I HAVE ALWAYS STRESSED THAT ONLY A THOROUGH TROUBLESHOOTING IN MOBILE PHONES WILL ACTUALLY REVEAL THE CAUSE OF ANY FAULT RATHER THAN ALWAYS ASKING FOR SOLUTIONS. WHILE THOSE WHO PROVIDE THE SOLUTIONS HAVE DONE THEIR BEST, APPLICATION OF A PARTICULAR SOLUTION MAY NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM AS THE PROVIDER OF THE SOLUTION IS NOT THE ONE WHO CHECKED THE PHONE. ALSO, THOSE SEEKING FOR SOLUTIONS MAY GIVE WRONG INFORMATION. FOR INSTANCE, MANY PHONE TECHNICIANS IN NIGERIA CAN NOT DIFFERENTIATE BETWEEN ONE COMPONENT OR THE OTHER. THEY CALL EVERYTHING 'IC'. THAT IS WHY YOU WILL MARVEL WHEN SOMEONE WHO KNOWS NOTHING ABOUT ELECTRONICS SAYS HE HAS CHANGED THE POWER IC WHEN IN FACT HE HAS UNSUCCESFULLY CHANGED IN A RESISTOR OR CAPACITOR NEAR THE BATTERY CONNECTOR IN WHICH CASE THE PHONE HAS BEEN DAMAGED THE MORE.

GUESS WORK IS ALSO THERE ON THE PART OF OTHERS. FOR INSTANCE, I RECEIVED A NOKIA 1600 YESTERDAY BROUGHT IN FOR INSERT SIM FAULT. I DISASSEMBLED THE PHONE ONLY TO FIND A BADLY DAMAGED KEYPAD IC. THIS WAS THE RESULT OF THE ACTION OF A GUESSER WHO THINKS THAT THE IC VERY NEAR THE SIM CONNECTOR MUST OF COURSE BE THE SIM IC!
