btw: since I somehow can't edit my prior posts I just want to add that I tried to download one of the western European Maps linked to before in this thread and this map works just fine - so it appears as if there was something wrong with the map (I think the.pna file was missing)

Thanks mate. It ALMOST worked. But everytime I select my map (Western Europe & GB) Im given a Device Code and asked to go to tomtomcode.com. But there is no where on the tomtom site to get the activation code!

I have processed the Italy map V710 and it works but in order to switch it on I have to
1 take out the SD CARD
2 Switch the device ON
3 Insert the Sd card.

In other ways I cannot switch the device on !

As I mentioned above i do not have TomTom PNA device but my understanding is thet the keygen posted does what it needs to activate it. Many people have done so. I realy can't help much more not having tried myself.

All the maps are the same with the exception of TomTom Rider maps but they are also covertable to be used on other devices. So you can download any map as long as it is compatable with the version of the TomTom you have so GENERAL rule is V5** mapd for V5 TomTom and so on ( with aa exception of V660.1223 maps which are compatable with TomTom V5).
The only thing is when you generate the activation codes with keygen than the maps generate different codes for different type of units.
Hope this clears things up for you.

1. You can use V6**.*** maps with V6.*** TomTom software. There is no TomTom V7 software for phones or PDAs yet so I assume that you have TomTom V6 so you need map V675.1409.
2. No because V7 maps would not work on your N95.
3. I do not think that V7 maps are much better, they are just differnt to be compatable with V7 software. I think the details are the same but I have to say I have not tried V7 maps because I have PDA and as I said earlier V7 software only available for TomTom units.
4. You can't mix V6 and V7 maps because one way or another one would not work but you can have as many maps from the same range like Italy 675.1409 and Spain 660.1223 amd Canary Island 650.*** they will not show at the same time you would have to go to manage maps/switch mas to change from one to another. So to conclude If you have TomTom software version V6.0**you can only use maps begining with 6. There are some exceptions to this ( before somene corrects me) some versions of TomTom 6 made for far East contries (the ones that the scond figure in the version is nor zero like TomTom V6.1** and V6.2**)
Hope that this did not confuse you even further.

Simply look for maps whos version begins with 6 and you will be OK and you can have as many of these on your card:)

I copied another file named "Mapsettings.cfg" from France or Guam mpas and put on Western_Europe_1G folder but always not success.
I know how to have an activation code for maps but my Tomtom could not detect this map (it only detects France and Guam maps) and I don't know how to use this code.

Does someone help me for somes following questions:

It isn't going to work. The fact that you have meta file means it is version 7 map and version 7 maps will not work on TomTom Navigator 6. You have to find map version 675.1409 which is the latest map that will work with Navigator 6.

It isn't going to work. The fact that you have meta file means it is version 7 map and version 7 maps will not work on TomTom Navigator 6. You have to find map version 675.1409 which is the latest map that will work with Navigator 6.

Need some help here folks. I have tt6 with Usa and Canada maps 675..... I just downloaded the Western Europe maps.... extracted to the root of my sd card, but tt6 does not see the western europe maps. What am I doing wrong.

It does work on it but you have to use external (bluetooth) receiver or different software.

If your device is PNA type than I can't see you installing TomTom on it. If it is PDA or Windows mobile phone than there are plenty of links for that on this forum.

Make sure that all the maps are on the root of your storage card and not folder in a folder. for example the map files must be in storage card/uk_and_ireland_map/ - and then all the mpa files - NO OTHER FOLDERS. Hope you understand. Have look where your UK map is now.

If you bought it recently that it most likely has TT V7 on it. That means that you need maps V7 to be able to do anything so if you have V6 maps than that is why you are not succeeding.

Garmin is good. you have to find North America map for Mapsource and unlock it to you device than you can send only the bits of map you want to your device. You can also mix and match dufferent maps. I have for example parts Europe, parts of Balkans from two different maps and part of USA and Canada all in one file.
The other good alternatives are: MioMap v3.3, Navigon V6 and CoPilot V7. They all have their advantages. CoPilot V7 is not cracked yet but it is very reasonably priced and very good. All others are on this forum.

If you have upto date maps than there are few sites around that just do POIs like http://www.poiplaza.com/. All you get is two files (or three if you have voice warning) per POI .ov2 and .bmp. Put them in you map folder and enable them in options.

But it has many advantages like using only the parts of map that you actualy need and with Mapsource you can easy change the map you have once you unlock them to your device. It aslo allows you to use Topo and Bluechart maps that TomTom Will not do in a million years. Acutally, my device ID is HTC-8900. I have the 6.75 maps and the keygen but when I copy keygen and madi file to window command prompt and input my device ID, I always get "wrong DeviceID symbols". If someone could generate an activation code for me I would really appreciate it.

I do not think there is seperate Canada map. I am afraid your are stuck with that one. You can always buy bigger card. they are so cheap nowdays.

Are you after TomTom or any other GPS software. iGO 8 is latest one with 3D buildings (very few) and 3D terrain. If you search for it on this forum there are few topics on it and in one of them I posted Australia map files.

Well....TomTom software for PDA is very user friendly but very out of date now. iGo 8 is latest with 3D buildings and terrain but it still has some old glitches that put me of it. My favorite at present is Navigon. Once you get used to it its navigating interface best suits me. Unfortunately i have not seen any maps for Australia for Navigon. So that sort-of narrows it down to iGO 8.

Well....TomTom software for PDA is very user friendly but very out of date now. iGo 8 is latest with 3D buildings and terrain but it still has some old glitches that put me of it. My favorite at present is Navigon. Once you get used to it its navigating interface best suits me. Unfortunately i have not seen any maps for Australia for Navigon. So that sort-of narrows it down to iGO 8.


What are these glitches in iGo 8 that have made you switch ??

I did a search for igo8 on this forum and I can't seem to work out which link i should download, there's so many and i have NFI which is the current program. I've also had no luck in finding the Australia maps.

Is it possible for you to show me the links? and the instructions on how to install it into my touch diamond bare inmind my phone has no card slot and it has to be put "somewhere" on my onboard storage. Please don't make me beg !!! :)

You have to gnto settings and switch maps. You can only use one map at the time.

Anyway ive downed another version of the usa and canada maps and put that on my memory card and it now works fine

That depends on a few things:

If you have TomTom V6 than yes that is the latest.
If you have with TomTom V7 than no there are later maps. There are even V8 software and maps for certain TomTom PNA devices.

I tried adding the germany austria switzerland map to my tomtom one 3rd Edition. I tired a few different ones and after activatin the map i got one to run only through the operate my one feature in tomtom home. When just using the tomtom one itself the germany switzerland austria map is not displayed and its not on the switch maps list. I am not sure what im doing wrong

Yes, the two maps need to be in seperate folders in the root. So the UK map needs to be put where and how it was originally.

just download tomtom6 and use this crack for the internal gps:

install those 3 programms, run them, and copy tomtom to your card.
