View Full Version : FlashBOX for Win9x

This program has been tested on Nokia 3210, 5110 and 6210. Please see the FLASHBOX.CFG on how to configure for the other models.
This program is in demonstration mode and can only read and write flash to the first 64kb of the phone's flash (00200000-00210000) and is intended for beta testing only.
When using the write flash feature, be sure that the size of flash to write is exactly 64kb (65,536 bytes) or else a 'Contact Service' error will be displayed.
Revive the phone by reflashing it with the backup.
If you have no experience in flashing/reflashing the phone then do not continue. You are the only one responsible if anything goes wrong. You have been warned.
I haven't tested this on Windows ME or Windows 2000. Or on AMD computers or laptops (no available computer to test on).
If you found any bugs, suggestions, comments, please send them to flazhbox@yahoo.com.
Help me out in configuring for other phone models (read the FLASHBOX.CFG on how to set the boot/flash loaders for the specific phone model.)

Anybody tested it on an AMD computer or maybe a laptop?
Cheers to all.

Okey, as posted above, program runs on Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME and Windows 2000. Then on some AMD computers and a Toshiba laptop.
Currently developing interface for use with Windows NT. What other platforms that uses the NTFS?
Definitely won't run on a Mac, different architecture
Can anybody post here what boot loaders and flash loaders used in reading and writing for a specific Flash ID?
Example:
7110, FlashID: 00898890
Boot loader
read:BOOT.BIN, write:BOOT.BIN
Flash loader
read:F_LOADER.BIN, write:F_LOADER.BIN
6210, FlashID: 00898896
Boot loader
read:BOOT.BIN, write:BOOT.BIN
Flash loader
read:F_LOADER.BIN, write:INTEL_16.BIN
About to develop a fully automated partial unlocking soft for use on various computers and platforms.
Suggested features:
1.Detection of phone version from dead phone (due to bad flashing).
2.Upgradedable partial unlocking data file for various models and versions.
3.Repair dead phones and no-signals by rewriting the flash (EEPROM data excluded).
4.Repair contact service due to changed values in MCU/PPM.
5.Extraction of MCU and PPM data into separate files.
6.Alert tone changing for some models.
What it can't definitely do:
1. It can't/won't change IMEI values.
2. In can't upgrade PPM/MCU versions (since it uses only the Flasher 1.00 box)
3. It can't repair bad-locked phones (locked with EEEE FFFF EEEE FFFF)
Maybe in the near future, FlashBOX for Flasher 1.02 box (although we have no available Flasher 1.02 box).
Best regards to all...

Well, it asks a filename on where you want to put the flash that you read from the phone. You either supply a new filename or use an existing file to write the flash from the phone into that file.
While in writing file to flash, you must specify an existing file.
"Error:Write Flash" is encountered while the program is checking the status of each byte received from the phone during the write flash to phone operation.
It could be that AMD Duron 600 is fast enough that the program can't correctly read the status from the phone. Adjust the value in "TIME" (Flashbox.cfg) like to something like 500.
Tnahx for ansver! I evenig at home try again read phone.
I want ask you maybe you know why on AMD CPU after reading phone the file flash out is clear inside Dedjan Flasher. I try all boot loders, flash loader files. And nothing. Maybe this problem in CPU structure?
Hi Ice,
Everything you do is briliant !
The idea about the new project is also great.
But just a advice - make sure that don't go for free.
Lately we found out that all soft which goes for free here and we actually thought we help people is sold by clever traders ?!!?
So actually everyone is crying - MUST BE FOR FREE, and the end only the author works for free.
Funny isn't it?
Example all free soft is sold here in Birmingham to local mobile phone shop owners for 200-300 pounds, a piece !
Anyway it's your choice, but if you do so (release for free) I'll send you few telephone numbers which you can call to check how much your hard work is sold for !
Best Regards, Alex

FlashBOX SDK available soon!
The FlashBOX Software Development Kit (SDK) is a tool for developing software applications for Dejan Flasher 1.00b interface with the PC.
The SDK includes a Dynamic Link-Library that runs on Windows 95/98/ME and a source code in Visual Basic 5 for the FlashBOX GUI.
Flasher interface is not included.
Price range is between US$350 to US$450.
Special discounts for Filipinos currently residing in the Philippines.
P.S. This is for use with the Dejan Flasher 1.00 interface to be able to be used in full-Windows, non-DOS shelling program, for Windows 9x/ME and soon in Windows 2000 and NT.
Develop Jethro-like interface for a fully automated unlocking using the above platforms and in AMD computers and laptops (not guaranteed to work in all computers but at least we have room for improving the interface for various computers and models).
Or maybe develop programs like NFREE, and who knows one might come up with a program that can successfuly upgrade the phones MCU/PPM.
We don't know and cannot gauge the intelligence of GSM developers as to what level they could take this simple SDK to.
