Hi Peoples Last night i actually tried several versions of the applications and i got one to work you have to sign the application and then install it with the maps..
I used it This morning as a test to get to work , i personally think tom tom is better but from what i hear its not compatible with the Nokia N95 Internal GPS.
I have just uploaded the file.

works 100% with a britain map - just change the fexplorer sis to route66 sis in the how to description - thanks for this , just what i was looking for.

Register via internet and it lets you activate manually - just enter any 16 numbers and letters as an activation

try some numbers .. one is i think muting ....
i'm stupid... i had the cellphone muted... so now i just need a bigger micro sd card. because 2 gb is full with navi an music... no more space for pictures an videos... :/

hmm i seem to have isse i haved signed the sis acc to tutorial no prob there installed to my n95 run the app
gives err of resource error resource files missing plse reinstall?

to the last post, put a map in the system folder.. that will resolve it
my problem is although i have signed route 66... when i open it i can see the message telling me to activate it, but it keeps closing its a matter of seconds it stays open for, any ideas?

hmmm... i had that error and then i put the gb map in the map folder in first page, and it went try a reinstall maybe that might help :S

try it with the hongkong map as its small, you don't need to use the uk one straight away (so i read in the other topic u posted in :))
i need to get past the closing immediately lol, hoping that your not experiancing the same thing i did :( good luck :(

thats exactly what im experiancing :( its annoying seeing everyone else on here that has there route 66 working and us 2 have the same problem, i have tried nearly every solution, searched google for *** knows how long :( i bet its something silly that we are forgetting... first one to get it to work wins :)!?!?

im presently trying every way i can try tried reinstall installed to phone installed to sd card resigned the app tried diff maps lol i aint giving up just as u say e1 else got it going so must be something overlooked
what version firmware are you using, what network/operator are you on?
have you tried maps on the phone?! i only been putting them on the memory card (and as i don't know where my usb cable is i've not looked at the phones structure (to see if i can put it on there))

im on 02 uk latest vers soft updated via nss and nokia updater and its limited to what you can see in the fone side of things
just going to backup mem card then format fone etc reset all and then retry

right .. i just did it on my brothers n95...
basically - i reformated the phone (hard reset = 3, * and call button while restarting) set up the phone again, and then first thing i did was route 66 loaded fine, map activated fine... just waiting for it to find GPS (using inbuilt gps)

just got gps signal - it takes a while (recommend you load up in tools - the gps data and leave it on gps settigns for a while to lock onto satelites) works a treat , no where near tomtom though :(

still no joy re reset had to do through tools settings etc just retrying install now
reformatted memory card, and then turned phone of and turned back on while holding 3, * and the green call button?
before that i reinstalled the update (that might make a difference :S its now runing 11.0.026

fkin whooooooooooot 5 resets later reinstalled by putting the sis on memmory card installed to phone read via a prev thread (again lol) rebboted fone dropped map into system folder apps route66 maps etc rebooted again and voila r66 started

went outside turned gps on first aquired sats in under 2 mins started r66 instant at my addy inc house no wicked :) wasnt giving up its gotta to be better than nokias ****e till we get tomtom ;)
im still getting resource error :( not nice...
ok now it starts and goes away straight away wot the hell ...
read what me and fred wrote in last 15 odd posts, we both experianced the errors you have... but now resolved it read all that we wrote and hopefully that should help you, if not then repost :)

reply this actualy works a treat been out all morn with route66 and altho it aint tomtom its a good alternative for now could do with updated map etc but hell its free ;) cant expect the world locks on no probs better than nokias offering :)

hi guys ive just signed and installed route66 on my n95.
I got the maps of my area, but now i dont know where to put the maps.
when i connect my phone on my pc and i browse to my memory card the following maps appear:

my videos
playlists
sounds

cities
documents

someone mentioned that you have to put into the system folder? i tried looking in all folders but couldnt even locate route 66. Am i doing something wrong?

