the id no can be found, you need to get your firmware updated 1st and make it load up then copy your maps onto your device and then your id no will show ???

they are easier ways too but need to have computer based skills to get it ?

Managed to get tomtom back working again,only trouble is when i insert the memory card it just hangs,and i have to press reset to turn it off.
Can someone tell me if i format the card and start again can i just copy the extra maps i want to the card or do i need other files first? IE system,as at the minute i have everything on the memory card what is on the tomtom apart from the extra maps.

Hi, I just got a Go 720 and have updated to Navcore 8. Works well with V705 map.

Does the V7Keygen etc work with the V8 application and V8 maps? The Western_and_Central_Europe V805 I downloaded was too big for my 2GB card so I deleted some bits for countries I am unlikely to go to to get it on. The patching etc seemed to go OK but although TomTom can see the maps it won't use them. Just says can't be used on this device. Any ideas anyone?

Yes it will but do you want Genuine Nav8 or patched Nav8?

You need to use latest Easyusetools and patch with v8 then TomTom will see both 720 and 805 maps (but Home won't.) If you patch Home with amended dll then Home will see your 805 map but not your 720 map! Swings and roundabouts. :) Easy with two PCs with two versions of Home or mess about changing the dll every time you want to use different maps. I have a TTOne v2 your milage may vary.

Hi guys, firstly i appologise but i have looked through about 100 pages of this thread and not found what im looking for so i thought i would ask and hope to get some help. I am getting a HTC touch diamond from work soon ( i work for orange in the uk) and i am wondering what version on tomtom will i need. It is unlikely that it will be on the orange firmware (someone said that it will be on the rom already. So i was hoping that some kind person could tell me which version will work and maybe point me at the right downloads for the software and maybe a uk map?

I used to know what i was doing with tt5 but this thread is just over my head!

Being my first post i'd like to use it to show my gratitude to all those who have taken the time to post links, instructions and replies to those in need. Its been tiring to read through all 1773 posts across 119 pages but i guess it was worthwhile since i got everything to work on first attempt.

However....
I noticed that when upgrading to v8.002 bluetooth usability is lost on my tt.go 910 not sure if this was just me or perhaps its down to the firmware, but since i never really used bluetooth before this makes no difference to me.

I do however have one questions which i am sure has not been asked before by the other and to some extent i think i can guess the answer but to make sure i'd like to hear a second opinion from someone else!! Is it possible to merge the Western_and_Central_Europe and Eastern_Europe maps into a single one so that navigation from west to east can be done without interruptions??? Any reply is most appreciated!!

Scrap the question i asked cos it seems that West & Central Europe also has the East Europe major roads too so no point in merging even if it was possible.

Now a more specific questions for those using navcore v8.002 and v8.05 maps is anyone else experiencing a slow response from the unit...i.e. machine responds some 5 seconds later to touches etc. Also when planning a really long route i.e. London - Moscow 1881 miles long the nav seems to get disoriented a little, and keeps planning re-routes although the route planning has already been finished once! If anyone had similar problems, can they please post something on here! Just for info...

I am getting a HTC touch diamond from work soon ( i work for orange in the uk) and i am wondering what version on tomtom will i need. It is unlikely that it will be on the orange firmware (someone said that it will be on the rom already. There's only one version of Tomtom7 for PPC out there. It was taken off the ROM of a HTC Diamond, and so will work fine. At presetn, Tomtom7 is only bundled with selected AT&T HTC Diamond only. Have not heard any announcements from Orange.

Install tomtom Home on your PC. Attach your go910 to it by USB. Home should offer you an updated Navcore.

rytenuff, it was the different preferences for the compass I was referring to. I have now asked TomTom and they suggested I request the cahnge back to the old version from their 2nd Line support. This I did. Anybody else who wants it back should do the same!

This is the exact configuration I am using on the HTC Kaiser (ATT Tilt) and it works really well.

- Is this map is the best to drive between Los Angeles, las Vegas and San Francisco?

This map will work, but there is a map covering the U.S Western Division that is a little more detailed as far as POI's and other smaller roads etc. Having said that, the map you are referencing will work really well for most circumstances. I have that western map but can not find the meta information for it so as of right now, it is of no use. Still hoping to find the meta and if I do, I will be more than happy to post the map with meta.

