View Full Version : Pinfinder box modification question
help me infinity team.i have read somewhere about modifying pinfinder box to have better connection for tx rx on china phone.check this post about modding pinfinder box
hello!
no point to run searching if phone can not be powered On or at least blink.
try to solder capacitor to power lines like on picture below.
Capacitor value 470 micro farade, starting from 5volts.
To make test without disassembling pinfinder adapter you can attach capacitor to free pair of power "crocodiles"

my question is can i use a 470 micro farade capacitor but with 10 volts?coz i cant seem to locate any 5 volts here.just to be sure.....wont it damage my box or any phone?tia

Hello,
You can use any capacitor with voltage more or equal than 5v, so you can use 5v, 10v, 16v etc...
Thanks infinity team for the reply.btw 1 more thing this image shown by andri does this mean that we add this capacitor on pinfinder box? Or infinity box?

It's need to add capacitor to PinFinder.
In fact 90% of problems can be solved after you short diode in Infinity-Box but if results still not good you need to add capacitor to PinFinder.
Just now n73 china phone came to me for repair.the main purpose of this test is whether pinfinder can detect its rx,tx even if cant power on during process.

As you can see guys even if the phone cant tend to turn on in power on process of pinfinder but still it can detect the pinouts.unlike before youll need the unit to really turn on.thanks pinfinity team.....

Hi Infinity,
I have modified my pinfinder adapter with a 5V 475mf capacitor but still does not power on some handsets, can I put in a 16V 1000mf capacitor?....in the pinfinder manual, i see you can go to 2200mf....if so, could i safely put in a 2200mf 16v capacitor without any worry as to it damaging any phones?

Hello,
You can try 1000mf or 2200mf without any risk.
If capacitor value will be too big it may be problem with power on/off and pinout detection may be failed in some cases, so try to use 1000mf first.

Hi Infinity,
Thanks for your response, so can I feel safe putting in a 1000mf 16V capacitor?
