i have downloaded the speed camera zip files for route 66 and for tomtom mobile 6 but where do i put them? what folder do i put them in on my mem card or what do i actually do with them?

Is anyone able to run the full western europe R66 map on the N95? I can copy it to my 4GB microSD, run R66 and select it as the active map. But once I shut down R66, I can no longer restart, it just hangs on the R66 boot screen. Only option is to remove the map from the microSD and install another.

No, redownloading doesn't help. I have tried the map from3 different sources and both the patched versions of R66, but the result is still the same. Perhaps the R66 soft is unable to use a 4GB card?

Good afternoon all,I'm having some trouble getting route 66 to run on my new nokia N95.I've succesfully installed Route66 Mobile 7.0.989 onto my device, and it seems to run ok, however, it can't find any gps satellites. Bearing in mind I'm trying to use the internal gps receiver, I was wondering if you guys have any tips/info regarding this issue?I've turned my GPS on when trying to run the application, but it simply refuses to work. This file has the info you need.....hard part here for me was getting an account with symbiansigned as it will only allow certain email addresses but i managed to get one in the end.

Cool! Thanks for that angelvasmil. But, where do I get a certificate from? The only file I've got is Route66.Mobile.v7.3.486.N95_unsigned.sis. Assuming I get the certificate, I can complete the installation right? Another thing: does this version use the inbuilt GPS module? And maybe I can help anybody out with some maps. I've got some maps that are all .prm format. They all come from ver. 7.0.989. They are: Athens, Benelux, Britain, DACH (whatever that is), Easterneurope, EuropeMR, France, Iberia, Italy, and Scandinavia. If these are of any use to anyone just let me know.

Nope, ran it from both pc and on mobile through pc suite, have reset to factory settings, phone restarted, tried again through both modes, still get the warning about being used for developement purposes, I choose yes. gives me the data on the program i am trying to install I click OK then it installs or tries to and comes back everytime and " unable to install, constrained by certificate "

Need help here, losing my mind.
Can someone please supply me with another certificate, will try again, I have the sultan.key, I have autosys etc just need another certificate or atleast help on geing this damn thing working

if you guys have any problems on getting your dev cert signed ill be here to help first you just have to download the devcert request program and make that for your imei number and then upload your .csr file which will then give you the dev cert you need to sign route 66 to your imei number

here is a guide i have found to getting a dev cert for anyone who wants to use it
1. Register and get an account at http://www.symbiansigned.com/

2. Download and install SymbianSigned Dev Cert Request tool from https://www.symbiansigned.com/DevCertRequest_30_10_2006_v2.0.exe Note: this is MS Windows program!

3. Run the Dev Cert Request tool to create Dev Cert Request. When asked if "ACS Publisher ID" is available, select "No". Create private key file (private_key.cnf) and remember Private key file password - you will need it later! When you are asked which capabilities you need, add all of them. When you are asked for IMEI number of the device, enter your phone's IMEI.

4. Go to SymbianSigned, log in and go to "My Symbian Signed" -> "Developer Certificates" -> "Request" (or directly to: https://www.symbiansigned.com/app/barclayhtml/devcert/requestupload.jsp ) . Submit the .csr file created by the SymbianSigned Dev Cert Request tool in above steps. Note: ignore the orange box, this involves capabilities that were not listed in the Request tool.

5. Go to "My Symbian Signed" -> "Developer Certificates" -> "My DevCerts" and download the certificate from there.


6. If you have not done so before: Go to Forum.nokia.com and find the page "S60 Platform SDKs for Symbian OS, for C++" (It might be this page: http://forum.nokia.com/info/sw.nokia.com/id/4a7149a5-95a5-4726-913a-3c6f21eb65a5/S60-SDK-0616-3.0-mr.html ). Download latest SDK, currently 3rd ed. FP1. Install it. Note: this is MS Windows program and has to be installed in MS Windows.


