*** This is still very much a work in progress ***

Here's a later version. Initial version taken off a HTC Diamond, and released only a couple of days ago.

First version (a .cab file) will not run on many devices apart from Diamond.

First crack will work on 6.75 maps if already installed on phone. Bug with font being oversized.

Second crack - listed below - will work with all WM devices, but not PNAs. Will only accept version 7 maps. Maps patch will still need to be performed.

Voice - All Tomtom 6 voices still work.

Working on HTC Touch Dual.

The files do not include voice. You can use Tomtom6 voices for it, and place all the files in a folder called voice on the root of your mmc

does anybody know how to enable mapshare? I tried installing tomtom home, but it won't even recognise my device (also not when I use a memory card reader) is there a spefiicif foldere structure required? or a volume name? of specific files?
Not yet. Tomtom7 for PDA is not supposed to be available. It was built into the ROM of selected HTC Diamond phones

Ok seems a good place to put this....

I have a tomtom 7 install that wont see the internal GPS unit on my Trinity but will use one of the other GPS antennas in the configure options and work poorly with a patched map file (this is the install with the large text).

i have another tomtom 7 install that will show the correct font size and will use the internal GPS unit settings fine get a good signal lock etc but wont use the patched map but will use the downloaded map fine!!

I must be missing something somewhere, anyone have any pointers for me?

First repack by rab (thank you!) had all the fonts for VGA resolution. Second repack fixed the font. Third repack allowed version 6 maps to be used (Version 6 Navteq maps needed a patch to work though)

With your maps, just double check that you have correctly unlocked the map for your device. Tested and have it working with v720 maps of USA, Australia, UK, France, and Italy. Also works with v710 map of NZ.

Copy the maps to the root directory of your phone - in your case the internal hard drive.

Hi all.

I can't activate my IBERIA map (720) with Tom Tom 7 cab from Diamond but I'm running it on my Kaiser(TyTN2).

I've done all the things (copying .dct) but it says activation code is wrong.. :confused:

What can I do?

Have you generated a new and correct .dct with your device ID? It is listed in a file ttnavigator.bif in the root of your MMC. Open and read it qwith notepad or any text editor.

It was Tom Tom 7 I downloaded (the rip from HTC Diamond) wasn't working.. downloaded the repack that was on this site and voila :D

I just got myself a touch diamond and managed to install tomtom7 via the link in the first post, shared by digitalextremes.

I downloaded a Singapore map online, but i am unable to put it to work - i spent an hour searching through this forum but i couldnt find any solution...
Apologies in advance if this is a repetitive question.

Does anybody know if maps ver. 8 can be used with TomTom ver.7 for PDA (2nd repack) ? I tried with Italy 8.05 but, after creating the dct file, it is not recognized by TomTom....

i put *.cab voices files from tomtom6 to the MMC root folder "voice" try also "voices"
but when start program it says no voices are installed.try to reset device but still the same.

I have a new Diamond HTC with TT7 installed, version 7.450 (9030). I have a free map, downloaded from TT and works fine. Now I have downloaded, via FTD/Newsgroups, some maps. Benelux_720.1802 and WesternEurope_v720.1803. I have created this .meta.dct with my devicecode and this worked fine. Copied them in the maps folders and copied these files to the root of my HTC(also tried the My Documents where the free map was located as well. But with both of the maps I get an error that the activationcode is incorrect. In all the other methods I found on the net, they were talking about the ttsystem file, but I don't have this anywhere on my HTC. What am I missing?

I've got TT7 working on a cronky old HTC Himalaya (an XDA II) and it picks up the France map I've got in the root of my SD card but it doesn't pick up the UK or Benelux maps that are also in the root of my SD. For info, I've also installed the TT7 software on the SD card.

Is there a better folder structure? Is there a better naming convention?

At the root of the SD card I have:

United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ireland_720_1802/
France_720_1802/
Benelux_715_1689/

then...

Program Files/
Program Files/Navigator/
Program Files/Navigator/contacts
Program Files/Navigator/itn/

Oh yeah, I've got no voices neither. I've tried putting the voice folder at the root of the SD, named voices and voice. I've also tried it as /windows/voices on the main storage of the HTC, and under TomTom. Any more suggestions?

OK, I got it working. The problem was the preinstalled TT7 on the Diamond. I have removed it, installed a downloaded one, cracked the cards and there it was. I also had no voices but someone gave me the tip to put the Voices folder in the same directory as where the map-directories are. So at the same level as the maps. Also try to rename the file BTCOREIF.DLL in the Windows directory and do a softreset. It seems TomTom has overwritten this file with an old version and this may cause no voices.

Now it works great and I am o so happy.

