I have been trying to use paint remover, but it took too long to do something, and only worked on a very thin layer of this glue. On a thick layer, the paint remover will just not do anything.
Which chemical do you use for it?
Home made solutions are welcome! ;)

Please, specify temperature, cycles if needed, and method to pickup the glue without damaging phone components or pcb.
Images or a video would be very very appreciated!

Today, I tried remove glue from IC (W200). I used preheater (200C) + heat gun with nozlle (200 - 220C) + dental tool. First, I disassemled all parts, which should be damaged hot air (camera, joystick cap, connector, sticker etc.), then I heated side IC, where is TP, after 30-50 seconds, glue was smashing, and I used dental tool to remove glue. I touched with dental tool smashed glue, a litle press to glue, and glue moved itself.
This working just a thin layer (ply) glue.
Later,I tried remove glue on W300.There was thicker ply glue, I damaged board.

you can used small thick needle bro.. on that testpoint area.... or use remover stripsoll ...

Use soldering iron and very very gently rub the glue off when the heat makes it soft. You have to be very careful but after a few tries it only takes about 20 seconds to do each one.

for make w200 tp you dont have to remove tha glu simply insert a needle and meke tp,
To remove glue with hot air is stupid. Do not tell people that.
Even advance technician will some time make mistake and after this will have dead phone.
With less temperature will not do anything with glue, and with high temp. will destroy phone.
Liquid is better solution.
Yes mister expert you joined gsm hosting not in february 2006 and for sure you are expert and you can judge people and name them stupid. If did not learn how to use hot air from almost 2 years you should start selling socks or something.
There is 3 options of removing glue :
First that mr expert advised insulting people, magical liquid BUY ME i melt liquid, but in my opinion its bull**** none of them working propely and its taking too much time to remove glue and you still have to scratch it.
Second stupid people method YES THATS ME with hot air, infrared or any other source of heat (apart from soldering iron it can be done but you have to do it very gently) i prefer this method bacause its quicker, i am using around 230 C and removing stripe of the glue with injection needle.
THE THIRD METHOD it was TOP SECRET of TOP GSM EXPERTS METHOD :
Its takng few hours but it still worth it :
GLUE REMOVING PRAY :

If you think about me and my post, I did not tell any body that they are stupid, just that hot air is not so clever solution for this. Specially if you are not familiar with hot air gun.
For your information, I work 10 years like Electronic Technician on all over the world on Oil Rigs, and I work on electronic equipments much more sophisticate than mobile phones.
I have now Computer Shop with service and servicing mobile phones are just additional.
Date who join when on this forum will not tell you nothing about knowledge of people.

Each technican has his own preference on repairing methods.
Personally I use the glue softener and dentil pick mentioned on other page, however I have used hot air in the past too remove resin too.
Each method works, however both ways can damage pcb if you are in=experienced, or go over the top. Maybe you should practice on dead PCB first so You get idea which is easier for you.

Good to see many ppl sharing their experience.
Well personally i use hot air gun around 200 temperature. just go over the tp's and scratch of theglue and it take around 5 mins per pc and i am sure its 100% safe as ur only using 200 temperature, make sure not over the oc., just over the glue go over it few secs and scratch off the glue.

Hi bro,
The liquid Adhesive remover that Applelinks has mentioned is the best solution that I have found so far. I'v been using it for 6 years or so now & it works very well. Its called BGA IC ADHESIVE REMOVING LIQUID & is manufactured by SHENGZHEN HUA SHENG ELECTRONICS CO. LTD.
Try it, it works :)

i unlocked about 30 phones so far
i used just the tp needle to scrach off the glue from the pins
it takes about 2 minutes to unlock a phone (including opening :D )
for this kind of glue i don't think there is the need to use hot air or diferent liquid
use a good microscope and the testpoint cable and that is it

hmmm you have unlocked till now -100 pcs more like me with this trick ;)
p.s. do not understud oder peoples with "air gun liquedes etc " :)
p.p.s. need to sleep .... let you catch me
I have modded a few honda ECU's that are covered in a "glue", always just used a carburetor cleaner to remove it . I just wanted to make sure that others were using the same kind of solvents on there phone boards. Sounds like you are.
I personally (in theory) like the solvent method, but heat may work too (thats how the chip got there in the first place - but that may also have the reversal effect).
Im still kickin around the idea of getting a DB SE just to play with, but I still have yet to see a video of some one doing the whole operation on a video (I know a video sounds noob - but I would like to see it done).
@ 2xu -- your kidding right? we were all discussing the options. No need to be so obtrusive. Someones "join" date has nothing to do with there knowledge of anything. -- Ill tell you what does make some one look like an *** tho.... Wrong amount of hot air could in fact lead to a dead phone.

for me HOT air still the best, fastest, tested solution until this day..
hehehehe...
with temperature 250-300 just need less than 30sec to remove that little weak glue..
for all who has his own preference on repairing methods.
like using liquid or gel or scratch with TP needle and good microscope..
just do what u feel is workin and best method...
no pushing here, we here for sharing not pushing each other...
