Hello friends,
I have a big problem with my N82. I bought it in China couple of months ago. B4 i bought it, i searched the info online about N82 and found that it has inbuilt WLan and i loved it.
After purchasing one, i couldn't find the WLan.
When i called Nokia customer care, they said that, in China all N82 doesn't carry WLan. I asked why? They said it's according to the regulation in China.
And i have already purchased it for some months now.
Can anyone help me with any kinda of WLan Application that can work normal in Nokia N82?
Am gone if i can't find any. Can't return the phone.
Thanks all!

Hi Neighborhood,
If it's the hardware in the phone that's either been removed or disabled, then, I suspect you probably won't be able to do anything about it, but it may be just the Nokia wi-fi software isn't present, try the software in the link I've attached, this should work if it's just a software thing.
Good luck.

youi don't think thy have removed the wlan hardware. You might try to reflash your n82 with non asian firmware. You can do that very simple changing your product code, using nss, with an european one, and then with nokia software update reflash it. Hope it will work

Hi Neighborhood,
Just tried the link myself, it opened and downloaded fine, if you are actually in china then you'll probably have trouble downloading anything from what I've heard.
Anyway I would go with tzacanel's idea, don't know why I didn't think of that myself when I've done it to my phone, this link : http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=164114 (http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=164114) explains how to do it, I had to do mine 4 or 5 times before it would take the new code, so you might have to play about with it a bit.
Good Luck, let us know how you get on.

tzacanel & Dave,
Nokia Beijing called me couple of mins ago and said that, the phone doesn't contain the wifi hardware and there's no way they can help.
So, is it still necessary rebranding it with the NSS software? Is it going to work?
Will the rebrand affect its usage in China or Asia?
SOS me pls! Am stucked at nowhere.
Thanks to you all for the time to think about my help.

Hi Neighborhood,
If that's true and the hardware (i.e. a physical piece of the phone) has been removed, then flashing the firmware won't do anything, and sorry I can't comment on how flashing will affect it's usage in china, don't know anything about this, you need to speak to a phone expert, someone who knows his stuff, such as a shop that unlocks phones etc. in china.
Personally I would have just brought one from outside of china if this is possible, sorry I can't help anymore than this.
