Lg Viewty KU990 possible to unlock and unbrand?

Hello,

In about a month i'm going to upgrade my contract and I would like to get the Lg Viewty.
I just have some questions about unlocking it and unbranding.
I know to unlock it is pretty easy, u just have to find the right people to do it.
Is it possible to unbrand it and get rid off the networks firmware on it?
and one final question....is it possible to unbrand it my myself or do i need to find those right people again?

b/c as i know only codes from provider unlocks this phone