7. Now, get the key file, certificate file and the sis file into a single directory (it's easiest, but not necessary). Then run from command line:

signsis -cr -s unsigned.SIS signed.sis your.cer your.key yourpassword

* unsigned.SIS - the unsigned file
* signed.sis - the signed file that will be created
* your.cer - your certificate file
* your.key - your key file
* yourpassword - the password I told you to remember from when you created the certificate request.

i tryed uninstalling and that didn't work either maybe i should format the memory card and re install ?

if you install route 66 7.3.545 that will sort out the problems, but it's recomended that you factory reset the phone 1st before installing

i'm currently using 7.3.545 and the phone is brand new
any way after i posted this uninstalled route 66 then i erased all the files in my memory card, recopied route66_7.3.545.patched.unsigned.signed.sis & Britain.prm to my memory card, then installed the sis file and run the application from the application folder. Gave me the msg that some files are missing so i replugged the usb and moved Britain.prm to system>route 66>Maps

after that i could heard the woman saying welcome

1) Which latest version can be installed on PPC running Windows CE3.0(ipaq 3950.) ( I tried to install version 6.0 but failed, dont know why)
2) is it possible to install maps v675 on TTN5.00.
3) I have been regularly updating sppe camera database on my TTN6.0, running on N73( Thanks to Umster and you). now when i installed this database on my Ipaq and selected these as POI alerts, it asked me to choose the alarm for each ( this never happened on TTN6 on my N73, alerts for sppedcams are in voices) are there any files missing .

hi wizard4it the error message you are receiving basically means that you havent signed it properly to that exact version and a reset could make the difference or even just a memory card format. and then just copy the maps over to your memory card and all should be well

Ok it installed ok, even runs, put maps in system/apps/route66 in a folder caled maps. It finds the maps, so far so good. The original route66 is still attached to the swirly star button on the hone, any way I can point that button to the version I just installed ?

Also when first loading it ( at this stage via applications folder ) you get a voice ( female ) saying welcome to route66 showing the route66 title screen.

Now it says no gps! gps! in red ( pretty cute font ) if I go outside it changes and all ok. So in essence it works. Exiting program and opening up again, this time I get tittle screen for route66 but no voice.

Any ideas why I lose the voice and possible all sound when reopening the aplication again, it still find GPS approx 6 to 9 sats.

I am at a lose to why no sound after the first opening of it.

Yes, it greets you only once when you first start the program. Afterwards only when navigating....so try navigating anywhere, should get the voice again...cheers

1st, Latest Version of TomTom for Pocket Pc's is 6.010 (Stable Version)
2nd, 6.75 Maps don't Work with TomTom 5.0 (6.60 Maps is the Latest Maps that Work)
3rd, Alerts for Speed Camera's need to be in the same place as the Speed Camera's (i.e. the Maps folder)

Now that I have everything running, I get the welcome screen and vioce, I get approx 6 - 8 sats and it sees the maps, everyting is peachy.

Well except for 1 or 2 things,

1/ the actual button associated with the original Nokia 6110 Route66 software, can it be remapped to the verson 7 I have, if so how ?

2/ although not a major problem especially if point 1 can be taken care of, in there anyway to uninstall the original route66 software. Seems it will still run and just shows your location but it must be in phone memory, remapping the button as pointed out above would be the quicker and easy of the 2 if at all possible

I try to sing my route 66 with BuMobile signing aplication and your certificate but when i execute the ,bat file i get this one error menssage:

can you explain what you did step by step?

if you have a certificate made by me then the sultan.key was used, if it was made by another person they may have used a different key!

Then that´s the problem, the cert that i´m using was made by Michael Birch and I´m using your singnig sultan.key.

2. put it in the same folder as the Signing Tools (sultan.key, auto_signsis.bat and signsis.exe)
3. copy your route66.7.3.486.unsigned.sis or route66.7.3.545.unsigned.sis to the same folder
4. click on the auto_signsis.bat and it should make you a signed app

tomtom 5.20 for s60 doesn't support internal gps on the n95

5.20 is for the old nokia 6630, 6680, n70 range of symbian phones

As the Navcore Version 7 Custom Cursors thread has grown so large it has become necessary to gather all the submitted work on one page for easy reference!

Installation Instructions
=========================

At present custom cursors are only supported on the 520 and 720 models. We will update this with other compatible models as they become known to us.


To install you need to copy the .bmp (bitmap) version of the cursor to the art\cars folder on your TomTom device. The .bmp file version of the cursor can be obtained by double-clicking the previews below. the image that is then displayed is in the correct .bmp file format and can be saved to your PC.