<sheepish grin> seems I didn't know how TT actually works and you have to change maps manually, it doesn't 'see' all the maps automatically, you've got to switch to move between them. Looks like it's time for a 2Gb SD card and the Western Europe map - how else would you plan a route from UK via Belgium to France without it?!

Anyone have this version as a cracked file for use on PPC devices? The original cracked file (Repack 3) is version 9028 and does not allow access to TTHome and is not supported by TT. Thanks.

Whole Western Europe will slow the Navigator down badly.
Each countries map should have the major roads for Western Europe in it.
Search for maps for France and Benelux seperately if you want better performance.

Guys, I need help in getting tomtom 7 on my htc diamond, i've followed the walkthroughs to do with how to get my tomtom id, thats sweet. but it's this bloody meta file, I can't seem to locate it with RunMeforAllAutomatic or RunMeforDCT, which I understand is meant to locate the meta file. I think i'm at the last hurdle to get tomtom 7 to see TTN_7.450.9028 which I hope is the maps for GB which I got from here.

Any help would be greatly appreciate so I don't have to go into my second night of 3 hrs sleep:(

you need to have meta.text info about your map also beside Map. (Google it)

It will look like above, need to have it save in your meta.text and make sure you have the same Map country and Map ID,
then you can generate *.DCT file for your map properly..

Now you can use RunMeforDCT and generate file for your map.

you need 3 things to make a map working in your Diamond.
*.pna file from the map
*.meta file from the map
and meta.text which have to be match with your map id and version.
then use RunMeforDCT to get a *DCT file which will shown up in the same folder you put those pna and meta.
copy *DCT and put in the map folder and put that map folder in the root of memory card. F:\Noth_America etc..
Should be working Now. Try it first.

TT7 does have TTS - they are included as part of the selected maps (ie the 720.1803 series). However, it does not work on PPC but is active on PNAs.

If you copy the original .cab to the SD card, and run it from there, it will install it on the SD card.

When I put the below files into the keygen folder insert_meta_from_Map_here and run the RunMeforDCT.bat file I get the below error.

For WM running Tomtom7, each map need to be placed in a folder in the root of the SD card. Tomtom will find it when you run it.

Now, each map comes with a file ending with .meta

There needs to be a corresponding .meta.dct file in the folder to unlock the map.

This .meta.dct file is generated by tt7keygen. It needs both the .meta file and the corresponding string of codes in a file named meta.txt to generate the .meta.dct file.

When you download a map, and there is often a series of meta string to it, copy this string of text and add it to your meta.txt file, keeping it up to date.

Keep the tt7_keygen.exe, meta.txt (that you update) in a folder, and whenever you want to unlock a map, copy the .meta to this folder.

Open a DOS window.
'CD' to the folder where you keep you keygen.
Type tt7_keygen . <DEVICEID> Where <DEVICEID> is your device's ID - a string of 10 digits.

As long as there is only one .meta file in the folder, it will be selected and used. If there is more than one, then the first will be used.

A corresponding .meta.dct will be generated.

Copy the .meta.dct to the map folder on your device/phone, and the map is unlocked.

Delete both .meta and .meta.dct from your keygen folder, and it is ready for the next map.

No. Logic will tell you you'll need Tomtom NavCore 8 to use Version 8 maps.

Each Tomtom map need to be stored in their own folders in the root of the SD card. It can be named anything you want. Tomtom will search for it on execution. You can then select the map from within Tomtom.

If memory permit, you can have multiple countries' maps - each in its own folder - and select the one you need.

I hope this is a good place to ask for some help. I think I've read every forum in existence...

I downloaded and installed the .cab file from here (http://www.modaco.com/content/diamond-diamond-modaco-com/269493/tomtom-navigator-7-for-htc-diamond/)
I was also able to download one map of a limited local area with this installation. It was only when I started to try to download and install other maps the problem stated. I downloaded United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ireland-14 and first tried the cmd install method, which I could not get to work. I then downloaded Easyuse Tools and had some success with RunMeforDct. A new .dct file was created and I pasted this back into the map folder on my device. However when I try Switch Maps, although the UK map is there on the list I still get an Activation Code failed message.
My question now is, should I uninstall TomTom and try a different .cab file?
Or should I try to patch the existing TomTom with the system patcher?

If you are getting activation fail code, then it means you have not unlocked the map correctly. This could be due to several problems:
1) Incorrect Device ID entered in the keygen
2) Incorrect .dct generated due to wrong meta used.

The cmd is the most basic way of unlocking the codes, and will allow you to see all the errors etc that crop up.

There is no need to uninstall Tomtom

PLEASE people, i know it will maybe sound funny for you but it's a problem for me! I can't get my device ID. How should it look like? What should i do? I tryed opening, closing and looking at the file in my internal storage "ttnavigator" but i can't open it or do anything with it. I use HTC Diamond. Please....
The file ttnavigator.bif has a .bif extension on it. By default, WM will not show you an extension. As there's no default program for .bif extensions, clicking it will not do anything.