This is taken directly off the TomTom site for the western map:

Detailed regional map completely covering the states of Washington (WA), Oregon (OR), Idaho (ID), California (CA), Nevada (NV), Utah (UT) and Arizona (AZ). The state of Montana (MT) is partially covered.

I am not quite sure what you are asking but the map I am using is USA_and_Canada_720.1803. I patched it using the current meta file found on here and had no problems. As long as you can switch to the map (even if your not in the area) without the activation error, you should be fine when you get to the states.

Hi all i have just bought a TomTom one Europe 22 and i would like to know how i can put a copy of New Zealand map on to it.

I have a copy of N.Z v711 And a copy of tt7 keygen, tt7 metacheck, tt7 mapcheck, patcher and unsigner.

If this is all i need can someone tell me how to install my N.Z map and get it working and also do you know if the map will fit on the internal memory of the new TomTom one Europe with the other maps or will i have to delete the europe map as there is no memory card slot.

I have downloaded the western central europe map v7.20.1803 and after many attempts I have found the correct version of the patcher for 8.010 to patch the meta file and successfully created the new dct file. on a previous post it says that I still need a "patched version" of the ttsystem file 8.010 but no reference as to where this can be found.

I guess that this needs to replace the version on the tomtom itself, the unit is a one XL with UK maps do these need to be deleted before installing the new europe maps on to the sd card, is this all that goes on the sd card or do I need to copy other system info on to the sd card as well ? :confused:

I have 'lightly' searched for this and trawled through most of this thread but can't find an answer so here goes (don't shoot me down if the answer has already been posted....)

I have a HTC Kaiser running WM6.1, I previously had TomTom Navigator 6.032(8351) along with the V6.75 UK & Ireland maps. I recently got Navigator 7.450(9028) working along with the V7.20(1802) UK & Ireland Maps - all good :)
Now in a link in this thread was a link to another thread on another forum with all the TomTom Maps along with various Official TomTom Speed Cameras (.CAB files, the UK one contains 3 files that all start with 'Blitzer_AT_TomTom'). What I can't find is how to activate the Speed Cameras. I know how to activate the Maps and have done for a few people now but I can't find anything on activating the Speed Cameras. Is there a separate application? I can see the speed cameras in the Meta.txt file?

Anyone know what the most current tomtom edition out there for the treo 680? I currently have ver 6.030(8270) ..driver v1.20 and with usa and canada maps 675_1409 v675.1409. It seams to work very, very slowly. Can be quite annoying ...used to have an older version working on my prev treo650. This one responded rather quicky. Anyone know what the most current tomtom edition out there for the treo 680? I currently have ver 6.030(8270) ..driver v1.20 and with usa and canada maps 675_1409 v675.1409. It seams to work very, very slowly. Can be quite annoying ...used to have an older version working on my prev treo650. This one responded rather quicky. Can anyone offer any advice? perhaps its time to by a stand alone gps unit.

I have 'lightly' searched for this and trawled through most of this thread but can't find an answer so here goes (don't shoot me down if the answer has already been posted....)

I have a HTC Kaiser running WM6.1, I previously had TomTom Navigator 6.032(8351) along with the V6.75 UK & Ireland maps. I recently got Navigator 7.450(9028) working along with the V7.20(1802) UK & Ireland Maps - all good :)
Now in a link in this thread was a link to another thread on another forum with all the TomTom Maps along with various Official TomTom Speed Cameras (.CAB files, the UK one contains 3 files that all start with 'Blitzer_AT_TomTom'). What I can't find is how to activate the Speed Cameras. I know how to activate the Maps and have done for a few people now but I can't find anything on activating the Speed Cameras. Is there a separate application? I can see the speed cameras in the Meta.txt file?

After a bit more searching I found out how to do this.... Someone put together a .pdf file with instructions on getting this working with standalone TomTom devices and most of it was still applicable to TomTom Navigator Mobile. If anyone is interested the instructions were in the archive NavE.rar.

Thanks for the reply. I've applied the Patched version of Nav8 to OneV1 and Aus 720 maps, works great. I think i will wait for the easytool for the official Nav8 and Aus version 8 maps for my 720. I could be wrong, for me, there isn't much different between the Nav7 and Nav8. I was hoping that the new Nav8 will give me back Voice Command navigation and Lane Assist, guess have to wait and see:)

If you have installed the patched version of Nav8 then the latest EasyUsetools will make a dct for v8 maps. nothing to lose as long as you backup your maps.

