No, No, finally worked fine.
I was just connecting the modem, and I didn't start the application to connect, so, the pin wasn't inserted.
I started the app, just put the pin with the lock simcard, and start your prog, later the modem unlocked.

Hello Folks, I got an USB HUAWEI E220 Modem from A1 Austria, I Think its locked, because when i use another sim, after pin input got message: SIM/Usim Doesnt Exist.. Why so??? :(
Have dovnloaded programm from link above, but what should i take in optoins? There is NO USB Devices At All..
Question is does somebody got a solution for This device? And is it not dangerous to buy credits from KulanKendi? There is more than 200 users with no logins/passwords, or they need to wait about 1 week.. Thats a crappy service - isnt it??

This happened to me also. I eventually got the pc to recognise modem again after messing about with sim in, sim out, reboot pc etc and then I ran the firmware upgrade again and it worked fine the second time and then I unlocked with Kulankendi Multi Client ;)

something is messed up with drivers. if U have more usb ports then try to plug it to other usb port.
if still not works then go to support and download file: Huawei_Drivers_All_Systems.rar
unpack it and run driverUninstall.exe (disconnect modem before)

Yes I just tried again and it's worked :) also my modem is now showing as 7.2mbps instead of 3.6mbps :)

Still not working on my laptop though. I think if I rollback my system it may work or failing that I will re-install XP. It's working on my other PC's though so it's ok.

:) I've done it. Found a blog with someone who had the same problem as me. They used the new firmware and dashboard from 3 Australia. It worked first time once I plugged it in to my laptop.

The dashboard from 3AU looks quite good too. Better than the one that comes with 3UK.

I'm in the same case... my windows doesn't recognice the modem and it is flashing green all the time. The firmware update process stoped at 3%

Try finding it from a different PC. My laptop failed to find it at all when the flashing went wrong but another PC I had managed to find them modem. It didn't load any sofware and flashed green but as long as the PC can see the modem you can start again.

I think it's a risky procedure. If I would have known that at the start I would not have started :). I didn't even need mine unlocking I just wanted to see if it would work.

I get exactly the same error as DjCook when i put my Orange UMTS sim in and i think i know why. I also bought an Austrian A1 (=vodafone!) hsdpa package. Kulankendi software says that the card is unlocked. That means: there is no sim lock (but how about a software-lock? ;)).
If we check out wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Huawei_E220):

"Some network operators selling E220, however, replace Huawei's software with their own, which often is software-locked (albeit not SIM-locked) to work only with the operator's own network. End users can use either third-party software or alternative operating systems (eg Debian GNU/Linux) to circumvent this and use their E220 with any SIM, or flash their device with Huawei's original software. The following operators are known to replace Huawei's software with their own:
Vodafone puts on its E220 (Vodafone Mobile Connect USB Modem) its Vodafone Mobile Connect Lite software which is a lighter version of Vodafone Mobile Connect."
I suppose that we (the A1 customers) have such a software lock. I think it should be possible to remove this lock by updating / reflashing the software.
(but will it still be possible to use A1 hsdpa in austria? if i check the settings in the software of A1 it says at the authentification part: "Password: ***". I just got this modem (e220 of course) from a friend. Got excited coz I thought I could start using it... sadly it is SIM-locked to M-One/Vodafone.

Now, I was led to this forum while trying to find ways to remove the SIM lock... however, I seem to be a little lost with how to get into the process...

I have a PayPal account... haven't really used it coz I seldom bought anything online... anyway.

1. I have downloaded the KK-Multi Client (as evidenced by the screen cap I posted above)...
2. I have visited http://www.kulankendi.com/index2.php?pMenuG=15 and knew from there that I need to buy 15 credits (15 euros) and here's where I am a little lost....

The instruction posted in the pdf file HOW TO GET ACCOUNT LOGIN/PASSWORD says that I have to go to Paypal to make the payment for the credits so I am directed to this page...

I am being asked to enter the email of the person to whom I will be sending the money.... but I can't seem to find in the instruction on the above-mentioned pdf file as to the email being used by KK... indeed, there's mention of allpay@gsminfo.ph and other private email at gsmhosting but it does not explicitly instruct that this is the email account to be used in PayPal transactions...

Again, my apologies for being a little cautious about these things... give a little leeway to a virgin online buyer ;) and besides this is what the forum for, right...

Anyway, could someone post a procedure for doing this? Thanks a lot...
