TomTom v7 Firmware and Maps

Seems like you are the most knowledgable in this forum. So far i was able to understand what u explained here. i read most of the pages on this forum, but seems like an information overload, and i m confused. All i wanna do is update my two three years old USA tomtom go 910 to latest maps and versions. i was able to download this 8.011 version but having problem finding appropriate maps for it. which version maps i should be looking for? i want mainly North America and Europe. can u point me to the right direction? Thank you so much for your wonderful inputs to users like me.

rytenuff:::: i forgot to mention, on my TOMTOM GO 910, it's App version is 7.162 (8492/071121) os2327 and version of the maps are North America =660.1215 and Europe is 660.1219 and on my desktop i m running TOMTOM Home 2.3:confused:

Hi Guys,

Im Sarah From the Netherlands and lately i've purchased the t-mobile version of samsung Omnia witch has a integrated A-GPA chip gratefully. I've made some attempts to install TTN7 with BENELUX maps but i failed at the last step :suicide:. I'll try to explain what i did step by step and hope some one can help me make this TomTom "go"!

Files included in my download:

Instructions I followed:

1. I installed ttn7 by putting the cab file in Omnias 8gb internal memory and running it
2. I Copied the folders RASTER and VOICES to the “navigator” map created after the installation
3. I extracted and copied the folder of Benelux to the root of the memory
4. I searched for the device ID by reading the “ttnavigator.bif” file with note pad
5. I copied the Benelux-10.meta (from the map file), the meta code (pasted in a meta.txt file) and tt7_keygen.exe to my D:\TTN7
6. Opened the command prompt on my pc and navigated to this folder
7. I Executed the command: tt7_keygen.exe D:\TTN7 “my device coe”
8. I got the "OK" message and the new “Benelux-10.meta.dct” that came with it
9. I copied this new Benelux-10.meta.dct file along with the old Benelux-10.meta file back to the root of the memory

Results:

Finally I opened tomtom adjusted voice etc. till I couldn’t go on because of the message CANT FIND ANY MAPS appeared

I tried the same steps with an other map (TomTom7.Australia.v720.1838) just to be sure. Still I got the same message!

Is there anyone who experienced same issue? How can I solve this? I look forward to your answers!!

Thank you so much, i will try to find the right maps for which version i will go with it. atleast now i know, what i m looking for. it's easier to find it afterwards.

I finally got it working. i guess the onley prob was i didnt put the map on the root of my internalmemory. in stead i put it in the folder were ttn7 was installed on the device... how stupid!

But now i like to install cameras for benelux and car icons................. anyone knows how to do that?

Because we are all stealing from TomTom.
Strangely enough, they don't seem to like that.
They employ people whose job it is to scour the net looking for links to misappropriated property belonging to them and ask the sites which are hosting the said stolen property, like Rapidshare and MegaUpload etc. to remove it sharpish.
The result is that people like you (who made your first post yesterday and have contributed nothing since registering in Nov 2007) just pop along looking for an easy link to stolen stuff and can't understand why what you want is not there when you want it, ignoring the fact that most of it was posted weeks, if not months ago!
If you HAD bothered to read any of the previous posts in the forums you WOULD have already known this and I wouldn't be answering this post.

The device id is in the ttNavigator.bif on the SD card after you have installed tomtom.

Best way is to use a card reader and open file in notepad.

Presumably you have installed tomtom already and are trying to activate the maps with the easytools keygen????

ok this is driving me bonkers. ive updated the 910 with home v2 to 7.161. ive copied a western and central europe map 7.20 to the 910. ive run the easytools auto option, and still i can only see the version 6 maps that came with the 910. what am i doing wrong? i even copied a map of the UK and NI version 7.20, from my phone which running is 7.45, to the 910 and still nothing. home v2 says the maps are on the 910, but if i go to the purchase maps screen it says i can buy the newer maps. any ideas?

No, I haven't downloaded your map. I clicked on the, "Thanks" button to show appreciation for "A useful post" which is what the, "Thanks" button is for.

