To perform a soft reset

• Use the stylus to press the RESET button found on the lower left side of your device. Your device restarts and displays the Today screen

Resetting Your Palm Centro™Smart Device

Soft Reset

Performing a soft reset is similar to restarting a computer. If your Centro device is not responding or you’re having trouble synchronizing with your computer, a soft reset may
help. All your information is retained when you perform a soft reset.

1. Remove the battery from your device, and then reinsert it.

Note: The reset begins when you insert the battery and ends when the
Date & Time Preferences screen appears.

2. Select Done.

Replacing the Battery

Your Centro device comes with a replaceable battery. Be sure to use a battery that is approved by Sprint and that is compatible with your device. Failure to use the proper
battery may result in personal injury or product damage, and it voids your device warranty.
1. Press Power/End to turn off the screen.
2. Gently press down on the Battery Door, and then slide the door downward to remove it from your device.
3. Place a finger in the notch next to the battery and lift the battery up at a 45-degree angle to remove it from the compartment.
4. Align the metal contacts on the new battery with the contacts inside the battery compartment.

5. Insert the new battery into the compartment at a 45-degree angle, pressing it into place. Slide the battery door onto the back of the device until it clicks into place.
6. Connect your device to the charger or sync cable.
7. Wait for your device to turn on, and then enable the network time or set the date and time when prompted.

System Reset

A system reset, also called a safe or warm reset, can be useful if your device loops or freezes during a soft reset. Performing a system reset allows you to get out of the loop and restores limited functionality to your device in order to uninstall a third-party application that’s causing the problem. Note that after a system reset, you must perform a soft reset to restore full functionality, including the wireless features, to your device.

1. Remove the battery from your device.
2. Press and hold Up on the 5-way while reinserting the battery.
3. When Date & Time Preferences appears, release Up
4. Delete the third-party application that you suspect is causing the problem.
5. Perform a soft reset. (The wireless features of your device are not available until you complete this step.)

Hard Reset

A hard reset erases all information and third-party software on your Centro device. Never perform a hard reset without first trying a soft reset and a system reset. You can restore previously synchronized information the next time you synchronize.

A hard reset can tell you if a problem stems from your Centro device or from an application installed on it. If you do not experience the problem after you perform a hard reset, the problem is related to software you installed.

Important: If you set a password on your device, performing a hard reset reformats your device (the message “Reformatting in progress” is displayed). This is a more severe form of a hard reset, which removes all your information and restores your formats, preferences, and other settings to the factory default settings.

Note: Some third-party applications do not create a backup on your computer when you synchronize. If you perform a hard reset, you may lose data in these applications and you need to reinstall these applications after the hard reset. Please contact the developer to find out which information is backed up during synchronization.

1. Switch phone off
2. Take out battery and re-insert it

4. Phone will start and loading picture will appear on screen
5. Phone will restart again

Thanks first for all posts !
Now I have BIG problem !
Folowing instruction , and all go fine, just ONE PART NO ! Now on my HTC HERMES 200 I have just screen with 3 color. Write "IPL-1.01" , "SPL-1.40.01" ! and when plug USB write USB down. When inplug write SERIAL !
And never conected with Microsoft Activsync. I try change setting in options File in Actsync (select, unselect USB, unselect, select com port, unistall, restart computer, again instal Acivsync, try everithing) and newer conected.

Because, when start program "HTC HERMECS SIM CID UNLOCK v3a" and when give me line with "%" then never go even 1% !!!

Error , and all again, because no conected !

ANY HELP ! ADVICE !! PLEASE ...

3) Turn the phone on (dont let go of the soft keys.

5) A black screen should come up with white text stating to press 0 to reset device. Any other key to exit.

Today i reset user code i616 i formate this phon whit i607 pick pressing navigater key and then making the power buton
and now my phon is working very well thanx ::.::ramjan::.::

1. Turn the device off.
2. Press and hold the "E" and "Z" keys.
3. Press the Power button once.
4. When screen comes on, let go of "E" and "Z"
5. Press Power button once again.
6. Message that the phone has been reset.

1) Turn Phone Off.
2) Press and hold the two soft Keys at the same time.
3) Turn the phone on (dont let go of the soft keys.
4) When the screen turns on, immediately release the soft keys.
5) A black screen should come up with white text stating to press 0 to reset device...any other key to exit.

The key to the hard reset using the softkeys is to only press the end/power button for a short time. Then a black screen will come up. Press 0 and the phone will do a hard reset.

Remember, start by pressing the two softkeys and then press the end/power button for a short time.

try to plug your phone to charger and try again, if your battry is lowit can happen like that.

another way to remove it is use ustpro2 if you have. type the original imei and try to rebuild when the phone restart all password and if is gone.try and post result

Make sure battery is minimum 25% charged

1. Switch phone off
2. Take out battery and re-insert it
3. Hold the letter r and power on button
4. Phone will start and loading picture will appear on screen
5. Phone will restart again
6. Now let go of the r and power button

This will remove privacy lock and reset to original factory settings

How to hard reset htc hero A6262.Urgent please.

1/ Switch off the phone (either removing the battery or shutting down by holding the "end call" button for few seconds
2/ While being switched off, hold the "home" (house) and "back" (the arrow in the lower right corner)
3/ Hit briefly the "end call" button" while still holding the "home" and "back" buttons.
4/ Release the "home" and "back" button, a white screen containing technical information should appear, with a red message asking for hitting the "menu" button.
5/ Hit the "menu button", the Hero will now boot with factory settings.

Factory settings means that every information stored on the ROM (NOT your SD memory card) will be cleared (for me it was just the address book which was instantly updated thanks to my Google account).
