View Full Version : Samsung D800 Screen Flickers Or Goes Blank

Hi...have a D800 with a screen problem. The screen is fine. But sometimes it flickers and sometimes whilst pressing any keys the screen goes blank and comes back to normal after a few seconds.
I'm not sure if it's a flex ribbon problem. Can someone please help? Thanks

I Have the same problem, Customer Bought Phone in Couple of days ago. i put new flex in same problem accured. so im assuming screen has gone faulty. i thought it was flex but it isent.

i av a D900 thats doing it,i can confirm this is pcb related,not flex or screen,as i tried both on different pcb,and both working great,,,,
it is definatly phones main pcb,i checked connector on the pcb,,,ok,,,
any help be apreciated...
it only occur when press top right keypad select button,an sometime the red button,and somtime number 6 key,,,,weird!!!!
i also ruled out the 2 keypad chips next to the bottom keypad conector

an update to my above post,if anyone has this flickering problem,the ans was u315,reheat or change,or even easier just put some card,folded over couple times,so bout 3-4mm thickness,just to cover this ic,then put back together,(thats what i did:))
working excellent now.
i would imagine,this would apply to other similar models,d800,d820,etc.with the screen flickering or going blank,when you use keypad.
