when looking at what dct4 solutions to fork out on i realised that the neelix2 box which flashes mcu/ppm has the potential to do unlimited unlocking (not logs ;)) in the good oldfashioned way of partial files. does anyone know if this is possible or just an idea? has it been done yet?
cheers:)

HI DAVE.W , I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOUR THEORY OF UNLOCKING VIA PARTIALS AND I HAVE ALSO FOUND A WBE SITE THAT IS OFFERING FREE DOWNLOADS OF PARTIALS FOR 8310 ,6510 ETC. I THINK YOU MAY HAVE HIT UPON A CLOSELY GAURDED SOLUTION TO UNLOCK DCT4 PHONES FOR FREE!!! THIS MAYBE WHY NO-ONE HAS BOTHERED TO ANSWER YOUR POST ,DUE TO PAYING OUT A LOT OF MONEY FOR OTHER VARIOUS METHODS ??????????

Do the uk networks orange and t-mobile lock both locks 1&2 on the dct 4 handsets.

I suspect partial unlocking will be easier if just lock 1 is closed.

Can anyone who has experience in making dct3 partials comment on the possibilities of making partials for dct 4 phones.

spalto, G-man??

Is the flash encypted??

Hi,

I don't think this would be possible, due the fact all flash files are digitally signed.

Also I don't think that the 64 bytes signature can be broken becuase the actual calculation is available to Nokia R&D only.

But I might be wrong - who knows.

hi, i dont know if this is 100% right, but i dont think that unlocking by partial flashing is an available process, dues to the fact that the phone software has 512 bit encryption, which is almost unbreakable. Hope that helps
