Question concerning probe on re-7500

Im new to this forum and I have recently purchased
a RE-7500 from Jovy systems.I am presently working
with it and found a problem with the temperature probe.
I did some work on some boards and the temp that is
indicated is always too low.If I see 120 celsius I check
with a temp mutimeter and probe and I read 240 degrees.
I know that the temp is higher than 120 because all the
chips are easy to pickup.I bought an infra red temp gun and
also a calibrator.Using a omega cl-300 thermo couple
simulator I checked the k input on the RE-7500 and the
tests ,from 0 to 500 degrees ,all pass showing the correct temp.
Using a compatible probe for a test gives me better
readout than the probe from Jovy.Has anyone checked the
precision of the Jovy RE-7500 temperature probe?
I cant use profiles with the probe presently because it
gives me almost an error of 100 gegrees celcius .If I use the profile2
from the machine for north and south bga the board will burn.
I already did a test with a scrap logic board and using the
infra red gun I got up to almost 300 degrees celsius before the
display showed 180 degrees on the screen.

I contacted Jovy but response is slow.I saw that allot of
people were using this machine on this forum and it convinced
me to buy it directly from Jovy.

Just found proper way of adjusting probe
from photos sent by Jovy and also turn
off all ceiling fans and air flow that can affect sensor
...it is very sensitive .Profiles work correctly now.

How did you adjust it? Mine also reads very low, though the circuitry seems accurate. It looks to me as if the probe is simply not at the board temperature, even when the probe is touching the board.

I don't suppose you could post the photos Jovy sent you. If you look at all the Omega surface probes (and they are really experts at measuring temperature), they go to great pains to keep their probes flat on the surface whose temperature is being measured, while the Jovy probe just has a tiny point of contact. It's bound to be hard to measure the surface temperature with so little contact.

Since I couldn't get a response from Jovy (or the US distributor, to whom Jovy sent my inquiry---he just sent a nasty message telling me to get lost), I'll have to make my own probe with a better surface contact.
