I have made my self a datacable and is working with all other phones but with Alcatel 311 is not working. I have connected the RTS to pin 13 of MAX232 and the pin 12 to the phone. I've understand that pins 2-3 are connected togheter with the pin 12 of MAX, is OK ? I'm wondering why is not working. When i try to connect with 311 Unlock v1.2 by Angelo the phone is powering on and I receive the message that the phone is not responding and check the cable. I've allready check the cable but I don't see where is the problem. Maybe is from the capacitors? They are 10 uF 16V.

the schemas given is true & working.
For example I took a simple C25 interface (home-made) , connect pin 7 of PC comport to pin 13 of MAX232 then pin 2&3 of phone to pin 12. I'm using a external power supply.
About capacitors , 2,2µF or 10µF is the same.
If the phone power on , check for capacitor polarity specialy on PIN 6 & PIN 2 of MAX. If your MAX is mounted on a Socket, then check it.
I've got the same problem when I started to make interface for BE1 serie. it's a connection problem.
If your cable was used on BE1 , then look at PIN 1 & 2 of comport.

Thx for advice! I have made some modifications but still not reading the phone. The good part is that now is not powering on the phone. I have looked all over the board but still nothing. The box working on all phones.
What about pins 1 and 2. I must conect them? ( I mean that the pin 1 to connect)

Try to use external power for MAX.
I have allready +5V power external but still not working. I don't know the problem is. Evrething seems to be ok. Today I've unlocked an Ericsson T10s and it worked, but not for Alcatel...
Any sugestions?:(
I have same problem with BF-4 no connection at all!
I try with MAX232,HIN232,ICL232 chips,external voltage regulator 3-5v but no luck.I try this on 3 machines-Duron750Mhz,Celeron366Mhz,Pentium 166Mhz-result is allways bad prog read bullshirts!

I am also getting the same problem using HIN232CP, my phone is powering on but software can't connect, have made and tried two cables and neither work, to start first cable and AngelGSM detected phone, but not flash and just gave rubbish in the version and no functions worked, now can't detect phone with either cable. Any ideas anyone? Phone still seems to function as a phone so I assume I have not destoyed it (yet).
I finally solve my problem with cable!Cable is same as picture,i use external power supply 3,6volt to HIN232
Use final version of AnjelGSM soft-wokr great,all my problems disapears!

Maybe is the processor. I have an Pentrium IV at 1,5Ghz. The phone is not responding and sometimes is powering up. I put pin 7 from com port to pin 13 of IC and the pin 12 to pins 2-3 of phone, the tx and rx is working because I have unlocked some phone after that. Maybe the voltage is bad. I have +5V and i'll try with 3,6. About the extern voltage from schematic: I must connect some where on phone?
P.s. My box has +5V voltage regulator with 200mA verry well filtred current. Maybe is from here the problem? Maybe the mA are to high.....

Evrething was ok, but the pin 7 (RTS), the wire, was bad and thats whay the phone was not repsonding.

just connect an 78L05 in the +5 volts input, and you may use an 9 volts batery.
Ps- to test if the cable is working fine, the best prog to test it , with omega flasher , if it work´s with Omega, it means that the cable work with all other software.And dont forget, plug the cable into the phone and press "connect", but the phone must allways be off, or else the prog dosent reconize the phone :) ;) :)

I'm using MAX232 interface which I'm using for other phones. The pinout is: 1,2,3 - GND, 4 - Rx, 5 - Tx. You don't need to connect RS232 pin 7 to MAX232 pin 13 etc.
Just use normal cable which you use for other phones.
100% working.

Maybe the schematic without pin 7 from RS232 com port is working but I'm using for Alcatel OT311 or 511 the schematic with the pin 7 connected to pin 13 of MAX232 and the pin 12 of MAX to pins 2-3 of the phone and is working just fine. I have no problems and I have unlocked about 50 pcs and no problem. I am using +5V external too. The schematic without pin 7 connected I heard that is working for Dejan program's (search the forum). My box is modified by me (working for all phones except Motorola, only ASIM) and is working with 10uF capacitors verry well.
The link with the schematic is good. Is the same schematic presented in Anjel software, etc.

If you use hin232 - you must use 0.1 uF capacitor, max232 - 4.7 uF, icl232 - ???

For IC HIN232 you can use 0,1uF capacitors or 1,0uF. The IC requires Only Single +5V Power Supply. Is 120kbps transmiter.
For MAX232 you can use 4,7uF capacitors or 0,1uF. The IC requires Only Single +5V Power Supply. The IC is 120kbps transmiter.
For IC ICL232 you must use 1uF capacitors and the IC requires Only Single +5V Power Supply.
My box is home made and I've used an TC232CPE with 10uF capacitors and it worked for all phone except Motorola (Ericsson, Alcatel-all, Siemens, Sagem, Nokia, Panasonic, Trium, etc.)
