Basically,
Check that your particular map has cspeech files otherwise it won't work.
Make a folder named VocalizerTTS (note: name is case sensitive). and place it in root i.e. NOT inside another folder.
Open the file enu_samantha.cab and copy it’s content to the VocalizerTTS folder.
If you wish, do the same with enu_tom.cab and click OK/Yes when it asks if you want to replace existing files.
Reboot, change to one of these voices and that should be it. You won't hear these voices in HOME.



I also have a ONE v2 and it works perfectly ( although I would prefer a British voice :) )

There is no meta for Benelux v8 in fact I have never seen a Benelux v8 map. ( Anyone please post if there is)

You can't use v8 maps with v7 Navcore. You need the cracked Navcore8 as mentioned in my first reply.

These voices are not meant for the VocalizerTTS. They are for use with the full Loquendo package.

When you set emulation to xls you get loquendoTTS, but no ALG. To get both at the same time you need to install VocalizerTTS and set your emulation to x20. This configuration allows both."

Is this true? So, in this case, can I add Dave_6.9.1.cab and Susan_6.9.1.cab and change emulation to xls?
I don't know if it's just my GPS, but switching to different modes, it appeared that only on mode onetsssdk it properly showed my location. on x20 and x30 it pointed me ~400m away from my real location.

Suck it and see! It is the best way of learning what you can and can't do. Yes it is your GPS if you are testing it indoors. It should and does give the same location no matter which emulation you are using when outside and moving.

Quick question. The North America map I downloaded a while ago was named NA_805_light. TTHome it tells me this is version 805.1801 and Size is 1718.8MB. Just wondering if this is the light version, what is the size of the full 805 map?
At the time of the download I had just a 2GB SD card.

OK, so now I have VocalizerTTS working on my TTOne V2 but I did not add any voices to the LoquendoTTS folder.

You can't run v7 maps with v6 firmware.
You can't run v8 maps with v7 firmware.

I tested the above out using cracked Navcore8 and cracked France_720_1802 map which has no cspeech files with my TomTom set to OneTTSSDK emulation.
Using Loquendo BIG KateGB, text to speech worked perfectly.
I also tested this out with VocalizerTTS and voice Samantha US. Again worked perfectly.
So, it would seem this information is correct, at least for cracked Nav8 and cracked maps.
My ONE v2 doesn't have Voice Recognition.

If anyone knows of any more I would be grateful for a link.

Must confess I'm getting a bit tired of the "Gimmes" on these forums.
I know many people don't have English as a first language but I also know that there are words for "Please and Thank You" in their respective native tongue. It must be amongst the first words you learn when getting to know a language.
It is so easy to click on the "Thanks" button but it seems it is too much bother for so many people.
People ask for a meta for a map but it never crosses their mind to post a link to where they got the map they want the meta for.
You only have to look at their posting history to see it is all, "I need, I want, link dead, somebody upload it again, gimme,gimme,gimme,......
NEVER EVER a link or upload from them!
Forty people have looked at the post by YOUMA who posted several maps since I suggested that they could click on Thanks for his useful post.
NO ONE HAS BOTHERED!
I have all the maps I need but I still appreciate the time and effort he put into posting the links. Even if you don't actually need the maps he is posting they are none the less useful and should be appreciated.

could be a number of things wrong,

1, hardware
2, firmware
3, hard drive or memory card
4, human error ???

the files to convert the go 700 to a go 910 is now out dated due to the firmware supported is only v5.xx and we are on v7 firmware

so to be honest not worth upgrading it just search for a mp3 player for your tomtom via Google :cool:

Is it possibly time to split this thread up a bit. Maybe into V7 and V8 firmware development and a seperate thread for those wanting V7 / V8 maps.

I'm more concerned about getting my One V2 working with the V8 o/s (which due to the efforts of rytenuff, BuMobiles et al it does) plus any enhancemenst it might do, so to split this kind of 'development' off from those wanting maps might be beneficial.

Talking of which rytenuff I still feel that the Western Europe V8 map has something in it prohibiting map updates via tomtom home (see my previous threads)

Try navigating to :
C:\Documents and Settings\archercj?\Application Data\TomTom\HOME\Profiles\???????.default\MapShare DownloadCache
then move (don't delete) the cache files out of that folder into another folder for safekeeping and see if you are then offered any updates.
Remember to put them back once you have finished the experiment.

you need to patch the firmware to accept the maps

Yes,

The easy way to downgrade is delete the ttsystem from the memory card and then plug back into tomtom home and update the device...

