"No reply" from tech support has pushed me toward making a move to the forum. As not
receiving any sort of reply or acknowledgement from my emails is starting to stretch the boundaries of belief.
I have emailed customer support at support@infinity-box.com but currently have no reply to my problems.
If anyone with solution please help me
I have just purchased infinity pinfinder from Em5 ( year-wang) and installed it to work with infinity box according to the manual at http://www.infinity-box.biz/download/public/Infinity-Box_PinFinder.pdf
Just to say activation and connection was fine with no trouble at all.
But my problem is I CANT FIND OR DETECTS PINOUTS.
It’s really a good tool for Chinese phones. And I will be more than happy to get a product that worked in the manner that it was designed for.

Listen!!!
Infinity box is one of the best box I have in my shop, and the box of the year 2007. And you are trying to keep your box at or a head of others in gsm industry. This most often means frequently updating and changes we find at support area.
When it comes to pinfinder, the reality is that things are different here.
I'm not really into that kind of stuff, spoon fed!!!!!!So I say no thanks I don’t want to be spoon fed. I didn't even realize what I had done to expect miracles. If you are a nice person, then it would be kind of you to give me a step by step tutorial and not just say read the manual. I have read the manual for more than 10 times. But I’m still stuck.
About CPU type. Well I have both pinfinder and pandfinder. I had some problems using padfinder from the beginning but I got some help from their support site and everything works fine http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=550284
I repeat!! I have read the manual for more than 10 times and still stack. and I have tried using manualy rx and tx without any success.

Just a small addition: what is your phone CPU chip type ?

my friend I have tested many MTK chipset Cell phones. Do i have to open pinfinder to put those capacitors? what about warranty. I have only made a jumper to the diode inside my infinity box, the phones can power on till you see the logo.

Question: what is exact CPU chip name in phone that you tried to find pinout ?

Capacitor: if you have NO problem and you can power-on any phone via PinFinder "power" cable you do NOT need to add capacitor.

Your message #4: I have spent (personally me) more than month trying to prepare step-by-step user manual.
In fact Infinity-Box PinFinder manual now is The Best instruction/manual that you ever can find.
No any other boxes (and probably 99.9% of all other software that you can see) has so detiled explanation, step-by-step instructions and pictures.
So I do not see any problems when we ask users to read PinFinder manual because 99.9% of possible problems can be solved with our manual.
The main problem: people never tried to read manual and even if they tried to read it they follow manual very very rare.
Just an example is: your question "Do i have to open pinfinder to put those capacitors?"
This means that you read manual but you DI NOT FOLLOWED our instructions.
So...

Warranty: I think it's good idea to ask your reseller and tell him that you want to make modification according PinFinder manual. I don't think that reseller not agree with you. Anyway, it's good idea to inform reseller first.

Finally I repeat my question again: what is exact CPU chip name in phone that you tried to find pinout ?
Question #2: what is voltage at unibox pin-1 ?
Question #3: are you able to power-on phone via PinFinder power wires ?

1. yes, you have made everything correct (correct CPU type selected)

2. are you sure that you have checked page-19 in PinFinder User Manual ?
Possible problem: too low voltage value, it\'s need to open Unibox and short diode (according to picture in manual).
Also what is voltage at your PC USB port ?
Voltage at pin-1 should be 5v

3. anyway, double check voltage value

4. many (really many) phones has RX and TX not at phone connector but RX and TX test-points marked at phone PCB.
So it\'s good idea to open phone and check RX and TX test points.

Everything has a manual of some sort. That includes an actual manual that came with the item, a pamphlet, sheet of instructions, help file, FAQ section, a searchable forum that probably contains the answer to the question already, other online resources dedicated to the product or service you are using, etc... I do not just click-click-click my way through whatever.I cant attempt using any box without at least reading the manual. i have read it more and tried to search for the answer before I came here,
I have been professionally involved in electronics for 10years
It appears that you may be one of those who, for some strange reason cannot get your box to work,Im not an advanced user to SKIP instructions of the manual
What does it mean to make something not easy to use?
1.-"SHORT THE DOIDE ACCODING TO PICTURES IN THE MANUAL" this is on page 20 and NOT 19. and remember ive done this already.
2.-Voltage value is 4.87v, 4.88v, 4.86v
3. phones rx-tx not at phones connector
im surprised other box like pandfinder can detect verrywelllll
I use padfinder with infinity box and works fine.
please try to help me and dont just say read the the manual.
The manual won't enable me to post questions that aren't covered in it.

Just for your information: I have more that 10 years experience in this field, in programming and in support too, so I have little knowledges about GSM as well as about users.

As you can see in my previous post I have told you that 4.86v is not the same as 5v.
So I repeat my question that was asked in my previous message: what is voltage at your PC USB port ?
What was the reason to ignore my question ?
Probably it\'s because your PC USB power is 4.86 v instead of 5v.
Any ideas about so low USB voltage value ?

Also, if you are professional (and if your PC USB voltage is 5v insted of 4.86) and able to make required modifications: take a wire and connect USB +V pin with unibox pin-1.

btw, what was the reason to buy another device for pinout detection if you already had device that was able to detect pinout well ?

There are many benefits to buying different pinout detection in a progressive work. Just like having mult-box while I have infinity box. And for nokia phones I have jaf, hwk, mt-box. Please tell me the more you know why I should not have both.

