i think it's not to good when we using metal on the bottom of ic, because it will absorb the heat of ic, and make the process longer.
before the soldering paste melted, the ic can be damage cause suffering from heat.
use something else that will not absorb the heat(eg: ebonit or carbon --> material like ic uem) for the pad so the process is faster and the ic will not suffer from heat.

First of all material that i use is all alluminum alloy that can absorb heat like a heat sink and second i remove the metal mask before i'm ****ing hot air.
