I have a problem tho... I dont yet have a pic writer and need something cheapppp
I see one on http://www.k009.demon.co.uk/Programmers/programmers.html for £8 with serial cable but it doesn't list PIC 12C672/12CE674 as being supported tho it does support 12c508. Actually, I can't find any uk suppliers listing that their device supports the PIC 12C672/12CE674!!!

Are 12c508 and 12C672/12CE674 compatible perhaps?

Please tell me so I can order just now - Maybe I'll have the components for Tuesday!!!

DavieB is right...
the - of the bateries, the gnd from the phone and the loose end from the resistor should all be connected together.

Anyone had a chance to test it yet?
Cause Raul said the hex was wrong... can anyone confirm yet?

Maybe Raul can provide the right hex? As he is able to compare this one to figure out it's wrong he probably has the correct hex??????? :D

Well, no offence to Raul but come on - Someone comes along and says "Dont use it, it wont work but I'm not telling you why"
We're to believe it? Maybe it wont work but if its for the reasons he believes why doesn't he say?

What has he to lose?
Maybe he doesn't agree with the schemes, in which case I can tell him it should - schemes are very similar to old nokia clip ones - single resistor, PIC, switch/button, and now an LED...

As soon as I can find out which programmer will do the chip (is it compatible with ALL 12c508 prommers???) I'll order one and all the components!

Ok, Using IDA this is the info I managed to pull - there's much more but not actualy strings - just data used in the process!

I'm quite interested in m2bus module v2.0!!!
Based on same schemes we can make different clips with it (security codes reset, logo, ringtones even!)

And who is KaAs - maybe we can contact him/her and get more detailed info on the clip - he/she would be a great help to many projects we have going (they must be quite knowledgeable!)

Also:
Someone with good skill could dissasemble the hex and give more details on full unlocking process for newer dct3's via mbus!!!!

hmmm...

I'm no good at programming but...
I thought Dejan's 1.02 hex only did faid calculation...
This new hex (by kaAs?) does the eeprom unlocking...
imei change...
My guess is that it's based on Dejan's NK_CALC,
not the 1.02 hex...

Just a thought though ...

I programmed the PIC today, but the Clip doesn´t work!!!!!!
(No led light after power on!!!)

I just want a clip that unlocks for everything else...well i have my PC for that kinda of thing anyway.

My thinking is that with the old nokia clip for unlocking, it fitted onto a 16x84 :) could someone perhaps send me or tell me how to go about this ??

Well, from what I understand - the old spunlock one (i know this for a fact!) simply issues an "unlock" command... This can be seen in the old vb source thats floating around..
The newer spunlock method, on the other hand, takes data from the phone, runs it thru algos and kicks back with the command and calc'd params. The algo requires access to hash tables, which are relatively large (hence the choice of PIC)

This may be way off the mark, so correct me if it is! But thats what I understand it to be...
I'd need dct3 spunlock type sourcecode to confirm it!

I'm still waiting for my chips to come in... seems there's been some troubles for my local electronics shop ordering them...

My pics arrived... (finally)
I progged one...
Hooked clip up to an already unlocked phone.
(don't have locked phone here and need to read on how to lock it first)

But

All things (the led blinking etc.) was exactly as in the description!!!
So it looks like the hex is 100%! :D

When I figure out (know it's been posted many times so I'll look it up) how to lock my phone (3210/6210/8210 (feel free to give instructions)) I will test on a locked phone and post results.

Wil be gone for a few hours but plan to test later on.
Will try to post results tonight!

It because of none OSCCAL value, you tested in MPLAB ?
Read PIC12C672 datasheet for more info.

Also remember to read OSCCAL value at 0x7FF, and place in program hex, BEFORE programming, or else PIC will never get to "Receive_Power_On_From_Phone"(When LED goes on) routine

**Be carefull NOT to erase OSCAL value, if JW UV-eraseable!!**

OSCCAL value is used for internel calibration of 4MHz OSC(set at factory)

If anyone ist interrested in disassembled hex with commted text, for changing, adding of functions etc,
just tell me, or you have some info about DCT4, just send me, i relly need this!

Just leave them unconnected!