Ive managed to get everything done, when i try to start route 66 it starts for a second and then just turns off. Any idea what the problem could be??

then gps data

navigation
then options then satellite status
To Those Who Experiance the On/Off Route 66:
Reset your phone to factory defaults (to do this turn your phone off, then press green call button, 3 and * and turn the phone on) this should set the phone to how you got it fresh out the box, then load your signed route 66 on there...
If you Get "Resource Error"
Its cause you haven't got any maps in the /system/apps/Route 66/maps folder
Put a map in there and it will work fine :) if that folder isn't there just create it :)
Hope that resolves everyone posting questions arleady answered :)

dunno tbh mine and mesh had sim issues so we tried ething we could think of
i redid mine 5xs b4 worked wheras mesh found doing it once on his thanks to mesh for his help but worked poss firmware version or conflicting soft on fone maybe?

when i try to plan my route with the east map of usa and starts calculating the route and shows an error and closes is anybody else having this problem?
nobody is having the same problem as me?
I can open the program (had to do the reset thing) but it says 'no gps'
however under tools the gps data can connect to the satellite
any ideas?
I went out for a drive in the car and found that it started to work. but when I select the start option to navigate to somewhere it doesnt work.
I search for a location which it then finds in the list. I select it. Then when it starts to calculate the program crashes.
Have even done the format and it still does the same thing.
Anyone else had the problem? Its so frustrating!
My girlfriend was laughing when I was playing with it cause I was getting annoyed

yes you will loose everything. anything that is saved to the phone. so if it is saved to your memory card then it will be fine
I am having the same problem as you. the program will run but as soon as it needs to recalculate directions the program crashes.

ps but when I reset my phone, every program in the memory will be reinstalled automatically? or I have to reinstall every application one by one?
all the programs will install themselves when the phone starts up. it takes a few mins.
btw. what is the tomtom program that you are talking about?

Ive got a very stupid problem
i've signed and installed route66...everything by the book!
i put the memory card into my computer and copied map in the map folder
reconnected the memory card and the route66 is not in the applications :S
where on the earth do i find it again
if i m to reinstall it the phone tells me that the application is already installed and if i want to reinstall it.
even reinstalling isn't bringing this application back in the application menu
any idea? guys?

Just wanted to let you know it also works on the Nokia 6110 navigator.
I had to format the phone and SD card for it to work.
And also i needed to go to the "get it signed prosses"
Its great this internal gps ;-) , now waiting for tomtom and cracked nokia maps. Nokia maps = route 66 software but rebranded as Nokia Navigator.

Ok need a bit of help here.
i havent installed the maps on the phone.
Im trying to locate the system directory but i cant find it.
Ive searched the root directory both on memory card and on the phone but no luck.
Ive tried to create the system directory on the phone but it just says that i cant create a directory with that name since it already exists. If i try to create it on my the phone via my computer then it just dosent change name from "new folder"
I dont have a card reader just the usb cable.
So is there a setting somewhere that iam missing? Seems to me that the directory seems to be hidden and not accesible.

I have that problem to. (Nokia 6110 navigator).
Ahh Found a solution after some searching apparently you can not se the system folder if you are connected via Pc suite you have to connect via data transfer option.
Worked for me. now i just have the problem with no GPS so ill read up on that a moment :)

Hmm ok still having problems with Route66 and finding the built in GPS. When i start route 66 tries to find a bluetooth GPS. Dosent find any. After that it just says "No GPS information." I have checked GPS data and it finds satelites.
Any ideas or am i just doing it wrong?

