TomTom v6, Route 66 v6-7 Software and Maps

I dont seem to have a SYSTEM folder, i have SYS, i made a folder inthat called APPS and put the ROUTE66 folder and the MAPS folder in that, but when i click on Route66 on my n95 it sort of just jumps, doesnt open, and just goes back to the menu screen.

What shall i do ?

backup phone data to the memory card,

then factory reset your phone by typing *#7370#

now install the signed app

and copy the map files into the folder \system\apps\route66\maps

all done!

(p.s. your app will be found in applications)


Thanks mate .. problem was not that.. Problem occured because i was installing program onto memory card instead of phone memory to save memory.
It has to be installed into phone memory.. that was my problem.

Use memory card reader, (or try connecting by using method as MASS SOTRAGE of N95) open your media drive memory .

copy your signed application of route66 into memory card and then Install it..

Make sure to install program on phone memory (it did not work on memory card installtion at my end)

after installation select registerd via net and enter any 15 digit no!
(may try this one Q3JF8PCILZFGMJPR)

Goto TOOLS->FOLDER OPTIONS->VIEW and select VIEW HIDDEN AND SYSTEM FILES

now you will be able to see SYSTEM folder.
copy the map files into the folder \system\apps\route66\maps
( filename wil be Britain.prm )

now go to Applications and you will be able to see ROUTE66 .. now its time to little walk about. Run your route66 applicaiton .. it will say NO GPS ..

it does not mean that it has not detected GPS DEVICE. It only means that it has not yet recieved proper GPS Signals. you can check GPS Signals using internal N95 GPS satellite software to check signals.

Go outside and wait about 5 mins until it gets signals properly. Tips to recieve

Quick GPS signals are..
1- Do not try to lit LCD again and again by using any buttons because more electricity consumptions genrates electromagnatic waves so it effects reciving GPS signals.
2. lift mobile at high position for quick results.

now wait until u get your route66 works.

2nd, reinstall the app
3rd, copy the maps into the folder called \system\apps\route66\maps on the memory card
4th, load app and click activate via net
5th, enter any 15 digit code
6th, you all done......!

Problems again... (R66+N95)

R66 should be installed according BuMobile's intructions and version is newest.

I can't get Scandinavian map downloaded to my phone. First I tried one map, which didn't have Finland at all(only Sweden+Norway). Then I found two other maps, which are almost twice a size as first one. I tried both of them. When I'm loading map from pc to phone, it starts well, but almost at the end it stops and gives me a notificaton about some parameters! What does that mean?

Of course notification is in finnish and I can't translate it in english word by word, but it's something like "no good parameters" or "failure with parameters".

Help me out, please!

From going through the threads i need a certificate - is that a seperate file or is that the above SIS file signed with my IMEI number?

1, create a csr file (use the Device Request Program)
2, Login into www.symbiansigned.com and enter name and password!
3, click on the "My Symbian Signed"
4, click the "Developer Certificates"
5, Press Request
6, Enter the ID NO (Show in the hollowgram picture)

Please ensure you have used of the Developer Certificate Request tool to create your CSR file. If you have not used this tool then your uploaded file will not be valid and a developer certificate will not be issued!

Generating a DevCert can take a few minutes...please wait while your request is being processed.

Please type in the security code seen in the picture below using only letters A-F and numbers 0-9

7, click browse, then select your csr file
8, press send!
9, click the download button when the certificate has been made

1. Rename the certificate from [IMEI.CER] 1234567121234567.cer to xxxxxx.cer
2. put it in the same folder as the Signing Tools (sultan.key, auto_signsis.bat and signsis.exe)
3. copy your route66.7.3.486.unsigned.sis or route66.7.3.545.unsigned.sis to the same folder
4. click on the auto_signsis.bat and it should make you a signed app

How to Install
==========

1. extract Route 66.7.3.545.rar to the Root of the Memory Card
(i.e it should say \ROUTE66 and \SYSTEM)
2. copy the Signed App to the ROUTE66 Folder
3. load the N95 up and make sure all messages are deleted from inbox
4. load file manager and go to memory card\route66 and click on the app to start the installation
5. press ok to all screens and select mem card for installation
6. when completed, load up and select reg via internet and enter any 16 digit code!

the route66 v7 is incredible , **** tomtom and nokia - i really mean it, connected to more than ten satellite in less than 30 secs. i used it after installation and believe me it was incredible just like the real thing (sat nav from the shop), while testing i did took a wrong turn and it recalculate my route in seconds. thumbs up

Sorry I dont quite understand what you mean.

