Hi,
Whe using my n70 on the '3' (UK) network with TomTom v5 using a BlueTooth GPS device, it freezes after about 5-10 minutes. I have to switch off phone and then restart.

The software version on phone is v2.0539.1.2

Im sure I read somewhere that there was a problem with one of ther firmware versions in using bluetooth.

Ive searched with no luck, can anyone help?

I have a DKU-5 cable, can I flash with this cable? If so, what software do I need?

Thanks in advance.

R.

Hi,

Ive tried to leave the GPS on charge whilst using tomtom, but still keeps freezing, thanks for the advice though.

What version of firmware do I need and where can I download this from and what tool do I use to update firmware?

Thanks.

long shot, but 6680 works better with tom tom, fact.
You could flash ya n70 to a 6680. you'd lose your radio mind.
Search for bb5 reaper follow an read the posts
to the letter,at your own risk tho m8

This is a long standing problem with the N70 and earlier firmwares. The problem is mainly caused by the speed camera databases that are speed zoned. If you use only the one 'all' speed cameras file the problem will go away. I eventually cured my '3' N70 by following the instructions in this thread

http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=344689

I could then use the Nokia System Updater to bring my firmware up to the latest version which cures the problem and allows the phone to run much faster.

...oh, and don't do what I did with my Son's N70 and enter the wrong phone models product code, It now thinks its a 6630!! see my other thread

I take it I need a CA-52/53 or DKU-2 cable for this and cant use the DKU-5 cable?

Yes, only DKU-2 or CA 53 work for flashing, DKU-5 is useful for unlock

you can use Nokia's own free software updater and the cable that came with the phone. you can charge your GPS receiver for a month......only a firmware update will solve the problem.

Within NSS, I have the Product options under theb Flash tab, I have selected RM-84 N70 and selected "0522157 Euro-1 / Stainless Silver & Black" as im on '3' network in UK, but I get an error when flashing?

MCU is set as RM84_50616203.C0
PPM is set as RM84_50616203_V2.V01

I have started GSM Magic and NSU says I have no updates!

Please can someone advise?