Don't connect resistor to ground! (where'd you get that idea?)
Connect resistor to ic pin 5 and to the led, led goes to ground!

your original scheme states the LED connects to pin 5 with the series resistor after it. I assumed that it was then conected to ground (to obviously complete the circuit) when re-drawing the diagram:

Hi i programmed the chip with the HEX file but when i connect phone and power on the LED goes off and then stays on does not blink am i doing something wrong please help as i have killed 10 pics and others are likely to get killed too!!! :mad:

Firstly, open txt based schematic in wordpad not notepad, you might find it makes more sense !!!!!!

Make sure you program your pics with the correct confiq settings.

I think, nobody need the factory reset after unlock!!!
(No PC-programm does a f-reset after unlock!)
If you unlock with the Clip, the phone lost all "user"- ringetones :(
Only IMEI change need f-reset!

First of all, thanks for not just trusting me...there are way too many cheaters in this world :)

Ok, to answer your question, one does not have to have any sources from me, only just follow the thread...

The only thing you have talked about in connection with KaAs
is the T191 source...

Even when not knowing that, looking at the bytes that are listed in the part you pasted in your posting, it is easy enough to recognize the T191 bytes, and also Protocol (99 66 xx)

In this case i would bet it is my T191 source, on the 16f84a.
(because the one on 16f84 have been cracked, and the 12c509a version (which i have too) has not been used a lot in clips yet)

When i am with my sources again, i can tell you this for sure, and maybe also some version numbers etc....

Also, about the 115200 baud. I know, you were right, but i decided not to use 8mhz, simply because, as you said, I am a maniac, and thus wanted to make it on 4mhz...
(i think you can understand...take the fullest out of the simple chips)

Okay, i think we will talk more later, surely i will give more detail about your pasted piece of code, so that you believe me...

The clips i build always leave a unknown security code when change IMEI option...why?!

When i unlock i take off when light flashes quickly...but when i leave on to do imei it always always asks for security code anyone else having this problem also?

I am a bit curious what is the difference in the old HEX and this one appart from the fact that it uses a different PIC?

Will this fix the security code problem?

Dont want to use untill i know it fixes the problem?

Anyone shed some light onto this issue?

Hello I have tried the clip of pic16F628 and it happens to me the same thing that with of 12C672. When I introduce the code pin it asks me for the ssecurity code and does not enter any. Regards

When u unlock with the clip ,As soon as the lights flash rapidly,switch off the clip.
It will then be unlocked (and not ask for any security code)

If u left it too long and it asks for the security code , then do the unlocking procedure again (but remember to switch off the clip as soon as the lights flash rapidly)

the clip uses a 2k eeprom... (16f628 or 12c672) ... it won't fit on 16f84 wich has only 1 k available (the hex file is larger than 1 k)...

I success made this clip but imei have change to ????????00?????1 and it can unlock and reset security code

This clip reads the IMEI from phone, increment YY, calculate C and then wite it back!!

Don't know what happend with your phone. When I tried I got something similar to what AQuds wrote. A few numbers in the imei changed. Worked perfectly here.

But I almost never change imei numbers on phones so I didn't use it much. Only for testing purposes yet.

Hi,
Now it work 100% i made a 2nd clip.It change imei like random.
1st clip i made and i change imei the original imei have change to something like this ???????11?????0.
And now all work perfectly.
Have any clip calculate FAID??:D :D :D

I tested the hex and it's working 100%. It unlocks DCT3 phones. If the hex posted here is bad try to get it from other site. I have it. If you want ask me by email.

Can someone tell me how long it takes this clip to unlock a phone ?
I've got the circuit set-up sucessfully.
When I switch on the phone the LED goes off
and comes back on a second later,
but then seems to stay on..
I've waited for about a minute..
Should I wait for longer ?

Hi folks!

I've built the clip, and it works perfect. No bug in the hex, the cfg is correct too, but if you turn CODE PROTECT on, the prommer won't be able to verify the code.

I've used the original hex and shematic (found above), and the shematic, which was allright, IF you open it with WordPad for example, but you can find the DRAWN version here:

About the pic.
I used PIC12c672 4Mhz and it works.

About the CFG:
The cfg included in the hex is ok, but it has CODE PROTECT ON by default. You can turn it on, it does no matter in working.
