If it doesn't work try version 7.3.486 it also supports internal GPS on 6110.

If you get an error message where it says you need to select a blutooth gps,
then it's fake or old (if you installed an other version first delete that one).
Other wise it says NO GPS while searhing for signal aswell so wait a couple
of minutes to see if it's working or not.

If it still doesn't work try the 7.3.486 version it also supports the built in GPS.

b) what is the difference between 6.01 and 6.02

c) where i can get the latest version of uk maps for tomtom.

then try signing it with the sultan.key it should work!

if it ask's you for a key it's 0123456


Sign you Apps in DETAIL

First you need a tool to create a request, After generating the request, login at

symbiansigned.com, and go to My Symbian Signed -> Developer Certificates -> Request and upload

your generated .csr file and you will get your certificate.

More Information for generating the request:
In the DevCertRequest Program:

1. Under "Specify name of the output file:" enter any name, you may even put in your name. Click

Next
2. Under ACS Pub ID available, change the radio button to No
3. The Public Key file section will now be available. Click the button (...) next to it and

select the sultan.key in the attachment
4. Enter the Private keyfile password which is 0123456. Click Next
5. Enter the mandatory country, state and company. You can put your name under Company if you

like. Click Next
6. Under IMEI(s), click the (...) button again and enter your mobile IMEI, then click Add, and OK
7. Next make sure all the items in the Application Capabilities are highlighted, click the Add

button and then Click Next
8. Your Certificate is now created. You need to upload the certificate back to the Symbian Signed

website to change from .csr to .cer.

i just signed and installed route66... now i wanted to put the maps into system/apps/route66/maps, but nowhere was this folder... so i created it und put the DACH.prm map into it!
but all the time when i start route66 the resource-file error appears... whats wrong????

the folder structure is hidden when viewed through the PC Suite connection type - if you're connecting via usb you should select a different connection type (when it pops up on the phone side). Browse using 'my computer' or equivalent with hidden files set to visible.

You'll be able to see the right directory structure then.

If you just update your firmware of your tomtom one (v1)

then maps up to 6.75.1409 should work, but you will have to activate them after!

Need a bit of help.... i have TT 6 on my n73....works very well....i have just got the new uk map think it's _1409...now the instructions with it say i would need a act key....i put it on the mem card...no need for act key...i can swap between the old and new map.......but on the new map my home location is greyed out and i cannot seem to update it....do i have to copy a file from the old map folder.....is there anything else i should be doing???

Also when updating the cameras etc do you delete the old ones first...whats the procedure????

ok i have it all up and running now on a nokia n95 first impresions not as good as tomtom but will do for now i used this guide to install it if it helps any1 else
connect N95 to PC
select "PC Suite" mode in Nokia Application Loader
install signed Route66 .sis file onto your N95
select install to "memory card" NOT "phone memory" !!!
after install is complete, exit application, DO NOT RUN IT YET !!!
disconnect and reconnect N95 to PC again
select "Mass Storage" mode this time
*** UNHIDE hidden folder first ! in Windows
My Computer ->Tools -> Folder Options -> View -> Show Hidden files and folders
copy map (example: E-CDN.prm) into System\Apps\Route66\maps folder on phone memory card
If there is no maps folder, create a new folder called maps
TO ADD MAP TO ROUTE66:
in memory card you will see a folder called System
open it and you will see a folder called Apps
open it and you will see a folder called Route66
open it and you will see a folder called maps, and there is where you put
the map. example E-CDN.prm
After a new map is added select from the menu "Activate via internet".
Register with any 16 digit alpha-numeric character code.
If you get resource files are missing message at start-up, it is because
you installed an incompatible map.
If you are having difficulty when you reach the "activate via internet" step and the applcation closes, then do this :
see attached zipped file (ActivationKey.zip)
unzip the attached zip file
connect your n95 to your pc
select "mass storage"
unhide hidden system files
navigate to System\Apps\Route66 folder
drop the file that you unzipped earlier ActivationKey.dat into the Route66 folder
restart your phone and relaunch the Route66 application



and this if your using vista to find the files
This tutorial shows the user how to view hidden files and folders on their system.

Seeing your hidden files and system files in Vista is not much different than in XP. Here are the step-by-step directions. Remember that system files are hidden for a reason. Don't go messin' around with stuff.

1. Click the round blue Start thing in the left corner
2. Click Control Panel
3. Click Folder Options
4. Click the View tab
5. Click Show hidden files and folders
6. If you want to see system files as well, unclick Hide protected operating system files (Recommended)
7. Click OK

some may experience a bit problem with r66 v7.3.468 when they first install on N95 (Idiots like me!).I thought to show all of them how i resolved those problem.
1. resource error - This may be because you have no map files in the card or installed a noncompatible map. so after install the r66, you need to find the system file on your memory card, it may be hidden, so you need to go to control panel-folders-view and tick the "view hidden folders and files". then you connect the card to your computer to see the system folder-app-r66 and make a new folder in it call it as maps, in that folder you can install the map.prm files.
2. no gps- you need to go to the phone's tool menu and find "gps data". you may need to hold your phone outside a bit to locate some satellites and give some time to lock to satellites, now go back and run your r66 on the phone, give some 1-2 minutes, it should start working.
Finnally, thanks to everyone who helped me to get this helpful software on mobile. many thanks.

Everything seems to work like search and plan route etc..

BUT.. everytime i click

Options.. 1start.. Enten any place name.. Select any place..Options.. Navigate to..

as soon as i click navigate to.. i see the searching screen for one sec and then the route66 closes right away..

i have kept trying and trying but it keeps closing and closing..

What is the problem ?

Hmm, i also have unkown on the GPS information until i find GPS information.
In the settings i don't have the GPS setting, only Default GPRS.
But i know i had that GPS options in the past.

Here is what i would do now in your situation.
1. Does Nokia Maps work (show current GPS position)
2. If not, uninstalling and deleting all route66 files and folders.
then try installing v7.3.545 from this link:

Remember that the first message always looks like it's not working until
you get your GPS position =)

Hmm, i also have unkown on the GPS information until i find GPS information.
In the settings i don't have the GPS setting, only Default GPRS.
But i know i had that GPS options in the past.

Here is what i would do now in your situation.
1. Does Nokia Maps work (show current GPS position)
2. If not, uninstalling and deleting all route66 files and folders.
then try installing v7.3.545 from this link:
http://rapidshare.com/users/2UG51R
(program and maps published by a701user)


Remember that the first message always looks like it's not working until
you get your GPS position =)

I used the application installer. It then says "preparing to install" then asks to install mobile 7 Yes No I select Yes but then comes up with an error "certificate error contact supplier"

Is this where I need a signature ?

That's no problem just click on free and download. (next to premium)
I'm not premium, and thats how i do it.
(After each download you have to wait a couple of minutes,
for each 100 MB file it's something like 3 or 4 hours until the
next download so i start with smaller files and download heavy files
before i go to bed and in the morning)

The reason i point to that link is that it's working and there
are the latest maps (better to download once and have the latest).

Hi Jerry,
Read the tread called "Help You All Here Get SIGNED The Apps !!!!!!"
There you can get help signing the application plus get a certificate.
Remember to search the forum before posting =)

You need to copy the map into E:\system\apps\route66\maps
first. Then try opening the appilcation again.

trickydave, sorry to be a pest, I know you are being very helpful but the cer file you did for me, is not signing. error messages, saying wrong password for sultan, or invalid cer, or not decrypting etc.
But I checked by downloading somebody else's file and it did sign, so I am not being stupid.
