trickydave, sorry to be a pest, I know you are being very helpful but the cer file you did for me, is not signing. error messages, saying wrong password for sultan, or invalid cer, or not decrypting etc.
But I checked by downloading somebody else's file and it did sign, so I am not being stupid.

I put all the route 66 files in the app/route66 folder, then the maps in the maps folder, but the programe DOESN'T load up.

Well, you made a .cer with the wrong .csr. You used the .csr of post #484 named dzed.csr.txt (http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/attachment.php?attachmentid=120694&d=1188641372) to create 'my' .cer. My orginal post is #485 where my .csr named cert.csr.txt is attached.

I dont have the password and .key of dzed.csr.txt and therefore cannot sign any .sis.

Conclusion in short:
I hope you can make a .cer for me using the attached .csr. My IMEI code is 356962011246437

Windows Interface!!! very simple activation of TomTom maps
First->Install -> then Select Map version -> Select Map midi -> Enter Device code/ID -> hit View code, & enter Code for your device!.
If you find your map is not in the list you can copy the midi.file into the existing directory (C) after install, or you can create a new directory!

Talking Speed Camera's

1. Download and extract files into the map folder
(don't forget to put the speed camera's in the same folder too)
2. Make sure you have renamed the voice files to the same name as the speed camera
3. i.e Gatso_30.bmp and Gatso_30.ov2 are the gatso 30mph speed cam so need to rename 30.ogg to Gatso_30.ogg
4. Select menu, Prefs, Manage POI's, Warn when near, then set up you distance to each Speed Camera the voices will auto select if named correctly!

In short:
Route66 on phone memory && Maps on SD --> sound should also be on SD.
Route66 on phone memory && Maps on phone memory --> OK.
Route66 on SD && Maps on SD --> OK.

I am really interested in technical details since I do not understand what is going on in my mobile so if you have time and you feel like please answer to me.
I am new in symbian world but having other programming and IT knowledge.
I have been playing around with Route 66 on my Nokia 6110 Navigator for 2 days but I am having the following feelings.
1.) Currently only Route 66 can detect internal gps in Nokia 6110 Navigator. (Tried some other but only bluetooth was supported as I could see. Smart2go for sure works but do not like that too much and anyway Navigation feature expires.)
2.) The only way is to install Route 66 on my mobile is to sign it with a development key. I tried to self sign but it did not work since it said this application requires a trusted cert. Is it possible to self sign it without development key? Or is it possible to trust the key I used to sign and install the self signed version?
3.) IMEI is required to sign this. This is just a conclusion since everybody is providing IMEI in the requests. Why? Is it requested during signing?
4.) www.symbiansigned.com closed or suspend sign up so we have no chance to create an account.

Sorry, it does not (just tested it). It works, but no N95 internal GPS recognition.

i dled the map of east canada for route 66 but it was too big for my memory card so i bought a new 2gb one.

1. i think im supposed to put the map (.prm extension) in a system/apps/route66/maps folder but the directory doesnt exist.
2. i tried creating it but it wouldnt work. im using a nokia 6110 navigator.
3. 1 last thing, im using rogers but i have a built in gps: am i supposed to connect through vpn since theres no mms here.

1. Download and extract files into the map folder
(don't forget to put the speed camera's in the same folder too)
2. Make sure you have renamed the voice files to the same name as the speed camera
3. i.e Gatso_30.bmp and Gatso_30.ov2 are the gatso 30mph speed cam so need to rename 30.ogg to Gatso_30.ogg
4. Select menu, Prefs, Manage POI's, Warn when near, then set up you distance to each Speed Camera the voices will auto select if named correctly!

just download and copy to the maps folder on your tomtom device!

I wish to reinstall Route66.Mobile.v7.3.545 to my memory card instead as I've running out of phone memory. I remember a few people said they were able to install it onto their memory card with success, however when I've done it there is no route66 icon created in the Applications menu. The icon only appears when it is installed into phone memory.

I have succeeded in getting Route66 7.3.545 running on my N95 with audio navigation (had to move british.ogg). In doing so I noticed all the audio is contained within one .ogg file. Are there any replacement ones available for Route66, the girls's voice just isn't sexy enough!!
Or alternatively does anyone know what codec the contents of the ogg are encoded with, so I can have a play around myself?

Installing Route 66 POI's
=========================
Note This is for the Pocket PC version of the software not the Smart Phone installation, but we are informed it also works corectly on the RAC PNA devices using the Route 66 software, please see HERE for additional details, many thanks to thesouthtoonarmy for confirming this.
1/ Download the camera database, in the dropdown box select “Route66”, in the next dropdown box select UK- Speed Zoned complete CSV (23 files, and I don’t understand why you would want anything less than this) – Save this to a know location, for example (c:/Route66scameras) create this if you are not too sure right click the desktop of the PC and select “New Folder”, then call it Route66scameras.
2/ Dock and connect to your PDA with the PC, select all the bmp and csv files stored in the above folder (should be 46 files in total), Right click and select “copy” from the pop-up box.
3/ In Windows Explorer go to mobile device/ Storage Card/ POIS/ Britain then right click and select “Paste”, this will copy the required files across to the device.
4/ If you find the Storage Card/ POIS/ Britain folder doesn't exist simply create it before copying the files across to the device

Audio Warnings for POI’s (what’s not in the manual)
================================================== =
On the SD card of the Pocket PC there needs to be a folder named POI resident within the SPEECH folder, if its not there create one, drop your audio files into this, they must be of the .OGG file format,
Configure each of the warnings, once you have performed the above fire up Route 66 on the PPC and tap the screen, select the “POI” icon (lower Left) then POI Alarm (middle Left) then select each camera in turn and configure as required in terms of screen position, distance, on route or not, finally select the sound you want per camera icon.
A word of warning with respect to the "warn if POI on Route", this really does mean is the POI on the route, with very little margin for off route locations, I have un-ticked the box on my device as I found it too unreliable in the local area, where a large number of mobile cameras are on parallel adjacent roads.

1, download your app
2, sign your app with the tools on these pages
3, copy app to memory card
4, download the selected map files (i.e britain.prm)
5, copy the map file to the memory card under the system\apps\route66\maps folder
6, install the app and follow the on screen info
7, choose activate via internet
8, enter any 15 digit no
9. all done!

my 6110 navigator shippment to Europe..Its not contain middle east map (r0ute 66)..I copied the middle east map from other mobile ,now it asking lisence key..and it will cost 49.95Euro....there is any solution for this..

im trying to apply the certificate to the app, but it keeps saying failed to sign, some thing wrong with certificate ? what shall i do ?

although it said failed, it did create another file which said it was signed so i went to install it on my phone, but when i open it on my phone it says 'resource files are missing. please reinstall the application.'

ive tried various this including creating a route 66 folder, chuck all the files in there , then create a maps file inside that and put the map inside that map folder.

now , the icon has changed on my phone from the route66 logo to just a random shape and when i click on it , it does nothing, stays still.

What am i doing wrong ? thanks guys

got signed with cert file with my n95's IMEI .. installed map andall but no luck

backup phone data to the memory card,

then factory reset your phone by typing *#7370#

now install the signed app

and copy the map files into the folder \system\apps\route66\maps

all done!

(p.s. your app will be found in applications)