I have a 6110 Navigator, and Route 66 is pre-loaded on the phone, so there is no Route 66 app that I can check the 'about' on.

The dvd that came with my phone had Route 66 sync on it with a heap of maps that you can buy etc.

So to get Route 66 7.3.545 on the phone I would have to format and restet the phone?

I have been trying to search for a step-by-step guide to do all this, it's starting to sink in, slowly :)

Making a Device Request Certificate File

1. Specify the Output Name (i.e 123456121234567.csr)
2. on the ACS PUB ID Availible Screen select NO
3. browse for the Private Key file and select the Sultan.key
4. Enter the Private key password (0123456)
5. now enter the required fields (i.e. Name, Company, etc)
6. then enter the required IMEI (i.e 123456121234567)
7. Select All Capabilities and then Press Next
8. Press Finish, Your CSR file is Created!

What Phone is it?

1st, try factory reset the phone
2nd, format the memory card
3rd, install the signed app
4th, copy ther maps into the folder called "\system\apps\route66\maps"

that should work fine on any symbian 3rd gen phone

if you are wanting poi's they are 82 poi's build into the mobile 7 version of route 66, but can't add custom poi's

your sound won't work if

1, have silent mode activated
2, you have disabled in the route 66 options
3, you have turned voume down to 0

1st download the flash memory clearer

all you need to do is leave phone slide open

then load the route 66 software

and make sure that your setting in the phone are set to use 'internal gps' not network gps or bluetooth gps

Sorted now, i reinstalled route 66 opened nokia maps and got a gps signal then used returned to the menu with the maps app open and opened route 66 and within 5 seconds had a signal !!!!

I have already found some maps but I think they are for the PC or pocketPC as the extension is .prm. The files that the mobile has on the memory card for Australia ( where I am and bought the phone ) are .map or atleast thats what they show up as.

(Download the ready cer file from above site aswell)
After that you should be able to sign the file =)

Did you sign it with the right IMIE ?
It's easy to get a number wrong and then it's not valid for your phone.

Hi,
For your region use the program and map on the phone.
For the others install an aditional program (Route66 version 7)
like on an N95. Then simply add the maps you want.
There are alot of links and instructions on this forum =)

Sorry I don't get this. I get an red ! and the phone is saying that the certificate does not allow this. I've generated the .cer myself, also I have had 1 file generated in here, and they are identical. I've tried to set the date for 31/12-2007 + empty the inbox, do the *#7370# (factory reset) twice and even 4 times.... and stll it does not work. My phone is software version 12.0.013.. Please advise...

you add the speed camera's by copying the files into the maps folder

but if you have downloaded the tomtom one 3rd edition speed camera's they don't work on any other device

also tomtom go 300, 500, 700 can be updated to tomtom one v4 firmware by just moving the maps, formatting the memory card and copying the the new tomtom one v4 formware on to it then copying the original maps back on or downloading a new version of maps.

lastest version are 6.75 offical releases

then using the keygen activator on the previous pages to activate

thank you for your excellent support. According your description I was able to create a sighned SIS-File. And I installad a few ROUTE 66 pakages and copied the sighned files to directory ROUTE66 and installed via application menu in my phone in some cases I was able to enter the reg key (and choosed reg via internet). I need only the german map which I copied to the maps directory and I entered any 16 charachters but I received the error message "Invalid "Product key"!" I resetted my N95 to default configuration and tried with an other downloaded package and now I get the message "Resource files are missing. Please reinstall the application". I never spend so much time for an other software in my live as I tried the install Route 66 since weeks. Could you tell me please which software package I should to install? I downloaded some links given here at rapidshare some of them include only a ...545.SIS file but no one helped me. I'am very confisued.

1st, downlaod a cracked version of the route 66
2nd, you need to copy the maps to your memory card in a folder called "system\apps\route66\maps"
3rd, install and reg with any 15 digit no by selecting reg via internet:p

I have installed a cracked version it is the "Route66_7.3.545.Patched.UnSigned.SIS". I signed it and after the installation I copied this signed file to "system\apps\ROUTE66" My map (DACH.prm from 17.06.2007) is located in directory "system\apps\ROUTE66\maps". I put my sd-card in my N95 and install Route66. After installation I get now again "resource files are missing". This is 1 step behind the activation. with an other package was activation not successful.