You'll need a cracked version of Tomtom7 for your PDA. The official version will not recognised maps except those installed (and purchased) via Tomtom Home.

but this is for my friends 910, my pda phone works fine. so will i need a craked version for the 910? i tried the ttsystem patcher but it seemed to make no difference, i still couldnt see the maps.

im having a bit of trouble im not sure if anyone can help me, ive installed tom tom ok on my omnia, i put them map on my memory card, so i need to do the patch thing now which is ok but i need the device code, this is the problem cos when i start up tom tom it doesnt give me the device code it just says activation failed this is not the correct activation code? but i have not put a cod ein, any ideas? thanks

If i understand correctly you are trying to work out which map is working?

If so open tomtom with map thats working, then click on gps signal in bottom right of screen (looks like some steps going up).
Then on next screen it will say in bottom right the application number (should be 7.xx in your case) CLICK on that.

It will then tell you all kinds of info like app no. boot etc. It also tells you the map version you are running.

you cannot use v7 maps only v6 maps as it is a symbian phone and only uses navigator 6 symbian software. the latest you can get is tomtom navigator 6 6.020 with 6.75 maps. there is no v7 software to use v7 maps on symbian handsets yet.

I am not trying to compete but seeing your post i had a quick look at my rapidshare log and i can top that.

I uploaded tomtom 7 for pocket pc a few days ago. I have had 52 downloads so far, guess how many thanks i have had.............1!!!!!!

I know what i will do next time....put a password on it and get thanked before i release it.

That idea would be spot on, except I and many others cannot upload ANY type of file to these forums. I know HOW to do it but it always says upload failed. I thought it was because I had not reached 500 posts yet but you can obviously do it without 500 posts under your belt so it isn't that.
Many members have asked about this from the mods but they have seen fit to ignore the problem.

I uploaded tomtom 7 for pocket pc a few days ago. I have had 52 downloads so far, guess how many thanks i have had.............1!!!!!!

I know what i will do next time....put a password on it and get thanked before i release it.

This is the advice I got How to do it.
. copy the ttsystem from your device to the folder where the Patcher is Installed
2. Run the RunMe.bat
3. copy the new ttsystem file back to the device
4. all is done

I don't know what to do first and what?
There must be a better explanation I hope.
Or I am stuck.

This will help you sort out what to do about installing the v7xx navcore:

Connect the TomTom to the PC and switch it on, select Yes when asked about connection to PC. If TomTom Home software starts up close it down as it is of no assistance when following this method.

I also assume you have a full backup of the device, if not make a full back up BEFORE doing anything else.

First of all you will need WinRar software on the PC to follow this installation guide, it can be downloaded for a free 40 day evaluation period from Here (http://www.rarlab.com/)

When you click the link to the manual software update download you get the option to Open or Save, choose the Save option and save the file to the desktop (it is easier to find it later on this way).

run the meta.bat and the dct.bat and enter the device id, this will patch the selected maps on your tomtom device and then patch the ttsystem via the patcher as described above in the posts:cool:

You cannot patch official v8 navcore as downloaded from Home. you need to use the already cracked v8 as posted by Bu on post *59 in the thread TomTom v8 Software and Maps .

The patcher you have is for tomtom standalone units not pocket pc.

You need the easytools keygen (find link in this forum) then you can load my files to sd card and install and use keygen to crack map.

Here is the keygen that should patch the TT7 maps on your pocket pc SD card.

Run the run me for all automatic program and put your SD card in a card reader (thats the easiest way).

Then just follow instructions on screen.

I will try make it as simple as i can...here goes.