Install
=======

A new page will load with the .bmp version of the cursor displayed.
Save this image to your desktop or a folder on your computer. For PC's you right-click the image and choose 'Save As', for Apple Macs right-click and choose 'Save image to the desktop'.
Connect your TomTom to your computer as normal.
All that remains is for the image you saved in step 3. above to be copied to the correct folder. If you browse your TomTom device you will see a folder called art. Within this folder is a sub folder called cars. Paste the cursor image into this folder.
Activate
To select the new cursor on your device:

Open 'Change Preferences' from the Main Menu.
Select 'Change Car Symbol'
If you have correctly followed the steps above your new cursor will be shown amongst those available for you to choose from.
Select the new cursor.
Creating your own

If you want to make your own it is a simple process

Locate a suitable image or take a photo of your own car. The best cursors are those that are viewed from the rear but slightly above the car rather than from directly behind.
The image size should be re-sized to 80 x 80 pixels.
TomTom automatically sets any part of the image that is red (RGB 255,000,000) to transparent
For optimum results a continuous 1 pixel white border should be added around the cursor.
The image should be saved as .bmp (bitmap).
You can easily experiment with your cursors or take a look at some of the ones supplied with the device to see how they have been designed.

Done it! If I can, anyone can! You need to register at symbiansigned then get a cer file from your csr file. use this to sign the unsigned sis file and install it. bingo! read back through the thread BU has covered all the steps in some detail. Good work BU.

Well my english is not that good,but i will try.
First use PC suite to install the aplication.When it asks you where to install tell it to the memory card.After you do this you have to place whatever map you have in system\apps\route66\maps .This you have to do the way I wrote in my previos post.And then everithing must be OK.Good luck!

It will say resource missing,because there is still not a map in system\apps\route66\maps.Now you have to see that System folder trough your PC witch might be hidden.Thats why you have to tell your PC to show you the hidden Fowders to.It seems to me that everithing with the aplication and installation is alright."Resource missing" in this case meens that you don't have a map copied to it's folder yet.Thats all I can guess.Hope you will do it.Good luck!

I just plugged my phone into the PC using Mass Storage connection (this way you can see all the files on the memory card) then I put the map in system/apps/Route66/maps the map was 'Route66 Australia Mobille7 Maps.prm'. Thanks to all the information in this topic I finally installed Route66 Mobile v7.3.545.Multilanguage on my phone.

Resource error and full memory was making my nuts but the problem was the Iberia map, after I chanced it for a other one finally (almost) everything works now fine, not everything, I have no sound while the telephone is not in the mute or the pedestrian mode.
The only reason I think it is not working is that I installed the program from the memory card to the telephone memory, after reading this almost 100 postings topic I´m still not shore off this is wrong or not.
Can this by the reason? I like to now it before I remove the finally nice working program.

By the way I´m using Coreplayer and with this program you can see also the hidden files on your memory card and phone memory, one the phone memory I have also a system\apps\route66\speech direction where I can see al the .ogg sound files.

Download the signing tools BuMobile post a few page back. Extract all content to a folder, rename your cert from 356996010495843_Danby to xxxxxx.cer and put in the same folder, run auto-signRoute66... and it will sign your sis file for you.

Now install the signed sis file to your phone's memory card (make sure t oclean out all SMS inbox messages). Connect phone to PC and chose "Mass Storage" look for system/apps/Route66/maps (it might be hidden so have to search for it) copy maps into the maps folder (if no map folder make one). That should work, if it ask for registration number, any 16 digits # will do.

Just install the sign version of the sis file, install it in the phone memeory card. You have to install the maps file.
Have you installed the MAPS in system/apps/Route66/maps folder. I think you are just missing the maps. Once you put the map in you will be good.

Did you put all files in one folder?

Make a new folder and in it put your unsign version of Route66 sis file, the cert (rename to xxxxxx.cer), sultan key, auto-signroute66, signsis.
Now click on auto-signroute66 and it will sign the sis file. If all work correct you will now have a signed version along with an unsign file in the folder.

Yes it select the internal GPS. Might want to go outside and open the slide pad. First time maybe it take a few minutes but after that it's pretty quick.
