I manage to get the base map and it's working now, but i cant seem to search using address or postcode or anything.. wat's misisng? hmm.. i click where to? then i'm prompted to input State which after i input and show nothing.. please help..
Go to Malsingmaps.com The maps for January 2008 is free. The rest will require you contribute 2 points of interest to get an unlock key - the local shops will do.

Tried this with BluMobiles maps, works great! Only thing is it doesn't go silent when you put the phone in silent, but that's minor. Does everybody get that warning screen about not driving and using it at the same time when loading?

If you install map correctly without an unlock file, ie as a gmapsupp.img or sent to your phone with mapsource, when you start Mobile XT, it will give an error about maps needing unlocking code etc.
If you have a properly calculated unlock code in a .unl file, then that error will not appear. You should be able to then search an address in Europe or map your location if you start up Mobile XT and get a GPS lock of your position in Europe.
The same map works on Symbian, Windows Mobile, and Garmin PNA devices.

i installed the europ map as it is , as mapsupp.img, and i calculated de unlock code with Garmin Unlock Generator v1.5, by jet mouse, and the map doen't apeares anywere.
i'm going to put the map without mapssup.unl, just to see if it apears even giving me the error.

I installed 4.10.80 on my N82 and on my friend's n95-3. It recognizes the internal GPS and everything seems to be working fine except for one thing. I downloaded the Garmin XT CIty Navigator North America NT 2009 files from another thread here. These maps are already unlocked and there supposedly is no need for the GMAPSUPP.UNL file. I copied the maps to the Garmin folder on the memory card but when I go to use the Garmin XT program and click on "View Map", it displays "no map" on the bottom right and the screen is blank. I also tried using Map ID code 325 in keygen to generate a map unlock code to enter in the GMAPSUPP.UNL file but still not working. Any ideas? I'd greatly appreciate the help! Thanks

I've run through the following procedure:
This process has been tested to be fully working on a Nokia N82 with rmware v20.0.062.
Check that you have the following les:
GarminMobileXTforSymbianS60 41080.zip
Support les.zip
Keygen.zip
UK map.rar 1
World map.zip
UK speed cameras.rar
Either connect your phone in `data transfer' mode or remove your phone's memory card and attach it
to your computer via a memory card reader. Your aim is to make your memory card accessible as a
removable storage device.
Extract the le GarminMobileXTforSymbianS60 41080.zip and run `Setup.exe'2. Choose your memory
card as the device to install to and press `Install'.
Once the setup process has nished extract the le Support les.zip and copy over the folders `Help'
and `voice' into the folder `Garmin' on your memory card. For example, if your memory card is the
E drive on your system then copy the `Help' folder to E:nGarmin and the the `voice' folder to E:nGarmin.
Disconnect your phone (or plug your memory card back into your phone) and the Garmin program
`should' (didn't for me!) try and install itself. If nothing happens then simply browse to `(Memory
Card):nGarminnAppsnSymbiannRES' on your phone and manually install `GarminMobileXT.sis'.
Once Garmin Mobile XT has been installed on your phone, run it. Con gure things like voice and
trac updates and cancel the search for GPS device and then go to `Settings' and then to `About' and
make a note of the number given after `Card Id'. Extract and run the keygen, on your computer, and
enter the number you just noted, in the eld which asks for Card ID, and click the rst Generate button.
Save the number it generates in a text le called `SW.UNL' (without the quotes). NOTE: The le
name is SW.UNL NOT SW.UNL.txt. In the drop down box select `City Navigator Europe NT v9' and
click the second Generate button. Save the number it generates in a text le called `GMAPSUPP.UNL'.
Again make sure this doesn't have .txt at the end.
Extract the les `UK map.rar', `World map.zip' and `UK speed cameras.rar'. Reconnect your phone to
your computer (or remove your memory card from your phone and insert it into your computer) and
copy over the les SW.UNL, GMAPSUPP.UNL, gmapsupp.img and gmapbmap.img into the Garmin
folder of your memory card. Also copy the folder POI into the Garmin folder of your memory card
(overwrite the existing folder).
Finally remove your phone (or reinsert memory card into phone) and start Garmin Mobile XT. Go
to Settings then System then Remote GPS and change the option to `Use Attached/Built-in GPS',
click `Enable' and then Done.
You should now have a fully working installation of Garmin Mobile XT with a UK map, along with
speed camera locations, which works perfectly with built-in GPS receivers of phones such as the Nokia
N82.
I am tring to get this going on an N95. After I copy the unl files and map files over to the card and ut it back in the phone and launch the app I see the Garmin splash screen for a few seconds. The phone then returns to the Applications folder where I launch Garmin from.
I have tried removing the unl and map files from the card and running again and I get into the app to view the card number. Am I doing something wrong with Keygen?

I have the same problem . I uploaded Romania's map and I cannot select it .
It shows "no map" . The map is unlocked .
The program must be paired with a GPS receiver so i can select a map ?

