hello and happy new year!
i've read almost all post related to N95 AND GREECE MAPS and i've downloaded several things
finally i came up to NO conclusions!

could someone help me?:(:confused:

please help me telling me
1) what program to use to navigate through the city of athens and generally greece with the nokia n95
2a) how am gonna install it in my phone
2b) please post me the links only am going to use
3) please help me because i'm reading the forums for days now and i can't understand what to do

Hi I>'m trying to get Route66 woring on my N95 8Gb....amd I have followed the instructions and everything works up until I try to install the signed file (Route66.Mobile.v7.3.486.N95_signed.sis). When I try to install it on the phone (using Nokia Aplication Installer) it (the phone) says that either the certificate is out of date or invalid...or thet the phone's date is incorrect.
Could anybody tell me what I might be doing wrong?
I could aslo mention that I use "Step-to-step_tutorial__HOW_TO_SIGN_FExplorer_" as a guide to get the file signed.

I have copied everything to a memory card and used an external GPS?

Well if you did it right it's suppose to show you your position on the map, and will give you voice guidance with turn by turn. You can go to Route66 website and download the instruction manual

i'm running tomtom 6.02 / route 66 v7.3.545 and garmin xt on a nokia n95 with a 2gig memory card

for tomtom

1. download the tomtom 6.02 for symbian 3rd gen phones (found in the early posts)
2. extract to a folder
3. copy all folder content to the root of your memory card
4. insert memory card into phone and it will install (if not install factory reset but backup phone memory 1st)
5. restore phone memory backup (if needed)
6. all is done

for route 66

1. download route 66 7.3.545
2. request a certificate
3. apply certificate to the route 66.sis (via the SignSis program)
4. copy route 66.sis to your phone and install via file manager
5. copy maps to the memory card in the folder called \system\apps\route66\maps
6. all is done

for garmin xt

1. downlaod garmin xt
2. put memory card into memory card reader or via phone in transfer mode
3. run setup.exe and follow instructions
4. download the support files and install the same way as step 1-3
5. copy the maps into the memory card folder called garmin
6. unlock you device via the keygen and your card id (imei)
7. unlock you maps via the keygen
8. copy the saved codes and put them into the SW.UNL and GMAPSUPP.UNL
9. all is done

5th, if can't install, factory reset and then insert memory card again and restart phone

This one is only useful if your in Australia though.

Hi just purchased a gps unit (no name) with route66 on it. can I put tomtom on it? as i like tomtom better.
info on the unit is
System Specification
CPU: 400MHZ
Chipset: SAMSUNG S3C2440A-40

I was told by bu to put windows mobile 6 but it did not work.
Route66 is on the SD card called ROUTE66N7 a application file. as well as the rest of the program.
tomtom needs to be installed , you can not just put it on the SD card and expect it to run. "is this correct"
I have tried tomtom for PDA, palm and mobile.

I got Tomtom 6.010(7640),driver v1.2 working on my Nokia mobile. A few questions I had:
- I have a 1GB mem slot of which currently about 930MB is usued for GPS files. I used a data reader and got the version of map as v675.1409. I used this software once and found slightly off target but with just about 1 mile round about...so, is there a latest USA map update which is available? If so, can I accomodate in a 1GB drive? Please let me know.

Each time I try to install with current date,I get error "Certificate error! time settings is incorrect.."..bla bla. I usually set it to about 4 months back to install and go ahead sometimes shows invalid certificate. Can you please provide me a cer for IMEI 357951006123569. Can you also send me a link where I can read on how to install this certificate?

Is there any other GPS software available on this forum which may be better for my 1GB card(this is for USA maps) and much accurate, say Garmin XT 4?

I have no problems with North America map, maybe you should try the 7.3.545 version.

to enable your internal gps to work on garmin xt then you need to download the keygen for garmin xt from the same thread as the garmin programs create the sw.unl and put the id code for your generated imei inside this file and save it to the memory card in the garmin folder :)

Thanks for the tip - didn't even know garmin did a symbian app, will check it out soon. I think I like the thought of just using the internal gps unit on the phone... I think I saw somebody post saying that v7 of tomtom will use internal gps units now, hopefully thats true! :)

to enable your internal gps to work on garmin xt then you need to download the keygen for garmin xt from the same thread as the garmin programs create the sw.unl and put the id code for your generated imei inside this file and save it to the memory card in the garmin folder :)

TomTom currently does not support Internal GPS on Mobile Phones and I dont Think your phone has an internal GPS, Does it? You can change maps by going on 'Preferences' then go to 'maps' (one click to the Right) then scroll down until 'map'. I am sure you can't use both maps at the same time!

Have got R66 fully installed and working with British maps and navigation works, but there I can't seem to get any voice navigation going, it's definitely not muted, ive pressed all keys and the volume is full.
Ive been looking through various threads for answers but have found nothing and the search seems to have been broken for the past few hours - anyone got any nuggets of wisdom concerning this problem?