You downloaded the pocket pc software which included the following files:
Raster
Voices
Zip
TTN_7.450.9028.cab

Copy all these to SD card

Also you need a map folder (in your case is it the Australia map? 720)

All these are copied to root of SD card (main area of SD card)

Then insert SD into pocket pc.
Using "file manager" program on pocket pc find SD card and click on

TTN_7.450.9028.cab

it should install tomtom 7 (click on yes if it asks to overwrite anything etc)

it will then ask you to set some preferences (language, voice choice etc)

When it gets to choosing map it will fail as you have an uncracked map at this stage.
Let it fail then do a soft reset on pocket pc to go back to main today screen.

now eject the SD card from the pocket pc and insert in to computer.

you should now have a file on the SD card called TTNAVIGATOR.BIF.

open this with notepad and you will see various info about the pocket pc tomtom install.
about 5 lines down it will say "device id = AB12CD EF34GH" or similar.

This is your device id (10 digits with letters and numbers).

WRITE THIS DOWN!!!

now leave the SD card in the card reader and open the keygen folder you have downloaded from my post.

click on the "runmeforallautomatic" file and choose option 2 (tomtom 7).

then choose option 1 "run keygen for all maps on your device"

it will now ask you to choose the location of your SD card with the maps on you need cracking.

They reckon they can trace each download to individual members so if like me you have paid pocketgps for the speed cams then you wont give them away as if they got in wrong hands its a ban and the money i paid out is lost.

The .dct file is to enable Tomtom7 to unlock your map. Copy it to the same folder as your map, and the map will work fine!

All seems to be in order - voice, raster, map.

Copy the .dct file to Australia folder.

tt7 remains RARed (can't see extension), and I assume it is a .cab and has been executed to get you ttnavigator.bif. This file is no longer needed, unless you plan to reinstall TT7 in the future.

You should be good to go. Just make sure the GPS is paired via bluetooth, and enabled via Windows to use one of the COM ports for TT7 to pick up the signal.

1)Why do you have a ttmobile.bif? i dont have that.
2)usually when you extract the .cab file it disappears, have you copied an extra one on there? (i do that incase it ever goes flat so can be reinstalled)

Further to my earlier post, i am still struggling to get this to work.

make sure you have a copy of the latest Easytools and then you can use the keygens in it to get any map working.

Here is the keygen that should patch the TT7 maps on your pocket pc SD card.

Run the run me for all automatic program and put your SD card in a card reader (thats the easiest way).

Then just follow instructions on screen.

YOU MUST HAVE ALREADY INSTALLED THE PROGRAM FIRST SO YOU CAN GET YOUR DEVICE ID FROM THE TTNAVIGATOR.BIF FILE.

Hi all, i just installed tt7 with uk and ireland map version 720.1802 .it seems its not recognising the inbuilt gps receiver on my htc trinity or spv m700 .pls is there any solution.previously i used tt6 with the inbuilt gps working.thankx

To make it all simple for you :D

1, delete all stuff off the storage device
2, connect to tomtom home and press update tomtom
3, keep doing this until you have v7.xx firmware (v7.161 is the best)
4, copy you maps to your storage device
5, run the tomtom keygen 2.2 (that i posted)
6, click on RunMeforAllAutomatic.cmd select option 2, option 1 (Keygen for all maps)
7, after finished, run it again and select option 2, option 2 (ttSystem Patcher)
8, unplug your device and have fun.....:cool:

Now does anyone have a female english TTS voice as the only one i got to work was "Samantha".

For some reason the Kate voice in my LoquendoTTS folder will not work...anyone know why?it just crashes the sound and i have to reboot to get it back. i got it from this forum way back with the navcore 8 update.

I had Kate on my machine but it wouldnt work.

Everytime i tried to select it, it just crashed the sound and i had to reboot to get sound back.

Here is a full set of voices from Nav 6 but i am sure they are the same as Nav7 chk & vif files only difference is they go into voice folder not TomTom folder like in Navigator 6.

I had Kate on my machine but it wouldnt work.
Everytime i tried to select it, it just crashed the sound and i had to reboot to get sound back.

Can't help you there. The voices work perfectly on iGo8 on my PPC, but TT7 for PPC does not use them.

Have a look at www.Tomtom.com. If you can find maps of India, then search the fora and web for it. Otherwise, it does not exists.

