I formatted three phones having TOSHIBA Flash and failed. I used third party software to survive those phones.
I am warning you just bcoz :
You will try to format with ET-Box, phone wil be formatted and you will try to turn it on but it will never turn on. After that you may think that phone has hardware problem and thus, will cause unneccessary damages to phone.
@Naman
Please check out if 1.70 supports TOSHIBA CHIPS. BTW, I noticed that third party software said "Flash IC is too slow, setting baud rate to 460800". I don't have any phone handy but I will try to format these phones with ET-Box with 460800 baud. :cool:

well, i dont think that formatting with ET-Box is a risk. cause the best part is that you can write back the backup file easily within few seconds if you have any problem.
means if in any case the phone doent turns on after formatting with ET-Box or the phone does have any other problem like white display, etc. then u can turn it back to orignal state just by writting back he autobackup file.
so, its no way a risk with ET-Box to chinesse phones.

I agree with you but, I am not saying that formatting with ET-Box is a risk. What I actually want to say is following condition:
> Suppose, I have such a phone in hand which is dead.
> I have ET-Box. Now what I will do? Simply try to format.
> After formatting I see that Phone does not turn on.
> Now, not only me, but others too, may think that problem lies in hardware.
> Now, I, or some other people will surely mess up with hardware without knowing that problem is actually in software.
That's all I want to say.

i think you are somewhat wrong here.
if a phone becomes non-functional or comes down to any problem after formatting with any software in world, this simply means that the phone was not correctly formatted, so it needs to be backed up with original files. so simply u just need to write back the backup file which ET-BoX automatically makes during formatting, which no other box does like mc-tool, ve-pro, spiderman does.

@Naman
I am not saying that ET-Box may cause any kind of damage to phone.
Formatting with ET-Box is totally harmless, Bcoz ET-Box always makes backup before formatting...
We can always restore our phone in Pre-Formatted condition...
But what I want to say is that:
We often follow these two rules while handlig Chinese phones:
(1) If phone is dead just bcoz of software, formatting will revive it...
(2) If formatting does not revives, problem may be in hardware...
In TOSHIBA Issue, formatting with ET-Box will not revive the phone...
Making us to follow rule 2 (problem is in hardware)...
If we don't know much about hardware, we will return the phone to customer saying 'Problem is in hardware'....
But if we are somewhat hardware technicians, we will surely look into hardware...
In this issue, messing up with hardware will make no use...
Thus, it will cause unnecessary loss of time...
I think that you may understand what I want to say!
