Now, here's the way you move:

power off your phone, and take off the battery.

then, connect it to pc by normal usb cable

then, Press together the power on telephon button, the contacts button (button over red phone) and camera button, now you enter in flash mode and your windows should find usb drivers.

For Flashing read info.

sorry davi thats an i-mode flash also, no idea what country its from though

I don't really care either way about having the i-mode included in the firmware, it's the crippling by O2 that bugs me. :mad:

GPRS has been completely disabled and made unavailable. Speed Dial is disabled (greyed out) and cannot be enabled. There is probably a lot of other features or functions that this phone is capable of providing but they have been permanently crippled by O2.

If there isn't any non-O2 firmware available, is there some very clever buggar out there who can mod or patch that firmware to enable all of the features that the S400i was originally designed and manufactured to provide please? ;)

That problem is because of Driver. Install the correct driver and try agian. Please don't ask me where to find that driver ;) It's everywhere.

About Z720 Question:
Z720 newest firmware is Z720XEGD1 , released on Apr.4.2007 , it fix the spelling mistake on some words on Z720XEGB3
Z720XB newest is Z720XBGB2, only fix the sound problem (Sound become mute when on some BT actions), and fix the problem on FFS format action which exist in Z720XBGB1.

Me too! I have run the SGH-i600 Flash and am now having problems with the handset locking up, no USB connectivity and the phone locks everytime i try to configure Bluetooth.

When the v1.1 Downloader was running, it got to the port test stage and Port 8 failed. The 3 digit counter then kept cycling for about 30mins before i disconnected the battery and cable.

THe SW versions that are now on the phone are -
PDA: i600XXGC6
Phone: i600XXGC2 (didn't change after flash???)
Eboot: i600XXGC6

I bought the phone outright but it had a Telstra v1.3 downloader which has no WiFi functionality. With the last v1.1 downloader I have WiFi but it is asking for a network card.

Please help with this issue!

Ahum, well, don't mean to nag but the driver problem seems to be the main issue here. The companion CD has an USBMDM.inf-file but I can't get it working with that. So a link to the dirver for the unbranded i600 would be highly appreciated...

I am new and I have 2 problems.
I)how does one post and
2) how to unlock a Samsung D407 and a Samsung X497 with the appropriate codes.
The following reasons:
- I can not use the # or * keys in the area of the boot up screen that has the place for code along
with the little picture icon of the lock(tried all the keys but nothing to get out of this screen or to
imput # or * keys and this is with the non-activated sim card in the phone

- If I take out the sim card I can use the #* keys but there is no sim card in the phone and that is
not in the steps I listed below.... wrong obviously? But surprisingly, I can get all the way to Step
5 of the steps listed below.

- I can not get past *0141# as when I hit the # key it reboots to the very beginning again and I can
not hit the green send key. I get no personalized message and the sim again must be out of the
phone to get this far
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Below is the steps I am using for the Sam D407

1/ Put a non-accepted SIM Card

2/ Turn the phone on, it should display "wrong card" or "Incorrect SIM".

3/ Type *#9998*3323#

4/ At the next screen press Exit.

5/ On the Menu Screen select #6 or Malloc fail. The phone will then reboot

6/ After phone reboots type *0141# and hit the Call button.
The phone will then display "personalized"

7/ Turn off and insert another SIM Card or the original card that the phone came with

8/ Turn the phone on again. The screeen will then prompt you to enter the password

9/ Type eight zeros (i.e. 00000000), then press ok.

10/ The phone will then display "network lock deactivated". The phone is then free!

11/ You should now go to the phone menu, setting,
security and disable the SIM Lock option

I used the files from winVISTA. I found out that the files I linked to, update the PDA and Eboot to i600XXGC6 but the Phone ROM to i600XXGC5. Previously I had GC2 so both are an improvement and I'm sure differences are minimal, I prefer the latest. So flashing with the winVISTA roms results in ROM for PDA, Eboot and Phone to version i600XXGC6.

I hoped for improvement on Bluetooth stack but it still doesn't sync my address book to my carkit, due to the Samsung proprietary stack.

Too bad there is no official release info available about the ROMs, I'm curious.

Fix auto settings on H3G Provider for MMS (in previous version must set manually)

I used the USB cable that came with the phone, and installing drivers. Don't know if is possible to use the serial one.