Running Tomtom7 version 9028,9030 and then 9033 successfully on my HTC Touch Dual and WM6.1. Also successfully loaded it on HTC Touch Pro. Note that Tomtom7 was ripped off a Diamond running WM6.1.

Does this mean that it wont work without the ripped Diamond version of tomtom? Could you post this since I also have a touch pro. Thanks!

I can´t do update to version 8.0.10. I restored my tomtom´s GO memory card to the version 6.110.I lunched TomTom home/update my GO - and I saw "tomtom aplication for go 510" .I selected this aplication and now I´m having oance again the version 7.161 (the version who gives me that error).But what I have to do to update to version 8 ??

I have TomTom One XL. I updated the software to the latest TomTom application. I need a map for Ireland and U.K urgently. Please include detailed instruction on how to install them as i didn't see it anywhere. Here's the issue i encountered couple of weeks ago:

1- Was able to download maps for U.K and Ireland. Not sure if they were the right ones or not.
2- Since I have TomTom One, its built in memory is only 1GB.
3- I added the Ireland map on a 2GB SD card and suddenly everything stopped working even the U.S and Canada map. Luckily i did a backup before adding anything and was able to retrieve the original map.

Please help. By the way, i heard that for TomTom One XL, you cannot put 2 maps on 2 cards. Everything has to be on one card. Is this true?

Neither of your 2 systems take tomtom 7.
N95 takes only tomtom 6
6680 only tomtom 5

Although i have yet to play with an XL i think you need to copy the hard drive to an SD card if you want to run maps from the SD card.

A few little tips on making your tomtom one xl work with a memory card

1, copy all data from internal memory to the sd card
2, download your new maps
3, copy the extracted maps to a folder on tomtom sd card
4, download the keygen and run it
5, patch the tomtom system file, meta and dct files
6, have fun...!

I finally got the TTS voices to work, its amazing what happens when you follow the instructions to the letter....lol

Now does anyone have a female english TTS voice as the only one i got to work was "Samantha".

These are the ones in the VocalizerTTS folder.

For some reason the Kate voice in my LoquendoTTS folder will not work...anyone know why?it just crashes the sound and i have to reboot to get it back. i got it from this forum way back with the navcore 8 update.

There are only 6 voices available for use with the VocalizerTTS system.
Two Spanish voices Javier and Paulina, two French Julie and Felix and two US English Samantha and Tom.
The voices for the Loquendo system are not compatible with the Vocalizer system.
The TomTom One v2 can use the Loquendo system if you select emulation ONE+TTS+SDK. The "big" voices EnglishUk -Kate-290MB and EnglishUk - Simon - 271mb work best.

last week tom tom spread a new nc 7.900. now you can use with nc 7.900 8.xx maps on ur go x10. update ur item with tt home and go to nc 7.900 and
replace the ttsys with the file in the link below. it works very wll on my go 710. but nc 8.203 work much better for me, but it´s a sweet think for

The latest Navcore release for Windows Mobile is 7.910(9185); 7.450 & 7.451 have now been superceeded. I was intrigued by the fact that someone with Navcore 7.900 (on a TomTom PNA) was running with version 8.x maps. Up until now I have never seen any posts about any Navcore 7.x version being able to read version 8.x maps.

Does anyone know if it's possible to read version 8.x maps with Navcore for Windows Mobile? Is it likely a newer release will appear that does?

Yes. Navcore 7.900 supports V8 maps. As stated on Tomtom's web site, :)

you need to patch the cam files, just like you would with a map file, copy the files to the 'insert_meta_from_Map_here' folder with your map files run the 'RunMeforDCT.cmd' choose option 1 then copy the map and cam files back to your map folder.

OK, is this the case also with Navcore 7.910(9185) for Windows Mobile as well?
I have the UK & Ireland 8.10(1870) map but this is not recognised on my PDA, only the 7.25(1871) map I have is recognised (both patched with the latest tt8_keygen).
I know you said maps version 8.15, however I have never seen any maps later than 8.10?

you need to download a patcher version of firmware 7.900 or 8.0.10 and copy it onto your device, then patch your maps again :D