You don't put the certificate in your N95, you just use the cert to sign the app (sis file) Run signing tool and follow example in picture

hey thanks for that, however after signing then going to appz manager in n95, i run the signed sis file then it says installing then error pops up says 'unable to install' :confused:

After you have signed the file, just install it on phone using PC suite. Once done go into application and find the app, click on it and it will start. No need to go into App manager

Yup finally kassem the link i sent you ..dont donwload the full us one download the specific region u need put all 3 files in the same location and jsut move the first onto your sd card in the map folder and itll do the rest for you hope it works for you :)

TomTom One V3, Go520 and Go 720 Custom Cursors

As the Navcore Version 7 Custom Cursors thread has grown so large it has become necessary to gather all the submitted work on one page for easy reference!

Installation Instructions
=========================

At present custom cursors are only supported on the 520 and 720 models. We will update this with other compatible models as they become known to us.


To install you need to copy the .bmp (bitmap) version of the cursor to the art\cars folder on your TomTom device. The .bmp file version of the cursor can be obtained by double-clicking the previews below. the image that is then displayed is in the correct .bmp file format and can be saved to your PC.


Install
=======

A new page will load with the .bmp version of the cursor displayed.
Save this image to your desktop or a folder on your computer. For PC's you right-click the image and choose 'Save As', for Apple Macs right-click and choose 'Save image to the desktop'.
Connect your TomTom to your computer as normal.
All that remains is for the image you saved in step 3. above to be copied to the correct folder. If you browse your TomTom device you will see a folder called art. Within this folder is a sub folder called cars. Paste the cursor image into this folder.
Activate
To select the new cursor on your device:

Open 'Change Preferences' from the Main Menu.
Select 'Change Car Symbol'
If you have correctly followed the steps above your new cursor will be shown amongst those available for you to choose from.
Select the new cursor.
Creating your own

If you want to make your own it is a simple process

Locate a suitable image or take a photo of your own car. The best cursors are those that are viewed from the rear but slightly above the car rather than from directly behind.
The image size should be re-sized to 80 x 80 pixels.
TomTom automatically sets any part of the image that is red (RGB 255,000,000) to transparent
For optimum results a continuous 1 pixel white border should be added around the cursor.
The image should be saved as .bmp (bitmap).
You can easily experiment with your cursors or take a look at some of the ones supplied with the device to see how they have been designed.

Hey kassem and anyone else that needs US maps for Route 66 ive tested only the US East maps and they work perfectly from this site http://rapidshare.com/users/E65RBJ from this site id suggest selecting your specific area eg. us east ..us south east ..etc etc..download them all to the same folder then unzip the first one to your maps folder on ur sd card and the rest will go automatically..im gonna upload the 3 east files to megaupload all zipped up in 1 package will post when im done

2. open up on computer then go upto Tools\folder options\veiw

3. go down to Hidden files & folders and select show hidden files & folders.

after doing this you should now see the system folder on your memory card.

Go to system\apps\route66 and create a folder and name it maps and place your downloaded maps into it.

It should now work but if you still have the same problem you can do a system reset by typing *#7370# but this will return the phone to it's factory state wiping off any photo's or music etc you have installed so backup any files you wis to save, you would also need to reinstall route 66 as above(creating map folder etc).

Hi BuMobiles i am totally confused trying to install garmin as i can't get it to find internal gps, some posts are saying use imei in keygen to make the SW.UNL file whilst others are saying use card i.d, is the program any better than route 66 or tomtom as i have got both of these installed and thought it might be easier to buy a blueetooth gps for tomtom.

use the garmin xt keygen from the few pages back and use the card id no in the setting, about screen.

if no card id is shown then use a imei to card id converter ?

Allows you to sign you apps by using multiple signing keys at once
All you need to do is
1, Click on Sis File Needed to Sign
2, Click on the Certificate File for the Selected Device (i.e 123456121234567.cer)
3, Click on the Signing Key File (i.e Sultan.key, Bin.key)
4, Click the Sign App Button.
5, After your App is Signed you'll have a File Called "Signed.sis" in the Same folder where the app is
6, if you need to delete the backup files just press the "Delete Temp Files Button"

Hi, Not really sure, according to a post by BuMobile tomtom scrapped the idea of releasing v7 for mobiles but you could ask him if there has been any further developments on this.:(

Right now i am using Garmin and Route 66. i will be going to australia soon to work . And ya it is better to be prepared with all the maps and etc. however most of the maps are locked.

Glad you got it working,just have a play about with it to work out what does what as it will be easier than trying to explain how to use it,or try route66 website you may find a user manual on there.:D

BUMobiles - seems to be an issue with the cer file you sent me - tried with two different apps - "Constrained by the certificate" error - using process I am used to - double checked IMIE - seems ok - any chance you could try again - sorry to be a pain - N95 on vodaphone - thanks once again - Barry P

when i try to instal the r66, after signing it (and afert coping it on the phone), it interupt the installation.
the interruption happen after 15-20 second after telling where to instal it.
the phone give me this warning when it interrupt:
"access needed for the aplication denied"

Just try to install it using PC Suite from your PC