The 1st update will be v6, 2nd one will be v7 and so on ;)

thanks for your help, in the end it was several loose, faulty connections, looks like my dad had a good go at it. but ive now reconnected all the flex cables and updated the soft, and I now have a fully working tomtom, and he has egg on his face.

In order to activate a map using the keygen,( EasyUseTools) you must have a KEY for the map. This KEY takes the form of a text with a series of numbers and letters. This is called a "meta.txt"

Maps can be found to download which do not yet have a KEY and therefore cannot be activated.

The map which is named , Italia_720_1802 does have a KEY available. It is:

There are instructions in how to use the keygen both in the Keygen (EasyUseTools) posted above and elsewhere in this thread.
It contains the meta.txt for every map which has a KEY (meta.txt) available to date.

I really hate to ask this, but ...

I downloaded the fiels from that link. 9 Downloaded. It appears that maybe they are a collection of split files.

But with the RAR utility I have, if I click on any of them and select combine, it says "Cannot detect file as split file". And when I extract them individually, I get extractions, but errors saying "Data error: File is broken".

I am using 7-Zip File manager.

Am I thinking wrong about these files? need a different RAR tool? Or do you recon these files are really broken?

yes i did it once of a customers device but have never had another go510 to convert it too

i believe it's very simple just follow all info

copy the folders from the go510 to your pc
copy the selected modded files and folder from the go910 zip file to the same folder on the pc (remember to overwrite)
then copy all files back to device

If your navcore 8 is an official ( obtained from tomTom) one. i.e. not a cracked one then it won't work. It cannot be patched like the earlier v7 Navcore. If this is the case then you need to download a cracked Nav8.

I have a 910 with firmware ver 4.86, app 7.162 and ver 720 maps. I'm going to try to upgrade it to ver 5 firmware, app 8.010 and ver 8.05 maps. I think I have all the necessary files but I want to do this slowly so I don't brick my unit.

First - to upgrade the firmware, should I just copy the file "system" (obtained from file "sytem.5.0522.rar") into the root on my 910? I've already created a backup of the 910.

Thanks to rytenuff I was able to upgrade the 910 to ver 720 maps but they are already dated a bit.

As a starting point, you'll need to buy a bluetooth GPS receiver as the 6680 does not have one built in. Without one, any program will perform no better than a paper map.

:(Ohmygod I wish this would work! Getting maps to work with TomTom 7 on my HTC Touch Diamond I mean. When I try the cmd method I just get "not recognised as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file" every time. OBVIOUSLY i'm doing something wrong; this forum seems divided between those who can do this first time, anytime, and those for whom it never works. and i'm one of those.
Not to mention the number of times I've used Easy Use tools to generate a .dct, pasted into my map folder, only to get the same old message ....

If you open the map folder you should see if you run your cursor over the files in there one will have the extension .META

Its an encryption code that needs a decryption key, ie meta.dct, to enable the map to be used in a Tomtom 7 or 8 program.

I've got TomTom One XL. I,ve been downloaded Australia map v.720.1838, but tomtom can't see the new map.My current firmware is:8.010(9369/080529). My current Australia map v.675.1431. Can somebody help me to solve this problem?

Hi, i recently bought a 4GB SD but it turns out to be a SDHC so my tomtom one V2 wont recognise.

got new bootloader download and tried it.

My problem is it wont install as you describe.
I renamed the old system file (which incidentally was called system1???) to system.old.
I copied the new system file in there and reset machine and turned back on.

It just started as normal without the "please wait" screen. I think i have seen this screen before it says please wait in a few different languages i think.
When i checked my bootloader is still showing as 5.5010.

Is there a particular way i need to reboot to force it to install this new system file??

I am running the following, if thats relevant:-
Tomtom One V2
App 8.011 (9373/080620) OS:190943
GPS v1.21 Boot 5.5010
Map UK IE v810.1870

Look to see how big your system.old is. If it is 753KB then remove all other instances of system (NOT ttsystem) and rename system.old again to system.
The file which was called system1 which you renamed to old is the 5.5012 bootloader. It is called system1 so that you have the choice of whether you want to upgrade the bootloader or not when you install Navcore 8.011
Remember you cannot downgrade a bootloader to a lower number once you upgrade to a higher one.