The best way to solve this problem I think to tell me the right link of cracked Route66. Otherwise I assume I will also next year the same troubles.

i dled the map of east canada for route 66 but it was too big for my memory card so i bought a new 2gb one.

1. i think im supposed to put the map (.prm extension) in a system/apps/route66/maps folder but the directory doesnt exist.
2. i tried creating it but it wouldnt work. im using a nokia 6110 navigator.
3. 1 last thing, im using rogers but i have a built in gps: am i supposed to connect through vpn since theres no mms here.

You downloaded ther wrong map files, you want map files with the ext - .map

.PRM are for route66 mobile version 7

it seems that everyone here in the know about this stuff are simply incapable of r-engineering Route 66 version 6 ( the one that comes with the Nokia 6110 Navigator ) Yet they are able to easily r-engineer and bypass version 7.

I have read that version 6 is much better though a little slow picking up you location at first

Sorry I'am again, but I think installed according to your instruction above:
- I unziiped the installation package witch includes the for me needed map D.A.CH the I execute on my pc the setup.exe form installaion package.
The installation routine formats my SDcard and installs Route 66 on sdcard.
Then I copy the cracked and signed SIS (with my IMEI number) to "system\apps\ROUTE66"
And I put the sdcard in my N95 and install via application installer.
Install finishes successfuly.
When I start Route66 I have to activate my map
I enter any 16 digit numbers but I receive the error message "activation was not successful!"
What is wrong?

May be I need an other cracked SIS file? The links in this forum with cracked SIS are not valid. Where can I get a cracked SIS.

Either I do a failure during installation or the suhggested cracked file is not cracked...?

I installed Route66 as you above wrote with a difference (see step 4):
1: Hard reset *#7370#
2: Format memory card
3: Copy signed application to phone (by USB)
4: Copy map files to \system\route66\apps\maps
This step is not possible to execute if the sdcard inserted in the phone,
because the operating system of the phone do not allow to create the
directory "system", it is already on the card but not visibel in phone.
Therefore I put my sdcard at this point in my card writer and copied my
map to \system\route66\apps\maps. It is the only one possibility to copy
the maps.
5: Install app (after I've inserted the sdcard the installation started automatcally). The installation was succesfull.
6. And I gat the error message "recource files are missing".

I copied missing directory "resources" from an unzipped Route66 files from "MultiMediaCardImage" directory and some missing directories to my sdcard via my card writer.
Now is the error message "recource files are missing" away.
I choosed activation via internet and entered any 16 digits and get as response: "Acivation failed"

It is unbeliveble that it works by you and not by me.

The only different thing can be the cracked SIS file. Could you send me the link where you downloaded the SIS file?

Thanks for all your help! Followed your steps and got Route66 v7.3.545 working a treat! Only problem is its a bit of a ghey program, and having seen TomTom in action, i now want that going.

I've purchased a bluetooth GPS, however im just trying to work out which version of TomTom to use. I've seen v6.0.30, but you have v6.0.20, which is better?

Also, can somebody link up the Australia map compatible with that version? Also anything else that could be of use (ie speed camera's, voices etc)

Put your voices directly in the tomtom directory.

Say your memory card is e:\
then it would be under e:\tomtom\
(alot of files like: data.chk data00.chk data00.vif )

Maps should be under somethin like:
e:\Scandinavia\
(alot of files like: cline.dat cnam.dat scandinavia.mid )

or

e:\Eastern_Europe\
(alot of files like: cline.dat cnam.dat eastern_Euope.mid )

the one that i have downloaded from torrent is in *PRM which is different from *MAP format

How do i get one in *MAP extension

Tried the factory reset, but I am still getting the message "unable to instal.....constrained by certificate":(:mad::(

1, on your memory card goto \system\apps\route66\maps and copy your *.prm file to there
2, copy the signed app to the memory card
3, run the signed app from the phone, following all notices
4, load the route 66 mobile 7
5, select activate via internet
6, enter any 16 digit number
7, all sorted!

I have downloaded but it didnt install on my N95. I have read all posts here and I have done everything I could. I used signin tools and.... but still doesnt let me to install and get error in signing tools.
Im good in computer and IT, Never had any problem with other software before but this one ...!