I have Route66.Mobile7.v7.3.520 on my N95 isn't that spouse to work with internal gps ? it most be newer than .v7.3.486 ?? or ?:p
v7.3.486 is currently the only cracked version which works with nokia n95 internal gps

is it possible to install route66 application in phone memory and let it use maps saved on the memory card? my route66 installed on memory card works fine untill i set destinaton and try starting navigation, then it shuts down.
if installing it in phone memory solves that issue it would be great to have maps (100mb) installed on mmc. Has anyone tried that? Any luck?

route66 v7.3.545 does recognize n95's internal gps, locates the current position and the map follows when moving but crashes when i try navigating even when the program is installed on phone memory.
i would like to try if v7.4.486 would work but need someone to sign that for me cuz i don't have an account at symbiansigned.

does voice directions work for this on the n95? i installed it but theres no option to turn this sort of feature on?
voice directions work with route 66 select a voice and if that doesnt work just try pressing any number 9 it is the volume mute button and also make sure your phone is not on silent not sure if that affects it but anyhow try it

i think you need to update your firmware to the latest firmware horik.
I have Route66 all signed to my phone and installed but i can't get it to work because of the resource error. I understand from reading this thread that its because my maps isn't in the correct place but i can't correct a system folder on the memory card as it says its already in use even though i've search on both phone and memory card and found no such folder.
Shall i just format the memory card and re do it all? How can i make a system folder if its taken supposedly. I don't have a pc card reader and am doing it by transfer it to the memory card via Nokia software and installing is that ok? Tomtom worked fine.

I have exactly the same problem, my firmware is totally up to date.
Route 66 comes up very briefly and then goes back to applications menu. If i quickly press options i see activate by sms, internet etc but even that disappears after about 1 second. I just dont get it! Ive done several factory resets and have maps installed.
Any help would be much appreciated
Did you put route66 on your memory card first then install it from there thats what i done and it worked fine, what phone you using

cos the "system" folder is a hidden folder in your menory card. connect your phone and your PC with USB. choose "mass storage" instead of "PC suit". then you will find the system folder.

Once you launch the app it will search for GPS signal. It will take a minute or two depending on the sky condition. I always get signal faster in the day, a little longer at night.

I get certificate constraint errors too regardless of what dates i use.
seems like the certificate dev is no longer working for newbies.

got quite a few versions of the software and loadsa different maps, all with the same result - resource files missing.
im assuming i need the devcert file on there for the soft to start?
anyone tell me what the maps are supposed to look like? i have a few that have cline and cnode files and i have now come across some .prm files
i have them in the correct folder, (i think- e:/system/apps/route66/maps/britain.prm) or the multiple files of the other kind

when you created the certificate you needed to "add" all the functions when on the options page. easily missed

you dont put the certificate on your phone, use the soft from rapidshare to incorporate the certificate into the route 66 sis file (signing). that will make the software work on the phone that the certificate relates to (the imei number used), if you dont do this you will just get the resource error

If you dont have it on your memory card, make it. If you have problem making this folder, make it on your pc and then copy the folder to the memory card.

Hi u Install route 66 on the phone memory & the maps on the memory card .
1, Install the maps on the memory card ( make sure u have the latest GBR Map and install them under E:\system\apps\route66\maps)
2, Install route 66 App on phone memory , if it displays resource error try doing a factory reset by pressing *#7370# and re-install only route 66 app .

am using a N95 8g, did have a cer and installed route66 moblie v7.3.486 and file maps australia.prm in system/apps/route66/map, all seem right i thought but when i want to use it, just click on route66 icon in applications, it's pop up " welcome to product activation. Go into your C drive>Program Files>Symbian OS Tools> Devcert Request and the .csr file should be there.
I have followed the instructions and everything works up until I try to install the signed file (Route66.Mobile.v7.3.486.N95_signed.sis). When I try to install it on the phone (using Nokia Aplication Installer) it (the phone) says thst either the certificate is out of date or invalid...or thet the phone's date is incorrect.
Could anybody tell me what I might be doing wrong?
I could aslo mention that I use "Step-to-step_tutorial__HOW_TO_SIGN_FExplorer_" as a guide to get the file signed.

does anyone know how to install route 66 from DVD to the SD card of my GPS? I tried to copy the whole Australia map directory from the dvd to the SD card but it didn't work. can anyone help me please?