If you are using the official TT Navcore 8.10 as downloaded from TT Home then it cannot be patched.

Only to point out to anyone reading this thread that it is permanent, unlike changing Navcores, maps, POIs etc.
There are other newer bootloaders floating about which people may be tempted to install just to experiment and they should be aware that updating the bootloader i.e. system file is one of the few ways to potentially brick their TT if things go awry.

As I have a PDA and there don't seem to be mush comming out as far as
a version 7.0 - or 8.0 software and map for Australia.

I am running version 6.0 and the Australian map version 675.1431.
The App version I have is ver.6.000 (7370)
I don't know if there is a newer avaiable somewhere???

That's WhereIs map version 14. Version 15 is out, but for Tomtom 7, ie Map 720.1868 (or 720.1838)

You'll need to update your program to Tomtom 7 for it to use this map.

Connect your device to your PC and download the latest Navcore for your device ,version 7.
That is the software you require.
Search for links to v7 maps and EasyUseTools to crack it. You are on your own here as every link on this site is blocked or removed by Rapidshare or Megaupload shortly after posting.
People who glibly request/demand a re-upload have obviously never done this themselves. It takes HOURS to upload stuff which may only last a day or two before being blocked.

Ever considered using Cryptload and www.linksave.in (http://www.linksave.in)? It'll encode the links, etc. Still permit you to use Rapidshare, megaupload etc, but the links are not so easily get at for reporting and deletion.

Got to this step..

Double Click the Command Script called, "RunMeforAllAutomatic"
You are presented with options 1 and 2. As we are assuming you have Navcore 7 you type 2, and press enter.
You now have three options 1, 2, and 3.
You type 1 and press enter.")
You are asked for a drive letter. This is the drive letter that your PC gave the tomtom when you connected it. Look in "My Computer" for it when you connect and before you begin the crack so you will know what letter to type in.

And it replys with NO MAPS FOUND.

Plase could you advise of what i should do ?

When i did the 'RunMeforMetaKey.cmd' it tells me 'This is not map v7/v8'

For all you leechers out there who only ever take and dont give back i just want you to know the effort these guys go to in order to help us all.

I recently managed to get a new Western and Central Europe map v810.1940. So i thought .....excellent i can finally give something back other than my gratitude to the likes of Rytenuff and BuMobiles (sorry if i missed anyone but these 2 guys seem to provide most of the help on here).
So i got my map 1.5gb worth and zipped it in to 100mb chunks ready to upload.
I have now been uploading on and off since friday i think, as there are 15 files and each one is taking 45 mins to upload.

To be honest its a pain in the @ss and if i hadnt had all the help i have had from this thread i would have given up by now.

So............................
next you one of you newbies comes on and winges or whines about "all the links are dead""i NEED this map and that map" please bear in mind the time taken just to supply you your map when the links keep getting removed or blocked. Not to mention the hours spent answering questions which have been answered before and can be found if YOU put in a little effort of your own!!!!!

Until now i had really not appreciated it all..................:)

So thanks Rytenuff thanks BuMobiles and all you other guys who have helped and provided links in the past.....most of us do appreciate you........

Just stuck to version 6 of the Tomtom and managed to get version 6 Europe maps.

Now, where can i download version 6 VOICES ? and Speed cameras ?

Sorry to be a pain again but i hadnt got round to trying this until now...
Just tried renaming that system1 file to system but still getting nowt happening.
I tried resetting and rebooting but it just boots up as before.

Am i missing something?

I used that file "system2" in the italian rar file. and its updated to 5.5012.

I think though i must have a faulty 4gb SD as it will not work, it just freezes on the opening tomtom hands screen.

Seems like you are the most knowledgable in this forum. So far i was able to understand what u explained here. i read most of the pages on this forum, but seems like an information overload, and i m confused. All i wanna do is update my two three years old USA tomtom go 910 to latest maps and versions. i was able to download this 8.011 version but having problem finding appropriate maps for it. which version maps i should be looking for? i want mainly North America and Europe. can u point me to the right direction?