I have already transferred 5.0v from my external power supply to infinity box just at USB connector pin
(+5V : First USB port power) and now I get 5.0v at pin 1 but still I cant detect pinouts. And I have transferred a wire from my pc usb port . pin 1 but stiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiil I cant detect pinouts

Hello,

Let\'s check is PinFinder adapher PCB is working.
Pls, take any phone with pinout that you know for sure, set pinout in manual mode and try to flash/unlock phone.
In case of connectioon problems swap RX/TX pins.
Let\'s see results.

I'm sure you've contributed a lot. But how does one determine whether the pinfinder pcb is working or not? Its easy to know only if it could detect pinouts.
I have tried a working phone with known pinouts. Zte 225, pinouts 1= phone tx 2=phone rx 3= ground. Set manually and here is log

Do they accept returns if the items are defective or damaged? And there is a chance that the box is defective. However, the best when it comes time to replace a defective box. What about shipping charges? I purchased my from china Em5 online shop.

Do not use \"reverse\" button, just set Rx pin instead of Tx and Tx pin instead of Rx.

What is the problem exactly ?

Changing rx instead of tx and tx instead of rx doesn’t connect. Furthermore, I still can’t figure out why I don’t get any log when I hit “set” tab. You still haven't answered this. This seems like a problem.

Hello,

What do you mean "no help" ?
"no help" means no answers, but as you can see we have tried to do everything for you.

Anyway, here is some steps that may helps:
1. Double check your cables, connectors etc.
2. Read PinFinder manual, especially page 19 where we have described well known problems and solutions. Please, do not ignore any of them.
3. Try to set pins in manual mode. If you have enough experience you can set Rx and Tx pins then short that pins at connector and check with any terminal software is it exist connection Rx <-> Tx (check echo)
4. If still no luck, contact to your reseller and explain the situation, probably your reseller can allow you to open PinFinder and check it's PCB to detect any bad soldering etc.
5. If still no luck you can contact to your reseller for replacement.

I hope you understand that we did not leave our users in "no help" position but we try to solve any problem with all possible ways.
So, please, no need to write this kind of messages in future.

Hello,

step-5 information: please, contact to your reseller (the person who supplied equipment to you) and talk with him about your equipment replacement.
I am not so experienced in discussions with resellers due to I am technical support person, but if you need any help regarding sales/replacement procedure you can contact top support@infinity-box.com and ask more questions.
Please, b noted that we did not replace any devices directly, so it's no need to ask support@infinity-box.com person to replace your equipment, this person can helps you with advices how to talk with your reseller (if you have any problems in this discussion).
Any kind of replacement procedure should be done only via reseller who have sold and sent to you any equipment.

In June 2008 I bought infinity pinfinder adaptor from Em5 china, and installed correctly in my pc according to the manual. Activation and connection was fine but I could not detect pinouts even with a known pinout. Likely because the pinfinder PCB is not good.
The Product Supporter (Infinity-Box)
Suggested that I should do some hardware modification on both the pinfinnder and Infinity box to fix the problem. So I did
I have been loyal to Product Supporter because I was told it would work.

The modifications that I did on both infinity and pinfinder adapter pretty much failed to detect pinout. The pinfinder adaptor did not detect pinout even manually. Product Supporter added that maybe I have very low voltage value on pin 1 so I should open the unibox (infinity box) and short diode according to the picture in the manual but still did not work.

After two or three weeks with my dead box ( pinfinder) Product Supporter came up to “solve” the problem again, he asked me if the PCB adopter is working and advised me to take any phone that I knew its pinout and set pinout in manual mode and try to flash/unlock phone. Still connection problem even if you swap tx/rx

My complaints:

Given that the pinfinder adapter is not working as it’s meant to be, I really feel that it is PCB defective and should be replaced.
Infinity support team chose not to perform any kind of replacement procedure and told me to contact my reseller for replacement.

I would like some explanation as to why the PCB did not work as I was told the unit was high quality, and that I would have no problem with it.

I spoke with my reseller and asked me to send it back for replacement
Below are the FEDEX charges for my replacement.

Shipping charges to my reseller (Tanzania to china) FedEx express 65.27usd
Shipping charges (China to Tanzania) FedEx express 65.27usd
Total 130.14usd
Box Value ( infinity pinfinder) 100usd

Why should I, the customer, pay for mistakes that Infinity team made when soldering the PCB?

So, what is your advice ?
Should we make a PinFinder replacement and pay you delivery charges too ?
Did you ever tried to replace your faulty Nokia phone this way (ask Nokia for replacement directly and ask Nokia to pay you back delivery charges) ?
If you had this type of good experience, please, share it with me and we will start to send faulty Nokia phones directly to Nokia factory (for repairing and replacement) instead of repair it by warranty in local servce centers.

It looks like you can not understand what you talk about, so, please, stop to create stupid threads.
I have made more than clear explanation for you in current thread, so you are free to contact to your reseller now.
If you have any advices we will be glad to hear it from you (f.e. more ideas about pay to you delivery charges, to give you our bank access, our credit card numbers etc. as a compensation for box, that you unable to run and that was offered to you to replace by warranty).
Pls, let me know what else we must do for you ?

why u make more threads of one problem many time?
