View Full Version : Nokia virus: does anyone know about it?
A few days ago I've seen that exists a virus for nokia phones. I didn't look well becouse I thought that was a jouque.<br />After that a client brought me a 3310 that when power the phone apear stars, and simbols like @ * etc. and after contact service.<br />Does anyone know anything about this?

i read about this virus on a forum, it has something to do with sim client software, dont mind having that myself got few knobs putting phone down on me after calling me

Honustley, how many "phone virii" have we all read about which turned out to be hoaxes?<br />TOO MANY!<br />I think i'll remain scepticle until I see the program itself and see the effects on a test phone...

This is true!!<br />but it only affect nokia's older then latest summer (and not all).<br />They security thread was found by Dutch <img src="smile.gif" border="0"> Security engineer.<br />WBR<br />Salami1_1

True virus works on 3310 and 6210 sent by sms open it up phone hangs, take off battery and still phone is F****D fix I think is to put sim from the virus phone in to a diffrent s/w phone remove message and all should be well with the sim can't remember on how to fix phone. <img src="biggrin.gif" border="0">

So wer can we get this software from. I know a few nobs id like to try it on!!!
the program is a normal pc to phone sms program called "sms_client" that was edited to send messages with the user data header broken. i dont think the edited version is available anywhere though as the person who did it has reported it mainstream instead of posting on the underground for people to use
Its pretty simple to do, just look for the string containing the UDH and change it to some non-valid value...<br />Same goes for any program source which sends sms on any platform - but the fact remains, its not a virus - just a bug.<br />Virii propogate themselves, this doesn't - merely a bug <img src="smile.gif" border="0">

Yeah, lol..<br />But still - you gotta let people know.. The media causes panic - soon people will be asking where to buy "Norton AV" for their Nokia.. lol

LOL- david B , that was funny,i can imagine some people trying to look for this nokia virus repair off the net. id be buzzing loud and high if i get hold of this software. would love to try this virus thing on couple of police officer's phones - LOL
LOL!<br />I'm a student and every teacher keeps in touch by mobile phone - they all have the number plastered on the back - send to all of them then ring the fire alarm! now that would be caotic <img src="smile.gif" border="0">

so sms client is software that comes with many linux distribs ... you can get it from lots of search engines for linux like rpm . it also contains source code so its easier to modify it . i think the free source is the main reason for job de haas to choose the sms client tool .

Two weeks ago I saw C30 with the next problem.<br />When I tried to select Messages>Incoming<br />The phone reseted (power off and power on again).<br />After several attempt I inserted this Sim-card into Panasonic G520 (first that was under hand) and saw in Incoming Messages three messages without title. When I tried to select one of them Panasonic hanged. After it I deleted all that bad messages and inserted sim into C30. Now Phone work properly. May be it was other problem but similar.
P.S. C30 belongs my girlfriend - she think that It was my joke, but I can't explain it. <img src="eek.gif" border="0"> <img src="eek.gif" border="0"> <img src="eek.gif" border="0">

I am currently researching into the UCP protocol..<br />If anyone has any info on it please mail it to me!!!
I intend to write a program in Delphi 6 for windows to do this - also it will allow you to spoof your number too (just another extra of ucp <img src="tongue.gif" border="0"> )<br />Of course UCP is dialup one so you'll need to use your modem for it, and not your phone (Unless ya got NCDS installed!)
So, anyone have info on UCP???

EvC member has already wrote an sms spoofer for win32 platform. uses dial-up also. just modify the proggy if you want a ****ed up sms-header!
