I have found this nasty bug in SIMEMU...
For sure it affects NOKIA 8210, NOKIA 8310 and NOKIA 8110.

To enable display of the actual Position, we know, we have to set the currency as "POS" and then enable the cost LIMIT.

This works on the 3 phones above.

The problem is that is not possible to DISABLE it using the same procedure.

The phone *SEEMS* to disable it but if you turn off and then back on the phone the nasty number appears on the display and the COST LIMIT is still enabled.

To disable it I used CARDINAL68 and put the limit to "0" and I erased POS as the currency. This sets the cost limit to OFF and everything worked as normal.

So, please check the comunication between NOKIA and SIMEMU because it *seems* that the phone do the right job but the SIM is not WRITTEN. After a reset, as a metter of fact, the position number is still there.

Cardinal68, putting a "0" as the cost limit and "nothing" instead of the currency, resets the sim correctly.

To deactivate the display of actual position, you must change the currency value to another than POS and disable the cost LIMIT too.

Yes.. i know that.. can't you just correct the bug so when setting only no cost limit ?

Because here in italy some companies use that cost limit.. and having it limite to 1 (or whatever) is terrible.

Which company does use the POS as currency value ?
I don't want to do this test if it is not strictly necessary, because I haven't enough space to waste...

I am preparing a new release to solve more important things like the problems with the last models of Nokia, 8310, 6310, 3510 that looses signal temporary.

No, the source code of SIM-EMU is not of public domain, I'm sorry.

The SIM-EMU is written in assembly pure code of Microchip.