Open up notepad, and then use it to open this ttnavigator.bif file

Hi Guys,

Im Sarah From the Netherlands and lately i've purchased the t-mobile version of samsung Omnia witch has a integrated A-GPA chip gratefully. I've made some attempts to install TTN7 with BENELUX maps but i failed at the last step :suicide:. I'll try to explain what i did step by step and hope some one can help me make this TomTom "go"!

Instructions I followed:

1. I installed ttn7 by putting the cab file in Omnias 8gb internal memory and running it
2. I Copied the folders RASTER and VOICES to the “navigator” map created after the installation
3. I extracted and copied the folder of Benelux to the root of the memory
4. I searched for the device ID by reading the “ttnavigator.bif” file with note pad
5. I copied the Benelux-10.meta (from the map file), the meta code (pasted in a meta.txt file) and tt7_keygen.exe to my D:\TTN7
6. Opened the command prompt on my pc and navigated to this folder
7. I Executed the command: tt7_keygen.exe D:\TTN7 “my device coe”
8. I got the "OK" message and the new “Benelux-10.meta.dct” that came with it
9. I copied this new Benelux-10.meta.dct file along with the old Benelux-10.meta file back to the root of the memory

Results:

Finally I opened tomtom adjusted voice etc. till I couldn’t go on because of the message CANT FIND ANY MAPS appeared

I tried the same steps with an other map (TomTom7.Australia.v720.1838) just to be sure. Still I got the same message!

Is there anyone who experienced same issue? How can I solve this? I look forward to your answers!!

Hi guys

I finally got it working. i guess the onley prob was i didnt put the map on the root of my internalmemory. in stead i put it in the folder were ttn7 was installed on the device... how stupid!

But now i like to install cameras for benelux and car icons................. anyone knows how to do that?

first repack by rab (thank you!) had all the fonts for vga resolution. Second repack fixed the font. Third repack allowed version 6 maps to be used (version 6 navteq maps needed a patch to work though)

with your maps, just double check that you have correctly unlocked the map for your device. Tested and have it working with v720 maps of usa, australia, uk, france, and italy. Also works with v710 map of nz.

pls any link for these,my fonts are too big.

Are you sure you got the right version? There's a VGA version, with large font, and a qVGA with smaller fonts. The TyTN II has a qVGA screen.

OK, I got it working. The problem was the preinstalled TT7 on the Diamond. I have removed it, installed a downloaded one, cracked the cards and there it was. I also had no voices but someone gave me the tip to put the Voices folder in the same directory as where the map-directories are. So at the same level as the maps. Also try to rename the file BTCOREIF.DLL in the Windows directory and do a softreset. It seems TomTom has overwritten this file with an old version and this may cause no voices.

Now it works great and I am o so happy.

for the new version you have to take the easytool for 8.xx maps
and not the tool for 7.xx maps.

I have downloaded this map:

but I still cannot get it to run on TT7 910.9185 for the HTC.

I have used the latest keygen with the correct device ID and meta to create the DCT file but TomTom is still not detecting the map!!

Any ideas what else I need to do? Do I need to patch the ttsystem file? and if I do, how do I do it?

There are apparently different versions of the 8.15 maps which are compatible with different devices/software versions. What you have downloaded isn't compatible with TT7.910(9185) for Windows Mobile, you need version 8.15.2024.

I have the UK & Ireland & WE maps, both version 8.15.2024 and these work on my HTC Kaiser running TT 7.910(9185). Make sure you also get the latest UK Postcode file as well (version 8.01).

I am fairly new in tis area.

For the moment am running TT6 on an HTC Wizad (HTC 9100) WM5.
I managed to do that installation by the support from this emminent forum.
The software come anyhow from another source.

Wll the TT7 refered above in @ Kl@r@_KoRn post be the corect cab?

For information.
Anyone trying to install this onto an HTC touch HD, you need the first file for WM5/6. The HTC one doesn't work for the touch HD.

Hi y'all. First of all a mighty big thank you to all those who contribute! Where would we be without you guys (and gals?). As for me, I've got a bunch of old maps which I'll be happy to upload if anyone wants one. My question actually concerns these maps because I recently purchased an HTC Touch HD which uses WM6.1 and installed TT 7.910.9185 on it. Obviously I tried to get my old maps working but without the .meta they just don't get recognized. Is that correct? And if so, is there a way to get\create .meta files or am I forced to upgrade my maps (or downgrade my TT)? Wierd if so! Thanks again, Rick

This is a long shot.... but.....