When I said you need to change the Nav8 OFFICIAL ttsystem file for the patched one, I meant that you can't use patched maps with the Nav8 OFFICIAL ttsystem. If you are using bought maps then no problem for a device that can officially use Nav8.

Usually you just put the cams in the map folder and activate them with RunMeForAll. Is that not working for you?

I put my SD card into a cardreader
I placed the two files Safety_Cam_UK_TomTom.ov2 (OV2 file) and Safety_Cam_UK_TomTom.Ov2 ( VER file) into the map folder.
I placed the map meta file " United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ireland-12.meta" into the EasyUseTools "insert meta from Map here" folder.
I placed the meta.txt file into the EasyUseTools folder.
I wrote my device ID into the "Device ID" text doc. e.g. AT2RWA4HRY "without spaces"
I ran "RunMeForAllAutomatic"
It produced a "Safety_Cam_UK_TomTom.ov2 DCT file. So it does work.

You need to be more specific. Which Navcore is installedi n your TomTom? What version of the Australia map are you trying to activate? Which version of EasyUseTools are you using? do you have the meta.txt for your map?
BTW if that is your proper Device ID it is not a good idea to post it on a forum. Omit the space in it when entering it in the Device ID text

Ok. Well I think I understand you. You want to "upgrade" your SD card to run a later version of the OS (Nav 8) and then run a copied North America map also on SD (ver 7.20) using your TT unit ? If that is the case then I'm not sure if you can do this ?
AFAIK your TT unit will "boot" to the system (OS) on the main memory and not to an OS on the SD card. If you are not happy with "upgrading" the OS then use a backwardly compatable map like ver 6 which will run on the existing OS.

IF it is possible to do what you are asking then I guess someone who has done it will step forward to help :) . However, I would think of this in the same terms as a PC (almost) ie if you have MSDOS 6 on your main boot disk, then you can't boot to windows XP on a different drive unless you have some kind of multiple boot option installed and I haven't seen that option anywhere for TT units (so far anyway).

I can't quite remember the old v7 keygen and how it works. Try downloading the new version (see post#1868) It has the keygen for v7 and v8 Navs. It will patch v7 too.
Delete the DCT file you have made for your NZ map ( NOT YOUR ORIGINAL UK MAP) but save it to your PC just in case.
For your nav ( assuming it is 7.***x Check this by touching the right box. It will say the version number) select RunMeForAllAutomatic, choose option 2.
It gives you the choice of 1,2 and 3.
First run 1, when it is finished run 2 then when it is finished run 3.

TomTom home saved a copy of 7.522 & 8.010 automaticaly in my TomTom folder in my docs so i just used the first one as for the other i will check it out.

To make it all simple for you :D

1, delete all stuff off the storage device
2, connect to tomtom home and press update tomtom
3, keep doing this until you have v7.xx firmware (v7.161 is the best)
4, copy you maps to your storage device
5, run the tomtom keygen 2.2 (that i posted)
6, click on RunMeforAllAutomatic.cmd select option 2, option 1 (Keygen for all maps)
7, after finished, run it again and select option 2, option 2 (ttSystem Patcher)
8, unplug your device and have fun.....:cool:

Usually you just put the cams in the map folder and activate them with RunMeForAll. Is that not working for you?

The cams come from TomTom and are up to date on 22/7/08 and meta is up to date too. See post #1876 .
If you are trying to use the PocketGPS ones with this method it won't work.

Hey everyone. I'm running into a serious problem that I hope you all can help me out with. I've read through this thread but I can't figure out how to fix my problem. I guess I'm too new at this.

I have a TomTom One 3rd Edition. I recently installed the TomTom7 USA and Canada v720.1802 Map. Now, whenever I turn my TT on, it goes to the startup screen and just stays there until the battery runs all the way down. I tried to "Operate My One" with TomTom Home (v2.3) only to have it give me a fatal error message with code-9000.

How can I fix this? I'm planning a trip on Wednesday and would really like to use my One again. Thanks in advance!

Before I had Tomtom verion 6 with map Western_Europe_675.1322 by navteq, all was okey. When I have upgraded to Tomtom version 7 it was okey for maps v7, the problem is that the the above map that I want does not work on Tomtom v7. Please let me know if anyone knows if maps form Tomtom version 6 will work on Tomtom verion 7 or if i need a meta.txt for that map to work and where can i download it.