I since here, i have all working 100% with city navigator europe 2008 maps, perfect.
My problem is when i try to upload this map and city navigator north america 2009 at the same time using MapSource.
I have both maps unlocked at the pc, i select the parts that i want, generate a very big file (2449.9 MB) and send with this progam to phone.
Then when i start garmin at the phone i dont have any detail map there, look at garmin directory in the phone and have the file GMAPSUPP.IMG there ...
Any help is wellcome

This summer i plan to drive from Los Angeles to Cancun ... and i would like to have this maps in my phone ... as well i would like to keep my European maps ont it ...
For what i read i should be able to do this with MapSource ... in this program i can choose the maps i want and send them to phone ... till here everything ok, the problem is when i start garmin in the phone ... i cant see any detail map ...
The garmin in the phone dont even ask me for unloock the maps ... i dont know why this happend ... is this because the file is to big (ą 2.500 MB) ?

Just type each set of unlock codes in Mapsource under menu item to unlock map. ie Select unlock map, type one set of codes, and then select it again and enter the second set. This will unlock the maps for your device.
Alternatively, just paste the two strings in your gmapsupp.unl file.

so i downloaded the repack with all the files needed to get this installed on my n95 8gb (canada version)
everything installs fine...
i run the application on the phone to get the unit id # in the about section and it says Unit Id: <connect to gps>
how can i update the sw.unl file if i can't get a unit id to generate the proper code?
i need the sw.unl for it to see the internal gps but i can't get the unid id for the sw.unl file because it can't connect to the gps...
have i missed something...
it wants to find a paired blue tooth device...

I don't know what's wrong with this app. I installed the older version(from the links provided here(somewhere) and it worked like a charm...gonna stick with that one for now. Does all Garmin XTs come with an option to try out for 30 days, and does Garmin always sms the unlock code to your mobile device for said trial?

If you are getting partial unlock, then the map could be a compilation of several maps. You'll need to enter all the unlock codes for each map as a series of strings in your gmapsupp.unl or enter the codes via mapsource. If you have areas unlocked, then the maps will work when you are in the area, but you will also getting a prompt at the start of Garmin to unlock those areas that remains locked.
Forgot to mention, you can also insert the unlock codes directly into the .img files using gmaptool

i have it working fine with the basemaps. I then Dl the australia street navigator installed it on my pc and unlocked it. I then transferred it to my N95 8GB and it wont unlock. I am using the Jetmouse Key Gen. I have tried multiple codes and it wont recognize them.
Any ideas?
Just seen the maps are V6.13.4 keygen is for V7 so maybe thats the problem
I fixed it. I found Jetmouse Keygen v1.5 (had V1.1) and unlocked the maps in Mapsource then transferred to phone.

I know a number of people on here have had trouble getting it to work on N95 8GB. It stops and you can't change the GPS source. I found that although I had renamed the SW file and GMAPSUPP files to .unl on my pc when I check on my handset they were shown as SW.UNL.TXT and similarly with the GMAPSUPP files. Therefore, you still need to go to file manager on your handset and alter the file extension so that it is just .unl

i am not sure what you meant but i think there is no need for you to transfer the map by opening it... just copy your map " .img" (usually 'gmapprom.img') to "garmin" folder in your memory card.
hmm however i have a problem, i have garmin xt installed perfectly... then i tried to unlock the map img file and transfer it to garmin folder. It initially doesnt work at all when i try to view the map. when i try it was black totally and has a word "no map" at the bottom right corner.
But however, after trying a few things the map is working again... i wonder is that normal?
then i figure out that i should download and install the voice direction, then it all went wrong.. after installing the security update from garmin, i cant fire up my garmin anymore...whenever i try to open garmin it will show an error "unable to execute file due to security reason"
any idea what went wrong?? please help...
mine appears to work with uk map, but same thing no map comes up but hopefully that is just because I have no signal, I can search for places so map must be working. So I think what your saying is in fact normal
Basically I now understand that mapsource requires map of a different format. But the version of maps I have for europe has loads of .img files, so how would I get them working on my device?

Program does not contain any maps. You'll need to install the maps, and also unlock the maps to use it.
Make sure you also have a basemap installed.

this problem is when you have changed your memory card / unit id has changed....!
the easy way to resolve this is to:
1, backup phone memory via memory function
2, perform a full factory reset via the code *#7370#
3, restore the phone memory backup via memory function
4, calc new keys for maps and software via keygen software
5, all done:cool: ....run the app and have fun...!

I'm confused, cos for Samsung UK map's size is 266MB, but link above is 130MB. I asked there, but got no answer yet. Garmin.com says that Garmin maps the same, but 266MB twice more than 130MB! And all of them new maps!

I think that the extra stuff (voice files, application etc) is what makes up the difference between the 2 files. I can confirm it later on, as I have get my mobile drive out for something else.
Will let you know the outcome.

OK, I had a look at the mapset in question (UK & Ireland). The Samsung one, when extracted, is 333MB in size and the breakdown is:-
gmapsupp.img file is 194MB
additional s/w (voice etc) is 139MB
The map size is obviously bigger than the 130MB one you refer to. Could be due to more detail. That side I have not thoroughly investigated. The fact that it's from Garmin, tells me that it should be relatively accurate and up to date. I take it you may be able to test this and verify it. I have loaded it on my Nokia E90 and it worked without a hitch (in that it loaded, but I couldn't test the functionality with the routing, because I'm stuck in ZA and will never see the streets of London). If you need help to load it, let me know.

Hi. I have Garmin working on N95 with the europe city navigator v9. The UK maps work fine but I don't have maps quite a few places in europe including spain. Can someone tell me how I can add these please and should they be part of City Navigator for Europe.
