View Full Version : HUAWEI E220 Unlocking problem
Hi,im new to this game and am trying to unlock my HUAWEI E220 usb modem,all im getting when i use the KK mutii client ,is an error message"Looking for phone...
Error: Modem ports unavailable!":confused:
is there a problem with the software or is it just me,thanks in advance for any help given:confused:

go to device manager and look in modems if U have installed there huawei modem.
If it's installed then click on it twice and check how many tabs are there, if U have 3-4 tabs only then mean that modem port is wrong installed and U must unistall it and try to install again. If not works then try other usb port

KulanKendi,took a long time and messing about but got there in the end,also had to upgrade firmware for it to unlock,great service!!:)thank you.
one other question how would i get modem to work on other networks would i need to get software for what ever company sim i use or is there a universal software i can use to connect to internet,thanks

every operator have own software, is available to download on their pages.
search for vodafone A1, T-Mobile,blueconnect,Iplus etc
They also offer firmware update(application part what store communication sw in modem and main firmware)

Hi,Thanks for your reply,im in the UK,have a vodaphone modem ,have trided a tmobile sim in it but wont let me connect to internet,what settings would i need to change?:confused:

A quick Google shows settings for T-Mobile should be
Access point: general.t-mobile.uk
User name: user
Password: one2one
Normally under Settings-Network Connection Settings
Name it TMobile
Number will be *99#
Username and Pass as above
then under apn and additional settings, say static apn and type in general.t-mobile.uk and save
Make sure you select the new one when dialing with that sim card
Should work fine
