table to speed up the process... It's an array of calculated operations and has nothing to do with architecture. It's not included in the package because it's too large, even compressed.
Lot's of people have trouble generating par2.bin and sim_scan crashes either generating or saving it... maybe you've got one on which the program didn't crash but saved some garbage.
I've compared my par2.bin with others generated on completely different machines with different SIM cards on the reader and they're equal byte for byte.
