Hi!
Have a problem.
Cant understand how to flash blank siemens EF81 (without imei), becouse 3G flashing software told me that imei cannot be read ...
Are there any variants to solve this problem?

# and Power On key pressed for 5 seconds
The phone will show the Siemens/BenQ-Siemens splash screen and remain in this state
Procedure without DCA-140!
Or use QPST Software Download

DCA-140 works 100%
Choose Software Download from QPST. Select only 3 files in your 3GSwup folder. (Use 3GSwup folder with all files). But select only this:
amss.mbn
amsshd.mbn
partition.mbn
This is normally all what you need for "first try"... ;)
I bought DCA-100 (ser.), but no connection with EF81. :confused:
No idea why... Rumours said that DCA-100 must work...
But I can't confirm that by my self, because no success. :(
Again. Use DCA-140 (USB) and no trouble with Data connection und Flashing. :D
This is the STANDARD cable which came with EF81...

Imho I never found an solution to programm OFFLINE.
If you can't use Download Mode (# hold and power up), EF81 is dead.
And only chance for Download Mode is, if EF81 shows something on Display...
BenQ-Siemens Logo is an good sign of life. :)
Recapitulation for succesfully "repair" (Flashing).
1. Use only DCA-140. This is confirmed by all EF81 users...
2. Download Mode as Emergency Download is the only thing, which could help to Restore damaged Firmware and other Software problems...
3. NV items as QCN or BRT are sometimes damaged and need to Restore.
If someone has other other experience, please tell us.

Hi!
On some russian forum i have found some information about boot-erased Benq-Siemens EF81. Somebody told, that you can disconnect memory module from "WORKING-OK" mobile, then read information, stored in this memory module and then fill this information right in flash memory of a dead phone.
Could you tell me, is it right or not?
Anybody know something of this method?

Somewhere found information about flashing EF81 with COM cable, like DCA-140, but with COM connector ... May be possible to restore phone with COM cable, or not?

You know if you have a BRT File from an another Phone for Restore which has Simlock that can lock also the Phone.
I tried over BootAdapter 2000 and its working very fine..

just you need usb cable for EL71 to reflash the phone EF81 and this is very very easy just connect the phone on the pc and the phone alone converter to com . and auto the programe see the phone and press update . its very easy :D

Flash EF81 with boot it's not a problem :)
Bootloader 2000 = 20 Euro
Bootloader 2002 = 30 Euro
USB Bootadapter = 40 Euro

I don't think so, that you can "remove" something and flash Offline. :D
I have open 1 EF81, there are no removeable Chips inside... :rolleyes:
If you read Manual from QPST 2.7 Build 264:

And if u read and see Schematics of EF81... It seems JTAG Interface is missing...
But maybe I'm wrong. Rumours could be so nice. :D

Hmmm interesting... JTAGs are everytime problem :(
Btw.:
Devices without IMEI are "unfrozen"...
You can also flash patched/tweaked AMSS.mbn (Firmware). :D:D:D
256 Byte Signature is then not more important...
Check *#0606#
If u get an Errormesage you can try something... For instance remove Camersound...

JTAG Are not missing , but all lines are grounded via "testpoints" and JTAG pinout in manual are specially wrong ;-) Benq-Siemens trying to hide some sh1t from US ;-)

plz i have the same problem. my EF81 completly dead
it cant boot . plz what is NoName® method ?
If u can't see anything anymore and you have removed Battery for few minutes...
And no connection possible to PC. CHECK Device Manager from Windows!
Sometimes only Screen is black, but mobile are alive...
So you have to open EF81. Remove PCB and use special Hardware (JTAG) on special Testpoints.
Ask NoName® for instance. If he would help you to repair.
Again. U need HARDWARE + Knowledge. Not more at home self repair possible.

It was my mistake. I placed 3gswup.exe from sxg75 folder into ef81 folder and runed it. Plash process started automatic. Phone tryed to reboot but nothing happened, its dead. So, there is new boot in flash ic (boot from ef81).
Can I make reversed procedure for ef81 to write there boot from sxg75 and then change flash ic ? [SXG75 <> EF81]
