Yes and for that you would need an smartcard reader/writer. :)

Yes its an reader but if you should play with it.. you need a writer also. ;)
Best solution is an COM read/writer *** there is much more advanced applicaton for those.

Explain please what you mean?
USB-Smart using JCOP1.0 Family cards. Why to use ATMEGA?
PS.
If you want clone card reader - You can use PKEY reader, as zulea in latest versions of USB-Smart applications implemented its support (expect Alcatel tool). Original USB-Smart reader was really worst designed SC reader, not compatible with PC/SC standard.
