SGH 600 Power can not on.

When i test between the (-) and (+) at the battery pin connector, it's shorted.

But when i use a D/C supply voltage regulator, it power ON, but consume alot of current (More than 0.5A).

Then Try to detached the PA (PF01411B) to see / confirm whether it's shorted, and the answer is no. PA is in good condition, eventhough without the PA, it still consume alot of current.

And now when i connect the D/C supply i found that there's a 8 leg IC at the back top center area (TEA1204) hot (shorted).

What is this IC for?
After removal of this (TEA1204) i found that the power consume is back to normal back (less than 0.2 A)

Please advice:confused:

Hello
TEA1204 is the DC-DC convertor , yours was burned by some abnormal voltage or curerent , just change it and the working phone will come back to you ;)

I noticed that asoon after i remove this TEA1204, i can u se this phone, without the IC, it works fine the only problem is i can't charge the phone. Not even I can see the signal bar either.

Bert
is it possible using the phone without the TEA1204 IC?
