It does,nt look like tomtom are going to get version 7 mobile launched by the expected first 1/4 of 2008 unless they pull thier fingers out in the next few days.

I have been using TTGO 520 for last few days in glasgow and was very disappointed to see that the route errors which are on my map 6.75( N730 are still there on the latest version on TTGO maps. What a waste of money and, if any one is looking to buy new device just for the sake of getting latest maps, think twice.
If the glasgow maps are not updated i am quite sure there will be many other cities with same problems.:mad:

you have a broken wire on the speaker,
take apart and solder new wires from the pcb to the speaker
or buy a new speaker and replace it :D

had that problems a lot of times and always fixed it :cool:

Is there a reason that Tom Tom 6 for the PALM T/X seem to run smoother on a 1 GB card than it does any card larger than that ? I noticed it last night when i installed TT6 on my PALM. At first I thought it was the maps that was using up most the RAM but it wasn't. I have 1.4 MB free ram now after using TT6. Also, are there any apps that can provide extra memory or some sort of hack app ??

Is there a reason that Tom Tom 6 for the PALM T/X seem to run smoother on a 1 GB card than it does any card larger than that ? I noticed it last night when i installed TT6 on my PALM. At first I thought it was the maps that was using up most the RAM but it wasn't. I have 1.4 MB free ram now after using TT6. Also, are there any apps that can provide extra memory or some sort of hack app ??

the reason it will run smoother on a smaller memory card is that the data is stored differently on a smaller card than a HC Memory Card :cool:

there is no hacks or apps to help with tomtom but there is loads of utils for speeding up pocket pc's, etc

search on www.torrentz.com (http://www.torrentz.com) for 'pocket pc' and you'll find loads :D

ive been searching these pages for days now and i cannot for the life of me find a working version of tomtom for my nokia 6110.
i dont really care what version (v7 would be good ) it is, but i cant seem to get any working,,either the required files just arent even recognized as the right file types or as in the case of "tomtom for nokika e61" it comes up with certificate expired.when trying to install.

you have a corrupt ttsystem file

first rename the ttsystem to ttsystem.bak,
then rename the ttsystem.old back to ttsystem
try patching it again....!

if that doesn't work,
download the tomtom formware from this thread for your go 510-710-910 v7 firmware,
delete all the files from your tomtom device storage card then copy all files from the download to the storage card,
copy the maps and run the keygen,
create the patched ttsystem and away you go :D

All you need is to copy the program itself to the SD card and run it from there. Then you need to copy your system file on the SD and patch it and recopy to the device and you'll done. Myself I had the same problem a few weeks ago. If your English is bad I can explain you all in Romanian ;).

Hi finally I've resolved the issue.
My ttsystem and map were OK from the beginning...
The problem was an error in the TT fyle system. I checked with (in case drive G:) "chkdsk g: /f" and after fixinf the file system everything worked as expected.

and still the problem continues.

another question => copy all the map files into the "insert meta file here" folder or just the meta file? because until now i only copied the meta file to this folder. it created a dct file and copied them back to the device!

ok, thanks again for your help here. I really appreciate it.. I have a G-SAT BT-359C gps receiver to use with my PALM for Tom Tom 6. I noticed sometimes it takes a while before it can pick up the satellite signal. Should i turn on the receiver first and then load up Tom Tom or vice versa ?? I installed the Tom Tom home from my PC and when i load it up it says there are no updates.

I have tried a different card out of another working unit & it does the same with that card inserted.
i have also tried the Flash_Memory_Clear program with no results.

try updating your firmware to 7.162 and it will update your firmware inside your tomtom device

if not there maybe a hardware fault causing it to restart itself, take apart and look for damage !

Have you installed the speed camera's too

After you have downloaded the Talking Speed Camera's you need to extract your normal speed camera's to the maps folder then copy the talking files into the map folder after !!!!!!

ATTENTION PEOPLE

when you update your Tomtom Go 520/720, One V3 / V4 with the new firmware supplied via tomtom home be careful, because when you run the tomtom file system patcher it won't work with the new file system.

the patch will work, but when you try and load up your device you will see a red cross and have too delete the ttsystem file then replace it with the older patched version :D

Just copy your mid file from your tomtom maps

into a new folder, then download the tomtom keygen.exe and copy into same folder, next create a new text file called
map.bat then edit it and enter this

put this inside i.e.