Version 6 maps used a .mid file not a .meta file. Are you talking about Tomtom Navigator 7 for a PDS like Symbian or Palm or do you mean Navcore7 like used in Tomtom Go or Tomtom One?

You don't have to read a meta file or modify its content.

Download a map. e.g. Western_Europe_720_1803
Examine its content, along with many other files you will see a file called Western_Europe-13.meta
You will also need a text list called a Meta.txt which along with others will contain the name of the map you wish to crack. for the example map it is:

30 54 AB E3 28 41 6B 64 2F EA 41 86 1E 08 91 CC Western_Europe-13.meta
This is the code to enable the keygen to make a file called a .DCT file which will unlock your map.

Will someone help me activate a map please?
I have spent two full days trying and if I see 'no meta .txt found', 'file missing' or 'no maps found' I will launch my laptop at the nearest wall.
I downloaded the Western & Central Europe 7.20 map (2gb) then created a file on my desktop called 'insert_meta_from_Map_here' I then copied the map meta file and the pna file from the above map to the 'insert_meta_from_Map_here'
I then edited the meta file to just show the one that corresponds to my map and also pasted my device id in the 'DeviceIDText' and place both into the 'insert_meta_from_Map_here' file.
At this point I have tried everything and achieved nothing.
I'm not being lazy honestly and have given it a bloody good go!
Can someone please help?

You have not said which device or Navcore you are using. We will assume it is a tomtom device like a One and not a Symbian phone type device and that you are using Navcore 7.
We assume you are using one of these maps:

You must type YOUR device ID into the Device ID text file in CAPITALS with NO spaces like AD2RWAY3TR ( important)
Open your map folder and find the file called ( I'm guessing here as you didn't say which map you have!) Western_and_Central_Europe-14.meta META File and drag it into the folder called, "insert meta from map here".
Double Click the Command Script called, "RunMeforAllAutomatic"
You are presented with options 1 and 2. As we are assuming you have Navcore 7 you type 2, and press enter.
You now have three options 1, 2, and 3.
You type 1 and press enter.
A DCT file will be made in the "insert meta from map here" folder. Copy BOTH files META and DCT back into your map folder
The map is now cracked.
You now need to crack the Navcore ttsystem file
If your device is attached to your PC via USB then you now select option 2 . And wait until you get the finished or done message.
So that your cracked v7maps will show on TTHome you now select option 3.

Done!

You are asked for a drive letter. This is the drive letter that your PC gave the tomtom when you connected it. Look in "My Computer" for it when you connect and before you begin the crack so you will know what letter to type in.

You do not need to connect your Tomtom If you only want the DCT file to crack your map.
Place both the META file and the PNA file from your map folder into the, "insert meta from map here" folder and your device ID into the Device ID file as before but run Command Script "RunMeforDCT" this time.
Select 2 (for Nav7) then enter, and then 1 and enter. Copy all 3 files back into your map folder.

NB Don't get confused by the Basic Explanation messages. They are not what is happening only explanations of what the messages would mean if you got them,

Thank you for the reply but can I ask after placing the Meta and Pna files into the the 'insert_meta_from_Map_here' were do I place the my device id file and were do I place the contents of the keygen zip file or do I just run it from within it's self?
I keep getting the 'No DeviceID. txt found' and it's driving me up the wall.

You can just download the EasyUseTools ( for that is what the keygen package is called ) to your desktop. Open the EasyUseTools folder. All the keygens and folders contained in it are as described above . Leave it all in there and follow the above instructions. If you actually get around to downloading it you will see for yourself.
One thing I missed. When you type your device ID into the Device ID Text you must naturally click on, "File" then "Save" to save your device ID in the text doc. I thought that was obvious but you never know!

Tap in the box with the time then version box. Boot 5.5012 will allow use of sdhc cards. Home will only see 4GB though.

Firstly this step is NOT reversible! It is a system change and I take no responsibility if your device becomes a brick, although many have done this upgrade.
Secondly, not everyone agrees that your device will see any more than 4GB though it will enable the use of sdhc cards of 4GB at least.
It can be difficult to find 4GB in ordinary SD format.
The file is called, "system".
To install, you rename your existing "system" file ( found in root) to system.old and place the downloaded one called system in root with it. With this download there is another file called system2. I do not read Italian so I don't know what it is for. Ignore it.
I have upgraded my One v2 with this "system" file ( again note, NOT "system2" ) without problem.
On reboot your device will show a please wait then continue bootup.
Look in version it will say Boot 5.5012

You can't run maps you have NOT bought i.e. cracked/stolen maps, on official uncracked Navcore 8 .

