I am using Garmin XT v5.00.50 on my Nokia N97 Touchscreen and it works perfect.

Ok...havent posted here in awhile. Decided my 40.60GXT was ready to be upgraded. Flushed everything out of my N95-3 and reloaded 5.0050 or what ever the newest GXT is. I still had 2009 USA maps and loaded them using my Mapsource the way I always have. I searched around and found the NT 2010 maps for North America and downloaded them. I first went thru the Windows folder and tried to download them directly to my phone, but that wouldnt work because they wanted some product key(Card ID was too long). Then I went to another folder in that program and tried the EULA.exe Like I did on the 2009 maps. It went thru the whole lengthy install process. I then copy and pasted the 2009 Bat unlocking file to that folder and ran it, but it only read the 2009 maps were ALREADY unlocked. I have looked all over this forum and cannot find anything pertaining to unlocking these 2010 NA maps. I know the Map ID is 2005, but I dont see any bat file to unlock them. Has this been done yet? Thanx in advance

2010 maps are slightly different and do not come in img format for Mapsource so your bat unlocker will not work. You going to have to use keygen to create gmapsupp.unl file that you than copy to Garmin folder where you installed the software.

Right

When you install the 2010 map and run mapsource go to manage map products under Utilities on the menu. Click on add regions. Get the device id by runing the garmin on your device andskip inital screen when it asks for the activation. In the setting about menu (something like that ) you will find device id or card id on the screen. make a note of that id number.
Now use tha card or device id in the keygen to generate map code using custom 2005 map id. Copy 25 digit code you get to the add region screen in mapsource and thats it. You do not need to bother with my previous coment because the map is unlocked to your device. You can just send any part of that map to your device or card and that should be it.

Hope this is understandable.

This is the detailed description of my previous explanation but if you unlock the maps with your card id in mapsource than you do not need gmapsupp.unl file and you can change the extent of coverage any time. You do however need to create sw.unl file as described in your instructions to unlock the software.

When I open up Mapsource only 2009 and USA topo(Another map I downloaded) are shown. How do I get Mapsource to find the 2010 maps? In Mapsource i also go to Utilities>Unlock maps>Add Region> and I add the code; but Mapsource doesnt know what its unlocking. When I open Mapinstall it knows the 2010 are there because it asks for the product key; so I know they are installed. I used the keygen to gennerate with my card ID (Named ESN now in 5.00.50) and custom mapset 2005, but the code didnt work in the Map install program. Do I need to install my 2010.10 maps in a diffrent folder so Mapsource can find them?

On a different note, does anyone know where I can get a clean link to the 2010.20 north american maps? I've followed a few but all of them are fake or have expired.

OK...I'm thinking this may matter. The Keygen Iwas using was 1.1. It worked for unlocking the NT 2009 NA maps and 5.00.50 GXT but I'm thinking it wont work for unlocking the 2010.1 maps. I found 1.3.0.37 Keygen and tried that on my Mapsource and it didnt work because the Mapsource program couldnt find any 2010 maps. The I thought maybe it matters if the Mapsource version I have is old. So I checked, and sure enough I have two versions downloded. I have always used 6.13.7 and it has worked fine up until the 2010 maps. I found I also had downloaded the 6.15.5 Mapsource version; in that version I found the Nt 2010 NA maps recognized. I followed the above directions and used the 1.3 keygen. This time the wrong code error didnt pop up, but it sent me back to the regoion frame and said the maps werent installed. Then when I went to the newer version of my map install(I had an old one of those too) It listed the maps but said "Detail Locked" written in yellow across the bottom of the mapset image when I tried to dl them to my phone. Is there a newer Keygen that will only work with the 2010.1 maps? I've seen the 1.5 version and I think a 1.7 but cant find any DL links for them. Also, could it be a problem I have all these versions of Mapinstall and Mapsource loaded on my PC? Should I uninstall the older ones? I'd hate to lose any thing I may have accumilated. Sorry to ask so many questions, but I'm just trying to understand all this...Thanx.

This is for North America 2010 imige file only which is the way i install as mapsource in my eyes is usless unless you use more than 4 maps included base map. If you google There are plenty of image file maps that are already unlocked and work perfect once you have activated gamin xt software.

If I remember correctly you can have 4 maps in garmin including base map and main gmapsupp.img map. You need to rename the additional maps to gmapsup2.img and gmapsup3.img. I think you could have another map named gmapprom.img that is on the internal memory of your device. I am not sure if that applies to all devices.

I'm missing something. I DLed CNNANT2010.20 but there were no instructions. I tried to use MapSource and Map Install but they keep asking for a code. I have the 1.3 keygen I believe, and put in the custom mapsets ID 2005 and generated a code, but it wont work when I open Map Install. Where do I stick the .unl file if I put the code on notebook? I guess I'm just missing something. I wouldnt even bother, but the 2009 maps dont have the newer roads in my town. I wish someone would give a step by step instruction on how to do this. Thanx.

i have uploaded this and installed it on to my windows mobile 6.1 device. i have changed the snl file and saved it in the correct format.
when i have located mt position it homes into my position fine, the problem is when i try and navigate any where i have to spell the country of were i want to go, but it cant find uk, or gb or england or any such like.

also just came up with error saying "read access violation at data address 0xFFFFFF80.

You going to have to remove Garmin completely including removing all remaing files and folders manually after uninstall and start again. Make sure you have latest version 5 and recreate the map from scrach because that is where the information is read from. You can try just map first to see if it works.

You must have IMEI converter that converts your IMEI to Garmin unit number because that is how it is generated.