Go_Keygen.exe [Name of the Mid File]
so it will look like this


Go_Keygen.exe "UK_and_IE_plus_major_roads_of_WE 6.75.mid"
pause

then save it, run it, enter your device id and key into your tomtom device :D

3 files for each poi should be there

This is my first post and i need some questions answered (i have been lokking at various threads but confused to what i exactly need and how to install tomtom). Here is my scenario:

I have got the O2 xda stellar (aka the HTC TyTN II) with windows mobile 6 and i would like to put tomtom on it with UK and IE maps only, voices and if possible to install the camera databases. I have also ordered a 2GB micro sd card as well.

Can anyone help me in regards to what i need and how to install it on my phone?

found two dll's

npTomTomEmulatorPlugin.dll in C:\Program Files\TomTom HOME 2\xul\plugins
and
HOMEServices.dll in C:\Program Files\TomTom HOME 2\xul\components

try copying both files into the insert_meta_here folder and run the Keygen then copy the patched files back to the same folder as found :D

Back to the last topic I cant get map corrections working from TT Home as it says they are 29 weeks out of date (18948 free map corrections waiting).

I just installed 715_1703 works perectly.
Any help would be appreciated regarding updating mapshare as TT still aint got in touch about this.

BUT: i can't copy map with TomTom, the GUI does not permit that... i can copy already installed map but not the western_map (not proposed by the user interface).

Includes the Show/Hide Tips but doesnt give you the Map Corrections so far.

1. Open mspaint.exe ( Start > Run > mspaint.exe )
2. Open BMP image that you want to use as a car symbol ( File > Open )
3. Edit image to make some nice symbol
4. Fill in the image background with red (RGB 255,000,000)

It didnt work....
But what I did notice is that while doing this after doing the patch to get the new map on my TT that I had a few files missing the :
MapServerPatch.dat, ServerLineIndex.dat and ServerNameIndex.dat.
So... I replaced these files with the ones I downloaded with the map before patching and now my corrections are only 5 weeks old compared to 30 weeks old.

click on the gps signal icon (located in the top left corner),
select 'use attached GPS'

p.s. if you don't see 'use attached GPS' you haven't unlocked your device :)

I have access only to mac's so is there any way someone could run the keygen for me if a provide you with the info? I would greatly appreciate it. The only TomTom software that will work on the N95 is TomTom Navigator 6 and you can not use the Intern GPS.

Word has it that the new TomTom mobile 7 will use the GPS but TomTom has not updated it yet

Hi BU , have trying to install this "Software for the TomTom Mobile 6.0 for Palm OS " on palm treo 680 , but the phone say DEVICE IS NOT COMPATIBLE WHIT THIS SOFT !

BuMobiles :Since this is the first time I have tried to get mapshare updates am I write in saying that this is the way it works ,by reading many different threads:

Theses are the files that get updated :
In the map Folder:
MapSettings.cfg
PatchFilter.dat
traffic.inc
ServerLineIndex.dat
ServerNameIndex.dat
MapServerPatch.dat

In Directory :

UserPatch.dat
CurrentMap.dat
PatchFilter.dat
settings.dat
ttgo.bif


If this is the case, can you uploaded someone elses files (if they have the same map as you) and overwrite your existing files if they can update as you cant.

Sorry about reposting but Its just to clarify that theses are the only files that get modified.

Also as I have the TT v3 with no SD card and only 512mb.
is there a new firmware out yet that I can update too as i have 7.166 and this moment in time with the UK 715_1703 Map

yes them files get updated,

i've never had a problem with Map Corrections (Map Share)

p.s just wait for tomtom home server to come back online and then press 'update my device'

As another TT user says before when going into mapshare preferences I cannot select a country to install update for corrections is this down to the server being down or something else.

i have a tomtom go 720 and a older tomtom one v3 too :D

Yeah I had one of those bricks before getting this.
Dont suppose you have a UK map that you recently updated the corrections too.
I could maybe use the files you got and overwrite mine....

ok, here is a deal :) , lol, I was going on a short business trip to Poland so I downloaded eastern europe map and without thinking erased my usa-canada map, the best part is-the eastern europe map did not work so I left my tomtom one 3rd. ed. home in the states and borrowed my friend's. Anyway-now I copied all the stuff from his computer(backed up usa map) to my tt but cant get anything to work, I've tried everything that has been posted here to no avail-I guess I'm missing something-does anybody(Bu :) ) have step by step instructions??? thanx, Rob NJ

oops, it says " no maps found" ---(it says it in Polish-that's the weird part-eventhough I formatted the tt and loaded new stuff-does the language stay someplace else on tt even after formatting?)
