Answer To Reset Info
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ATR => 3B 3B

TS = 3B Direct convention
T0 = 3B
TA = 00
TB = 00

F = Internal Clock Baud rate = Clock * D/F [Hz]
D = 0
I = 25 mA Maximum programming current
P = 0 V Programming voltage
N = 0 Extra guardtime (Stop bit = 2+N)
T = 0 Protocol type

The Historical Characters: 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00

- Simply not enough information. It looks like some hardware malfunction.
What kind of reader do you use? Have you ever succeed extracting Ki before? What bitrate is being used? Does your quartz matches the bitrate? Where did you get your SIM-card? What are your COM-port settings and what kind of computer and OS are being used?

yes . its the simple sim master device . i have exctracted ki from my orange sim card in israel , but cannt get the key from cellcom sim . the sims are both new stk sims from gemplus , one from orange has 160 memory locations and the one from cellcom has 180 memory locations . f5 function of simscan simply sends bad data or bad response something like this .

- Your SIM's ATR is not correctly read.

1. First byte 3B - Direct convention
2. The second byte 3B states TA1 and TB1 bytes WILL be transmitted (first nibble =3) (They ARE transmitted but all are zeroes :( . There will be 11 historical bytes transmitted (the second nibble =B). - They are 11, but all zeros :(

- Tune your input. Change your computer, reader or try Cardinal 6.8 (it permits input delays tuning).

What about virus activity, another software, drivers, using your com-port?

Have a look at list of known ATR's:

http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=ru&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF8&selm=3CBED055.7070107%40phion.com

ATR structure is described in ISO-7816(3) and GSM aspects in GSM 11.11 section 5.8

FYI:
- Last year Dejan wrote: Run Sim Scan on Intel P1, P2 or P3 CPU, Intel BX chip set, 128 MB RAM, on Win95 or Win98 in DOS full screen mode.

Good luck :-)

thanks for reply . i dont think it something that uses my com port , first because i watch very closely for all activities on my pc second because it already did exctract ki from another stk sims . maybe the sim is not using comp 128 in it a3 protocol ? maybe it is modified ? any way going to try on another pc and maybe with other programmer .

- Correct reading ATR from a smartcard in responce to RESET is mandatory for any host device no matter of card contents, bitrate or authentication algorithms used.

Have fun :)

yes , i am aware of it . going to order better reader , with true phoenix protocol .
