hello all .
i have a big problem when i run the newest simscan anf try to get ki , if the operation is aborted and the computer halts for some reason like all kind of power off reasons the simscan doesnt saves a temporary file .
i dont have an ups ... can anyone tell how to make simscan save the work more frequently ???:( :( :( :( :(

sim scan will record it's status every 200 (hex) "attacks".
If the file is not written to your hard disk then make sure you have no disk caching software (smartdrive, windows) running
Everytime you exit the program (escape or any other key) the status is saved. This is how I handle the problem.
Anyway... does your power go away that often? It takes me 3 hours to scan the KI of a card with the new sim_scan. If I press escape once or twice per hour and resume the process it won't be a total loss...
yep you are right its saved every time i exit . but in my office i have many power downs and computer downs immediatly , and without my interupt and without savings ;-(

I need some information:
1) I not use sim scan because this program sais:
"Fatal Error: Card don't send Answer To Reset !"
There are some settings that don't I know?
2)I use a smartmouse: I need dejan hardware?

nope . you dont need dejan harsware . any phoenix programmer will do . the most important is that you have to run the program in windows 9x or under dos with 32 extender . also make sure that your hardware is connected to the serial port that you are using .

I bought the SIM master from U-cables.
I am trying to clone a SIM using Dejan's SIM-Scan.
I tried using 9600 bps but
I always get this errors:
Send data error
card don't send answer to reset
card not send correct answer to command
The SIM card that I am trying to clone is perfectly normal.
Help is needed and any comments are greatly appreciated
what os are you running ? and on what computer ?

AMD Athlon 900Mhz
try to run it on another computer with intel pentium processor . also check that you are using right com port .

Hmmm... I guess it doesn't run on win XP right?
The port is correct. I tried getting the IMSI and KI from an older SIM card and I didn't encounter any problems. Are new SIMs supported by Sim Scan?
What are other softwares that can be used to extract the IMSI and KI?

On my 450KII AMD - Win98 SimScan 1.33 doesn´t work, but when I connect my Phoenix to my Laptop, a 450PII it works almost perfekt. Only problem is that i get som com-errors every 30min. Then i just loads the tempfile an restarts.
So it looks like SimScan doesn´t run on AMD-proccessors ?

I'm not sure about that. Well at least about old AMD CPUs.
I have one computer reserved only for reading Ki from cards and similar things.
It is an old AMD K5-90 on Intel VX chipset based motherboard with Win 95 OSR2 and of course Sim_Scan works perfectly there.
My suggestion here would be a clean install of operating system!?

Anyway, another thing. As I've said in my earlier post, I was able to successfully extract the IMSI and KI from an OLD SIM card (a 16K SIM which I had for more than a year already) but when I tried using a 64K SIM, it wouldn't work... I keep getting those errors I posted.
Again, any other software that I could use with SIM Master to extract the KI?
if simscan doesnt work then dont know what can help you . you just have to wait for a newer versions come out .

its Normal.
I have more problems with CorelDraw and Cyrix, AMD Processors.
I change to Intel and no more problems.
If you are not afraid of destroying your sim then you might want to try cardinal68. I have extracted many keys with it without destroying any card (even 2002 cards).
Working with AMD as well as INTEL.
By the way AMD is by far better than INTEL but most program-compilers are not well written, neither is windows, etc etc

Hi.... or u can try to boot up in failsafe press F8 or F5 can`t remember... when ur´s pc starts up...
Please... do not advise people to use Cardinal...
For instance... In my country it destroys SIMs from all operators...
Maybe in yours they still use unprotected SIMs but in most places all new SIMs are issued protected against "brute KI extraction" (not to mention some COMP128v2)
It's better to try and fix the simscan problem. It also didn't work on my computer (and it's a PIII) and ater some tries now it works....

mine already runs 30 hours respite and still nothing has found today I have tried with bruteforce function.

First I had some problems with simscam v133, as it did not create the par2.bin.
Then I used 1.21, which works OK.
But now simscan is running a while now and all I see are the Ki counting (red digits). Is this what you are seeing?
I think it is BF for the Ki, but I swear I seen all digits already (1, 2, 9 & 10 th byte are running from 00 till FF, then it starts again). Should this be?
Sorry if I sound stupid, but just started with this :) .
Something else: Does anyone tried simme with a MASTERA already?

Try this:
boot with a dos/win98 disk.
run a debugger like DEXDEBUG (look at dejan website).
press esc
run simscan using setup.
I use this method because under XP, simscan doesn't work.
NB. I have athlon 800 and 256MB ram

You are absolutely right. Cardinal68 is a dangerous software. It might destroy the simcard if it has a protection (limit).
In my country (Greece) I haven't seen the limit protection in any Simcard I have had. I tried over 10 SIM cards/ Different Providers, different years, etc etc.
The only protection I noticed in newer Sim cards was the fact that no KI could be calculated at all. But the cards were working even after many experiments with them.
Another fact is that we can easily have a broken SIM CARD replaced for about 6 EURO in Greece. You just shouldn't mention that you destroyed the card during cloning procedures. ;)
I will not recommend to anybody to use the CARDINAL software. At least not version 68. Maybe a future release will use the same technics like Dejan's Simscan.

Before i have used the cordenal68 but it takes many of time ,
win i try to use simscan it's not work it gives mesg " card dosnot send " or like this i spend many time to solve the problem and there is no solution .
at the end i format my computer and but Mellinum software ,
and naw work fine
the simscan is beter and it is simple to use .