I was previously running TT7 on the HTC Kaiser but switched to the HTC Touch HD a couple of days ago... I have managed to get the software up and running on the Touch HD (after downloading and installing the 1st cab rather than the HTC cab) but due to the longer screen on the HD the picture looks stretched.

I am just wondering if there is any way to either flip the screen (as with the Kaiser) or to compress the picture to make the graphics look better?

As I stated its a long shot but I thought it was worth asking!

I cannot get safety cameras to work with TT7.910.9185 and my UK and Ireland 8.15.2024 map... can anybody help? With previous versions all I did was copy the speed camera files into the map folder but this doesn't seem to be working anymore!!

Also, is there any reason why this latest version runs so slow on the HTC Touch HD?
Work fine for me. You do release that you have to set them back up again in you POI warnings? That's what happens when you have fancy new hardware! :) I do believe it works at good speed on Touch HD so can't help you there.

But still I don't seem to get Western_Europe_1GB-V815.2024 working. Running the Benelux 815.2024 on the same MicroSD card does seem to work.
I used the same DeviceID (which I verified multiple times) to crack both of 'm.

I tried like 2 versions of TT7: TT7_910.9185_SIGNED.htc_diamond_cracked.cab and a TTN_7.910.9185_Cracked.cab but no succes for Western Europe map.

Perhaps this still isn't the latest (repack 3) version of TT7? But where can I find repack 3 in case I'm not already using it?

Or maybe I need to try to download Western Europa 815.2024 again? (but unpacking the rar's went smoothly so that shouldn't be the problem)

Hi there,

first of all I'm very happy found this forum, giving me a first view into TT data structure.
Second I'm searching for a map of western europe. TT HP lists a v8.15 for Navigator 7 on my HTC Diamond. With about 1291.2 MB.
I received a version 815.2003 with lots of additional data eg:
- tts_7.900.9180
- meta file with infos frim v7.0 - v7.5 and v8.0 - v8.15, etc.

After trying to install it, TT7 doesn't work anymore. I fear, its for TT Go... :confused:
Sadly, all the links listed here are not available at RapidShare anymore.

Can anybody help me, best with a actual version of TT Nav7 and a map of western europe.
I'd be happy to help with anything else, but Navigator software...

I have Tom Tom Navigator v7.45 with USA and CAnada map v7.20.1802 working well on my Tilt. Does anyone know if there is a newer version of Navigator or maps that I should consider, ( of course that is known to work on the Tilt).

Read the various threads..... - The latest version of Navigator for Windows Mobile is 7.910(9185), officially this is only for HTC Touch Diamond & Touch Pro (and the various carrier badged equivalents). Fortunately the application has been hacked by various users to allow it to work and be installed on QVGA devices - the HTC Kaiser (AT&T Tilt) being one of them. The good thing about this release is it supports the latest 8.15 maps (NOT the 8.15.2003 versions but the 8.15.2023/2024/2034 versions without IQ routing and ALG).

I am currently running Navigator 7.910(9185) along with the UK & Ireland 8.15.2024 and Western & Central Europe 8.15.2034 maps.

Hi,

I have a problem which I cant solve. I have a 7910=9185 Version installed and the DE_AT_CH_815_2024 Maps. I use Easyusetools for the job, copied all the data to their folders. When I do the patching for the map, it works (on the Diamond, as well on the PC HDD), copy the map to the HTC Diamond. But when I try to launch the map, it still tells me no valid code.

Easytools tells me, after patching the map, that I have to patch (or need a already patched) system. So, my question is: Do I need a prepatched TTversion or can I patch it with easytools? Because when I try to patch the system, it tells me, that I am missing a file. Whatever that means.

Pls help out.

I tried to use easyuse with UK maps but it says "keygen saysmap not supportedof meta.txt2". So it should be wrong map or someething but I have no clue what to do now?

Activation failed help

Can someone please help me with the activation failed message.

Installed: TomTom_7.910.9185 QVGA Blue.cab
Trying to use the following map: TomTom7 USA and Canada v. 725.1905 Map

I got tom tom installed correctly.
I copied the Map folder onto the SD card named "USA_and_Canada-17"
And used the following Meta file

; USA_and_Canada_725_1905
A1 13 E6 D2 CB 29 47 A1 2C C5 AE B1 1D 73 F8 A2 USA_and_Canada-17.meta

I ran the following command which I assumes activates the map??:

tt7_keygen.exe f:\USA_and_Canada-17 ##########
'USA_and_Canada-17.meta' - OK

The dct file copies correctly to the SDcard and when I go to run tom tom I always get "Activation failed"
I have tried everything. Please Help

I've managed to make it work :)

It was Tom Tom 7 I downloaded (the rip from HTC Diamond) wasn't working.. downloaded the repack that was on this site and voila :D

works perfectly now!
