i have searched the forum and to be honest im even more confused now!!!
please can someone tell me what software will unlock this world model. its a customers fone so i need to be 100% sure it will work. looking through old posts it seems more people manage to break this phone than unlock it.
all help would be gratefully received thanks;)
If i Recall Correctly the T28 world is a Dual band fone but not in the normal sense of the word.
The WORLD version is GSM 900 and 1900 (USA).
It is NOT gsm 1800 and therefore it will not work on Orange/121/tmobile/Virgin etc whether it is locked or unlocked. Sim card will go in and say Welcome to orange (start up) but it will not find network as it does not have the necessary electronics to work at that particular frequency (1800mhz).
Most are unlocked out of the box but if it still requires to be unlocked use Zulea's ATR v5.3.

i knew about the dual band on 900 and 1900 and also that most are unlocked from new but this one is definately locked. a few people i know said to use atr5.3 but i have read a lot of posts from people saying atr5.3 killed their world T28 also.
im looking for a 100% guaranteed solution mate, so please if people can post here what they have used and what the outcome was (dead or alive!!!) then i would be very grateful.
Safe software to unlock..... Doesn't exists. I've unlocked some T28 until now and only a few was dead but not from the ATR. The cable or the connections where bad. This is the problem. If you plan to unlock, make EEPROM and FLASH backup. Even the phone is dead, you can relive with backup. So... good luck!;)
i've used sara's flasher with the correct t28world bin file...never had any problems.
also have correct stuff for phone lock code

ok guys here what i have been told from a reliable bloke on another forum,
using atr5.3 you need to select the R320 option and then just unlock as normal.

i understand what you mean about nothing is 100% safe but i think you know what i meant, if ppl use a certain software all the time and dont have any trouble then that is what im looking for:D :D
Then use ATR 5.3 of Zulea! I'm using all the time and now, no dead phones. Clean connectors to be sure. That's all!;)
when using atr5.3 are you choosing T28 or R320 please:confused:
If you plan to unlock T28, if you select T28 option is not working. You must select R310. Works 100%

zulea ATR 5.3... very reliable
After I flashed my T28w with a flash file, now it wouldn't accept any sim card.... I tried using ATR5.0 to unlock, doesn't work...
I check >*<<*<* SIMlocks, all locks are closed and counters are set to 0....... how do you fix this problem?
I flashed my phone with Varanius0.11.

You must use ATR 5.3 by zulea. Look to my group and download.
1) Do you have T28w or T28s flash file? I think is a SBN file. If so, if you have T28w flash please send it to me.
2) Do you have original eeprom? Not necesarly but in case that the eeprom is coorupt, u need to upload again.
Select R310 option on ATR and select Repair Phone. Enter the IMEI number and proced. After that It will say to close your phone and flash again with SBN flash sile. WARNING! Is important to make all operations without SIM CARD inserted! After that disonnect phone and insert SIM. Maybe will say Insert correct SIM CARD. If so, with simcard inserted, select Unlock option and unlock phone. Now it must accept the SIM. If not the you must flash your eeprom (original one if you have....) and make all procedures again. 100% working. Tested by me on T28s.

T28 is allmost like R310 phone. Same software. The ATR dosen't recognize corectly T28 so YOU MUST SELECT R310 option to work NOT R320. R320 phone is different. It has WAP, callendar, etc. R310 is T28 without flip so works with R310 option. 100% tested!;)

I tried ATR5.3 by zulea, doesn't open up the locks....
I have tried uploading back the original eeprom.. doesn't work.
I'm sure the file is T28w, cuz it is 900/1900. I don't know if it's a SBN file or not... I got it from http://www.beam.to/returburk .... please advice!
