Hey guys, im after a bit of info regarding unlocking an LG Prada phone. I recently bought one for use in spain from ebay and unfortunatley its sim locked to T-Mobile (which isnt available here).

I have seen the guys behind SRS unlocking are offering a remote unlock with cable, but before i signed up for that i was hoping you guys might have an easier/cheaper/alternate method i could try.

*remembers the good ol' days of inserting a code!*

Thanks in advance!

yes if you have only one phone SRS is cheapest method..
you only need an serial or FTDI KG800 cable witch you can buy in most handy shops..

take for example this shop:
http://handy-style.com/index/cat196/2538

if you have more phones there is also a nice pack. then you have unlimited LG KE series unlocking by server, unlimited code calculation for supported models by our Imei server, and 30 days long unlimited unlocking with samsung SRS only for 50 euro.

for now there is no thing like a free solution.. ;)

Awesome, thanks for the quick reply's guys, much apreciated. Looks like im gonna be looking for a cable tomorow!

The pack thing, although a great deal, is not for me as i only have one handset in need of an unlock.

Also, after re reading my post i seem a total cheap skate, its not that i begrudge paying for a service, its i was hopping by chance that i may of getting it up and running today, was looking forward to showing of at work tomorow.. Oh well.

Thanks again!

Well im a bit peeved with my new toy at the minute as it seems that i cant get a cable anywhere locally, i found a guy that unlocks LG chocolae who said he would take a look at it for me and then after 24 hours told me it couldnt be done.
I then contacted another phone shop for a cable who told me they had one, so off my GF went to pick it up for €20 only for it to turn out to be the exact same damn cable that comes with the handest!

Its annoying me now, i have the handset, i have credit to unlock it with unlocklgonline.com i just cant for the love of *** find a cable.

Im really trying to avoid buying online, so far i have requested 4 letters be posted from the UK 2 of which turned up months after they were posted.

DAMN DAMN DAMN.

I have an old pay and go sim from the uk which is in it at the minute so i can atleast have a little mess on with it, and so far i think the handset is awesome, just really wish i could get the sucker working on my spanish network!

Dont suppose i can somehow convert a default cable to be used with this service could I?