I followed rytenuff 's instusction and copy the bootloader to my TomTom XlS device , even though TomTom official site said not support sdhc , it works for 4GB ( my sdhc is 8GB, believe the max only 4 GB instead for this bootloader version ) after copy the bootloader in my device. well , I have more capacity to load more maps in it.

I have a TT920 and it works fine with SDHC 8GB card, BUT the sync with PC via USB does not work with HC cards so you need to use a card reader/writer for HC with your PC then all is ok.

Other point to note is that if you change your card contents via USB reader/writer and then put back in your TT unit, then do a "reset" to force the TT to read the new contents of the card, then all is ok :D

You have not said which device or Navcore you are using. We will assume it is a tomtom device like a One and not a Symbian phone type device and that you are using Navcore 7.
We assume you are using one of these maps:

(Note if full details are given assumptions and therefore inevitable mistakes may be avoided)

First make sure that your map folder is named without spaces like, Western_and_Central_Europe_2GB_720_1802 (it matters)
Download the keygen from here: http://rapidshare.com/files/132412339/TOMTOM_NEW_8_KEYGEN.zip
This will crack 7 and 8 maps though it will not patch Nav8 ttsystem files or patch Home dll version 8.
When you open it up it will have 3 folders and 3 command scripts and 2 text files. One of them is called Meta, ignore it for now as there is another Meta text in the folder called Progs. (leave it there)
The other is called Device ID. You should type your Tomtom device id in there. It can be found by tapping in the rightside box where the time is and then tapping the version box. you will see SOMETHING LIKE " Device AD2RW AY3TR
You must type YOUR device ID into the Device ID text file in CAPITALS with NO spaces like AD2RWAY3TR ( important)
Open your map folder and find the file called ( I'm guessing here as you didn't say which map you have!) Western_and_Central_Europe-14.meta META File and drag it into the folder called, "insert meta from map here".
Double Click the Command Script called, "RunMeforAllAutomatic"
You are presented with options 1 and 2. As we are assuming you have Navcore 7 you type 2, and press enter.
You now have three options 1, 2, and 3.
You type 1 and press enter.
A DCT file will be made in the "insert meta from map here" folder. Copy BOTH files META and DCT back into your map folder
The map is now cracked.
You now need to crack the Navcore ttsystem file
If your device is attached to your PC via USB then you now select option 2 . And wait until you get the finished or done message.
So that your cracked v7maps will show on TTHome you now select option 3.

Done!

For people with a x20 or x30 device download this mini LoquendoTTS folder and put it in root.

Assuming your device is a Tomtom like a One or XL or 520 etc.

Re. above : The above post contains a text doc in root called, "changedtext". You change the message to read whatever you want, like "Johnny's TomTom ". It will display that message on bootup, or you could just remove the doc.

It also makes use of "Outsourced.bin This runs certain files from your SD card instead of RAM if you are short of memory (RAM)

i seem to recall reading on a post way back that you run a tomtom one v2?

Can you tell me which software you are running please?

I am currently running 7.162 but i have tried (when it first came out) v 8.002.(v8002.9117/080328)

With v8.002 i can run v7 maps (715 Uk or Europe) but i cant seem to activate v 8 maps (Have tried UK v805.1801).

When i try to use the new "run me for all automatic" keygen it says "map not activated".
Then when i boot up tomtom and try to switch to v8 map it says "sorry this is not the correct activation code for the product Uk and Ireland".

So

Am i ahead of myself?
Do the v8 maps not work with my device?
Do i need a later version of app?

See# 1973 for 8.011.9373 with patched ttsystem file. You will need to repatch your 715 maps with the EasyUseTools 8
using 1. Run it for Navcore 8.010 and higher. And for your v8 maps too.

It will still not allow the full link address.
Salim just add on to the very end ( no spaces) of the www.megaupload.com /?d=N2QJDVTS and download it. Then, after it downloads do it again but this time add on /?d=1QBDP85H
You will then have two files called RAR files. They need to be joined together . Download a prog. called WinRAR to do this. You can get a free trial of it which will do this.
